Texas Recruiting Notes 2020

Recommended Posts

The whole list is fucked up.  Hudson dropped out of the top 100 but is still showing at 89 in the new 250?

Some of the individual players rankings are updated if you go into their profile and look at the rank history - but the list hasn't  finished updating, or hasn't updated correctly.

I don't understand how Troy Omiere moved up, and not drastically down. But ok.

really caught everyone's eye when he managed to stay upright running his 40 with his debilitating hamstring injury at that camp. Or was it a knee thing? Pretty sure the story changed somewhere between that vid being posted and it being scrubbed from the internet.

I have this vision of him running barefoot through the snow in the mountains, tracking down pumas, killing them with his bare hands,  cutting out their hearts, and roasting them over a fire.  In his mind he asks himself "Van, what is good in life?  To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, to hear the lamentations of their women."  Then he tackles an elk.

From the Rivals article accompanying the 250 list that is currently fucked:

https://n.rivals.com/news/rivals-rankings-week-five-programs-that-should-be-pleased-5

Tom Herman’s momentum continues to build, as an appearance in the Big 12 title game has given way to a 2020 recruiting class that currently tops the league. Of course the headline on this update when it comes to the Longhorns is the fact running back pledge

added his fifth star and became the No. 19 player in the country. There wasn’t much more major movement for Texas pledges within the Rivals250, but adding a five-star to an already strong class is enough to land the Horns on this list.

We dropped every single recruit but one, but we gave the one an extra star so fans should be happy.

Looks like the 250 list is now updated:

Card drops 28 spots to 117

Majors up 2 spots to 142

JQJ stays at 154

Thompson up 4 to 197

Alford sits at 146 (up 1)

Alfred Collins remains outside of the Rival's 250

I thought the comments by the regional guys in the update were pretty telling. Spiegelman is clearly an SEC apologist

Hester, Courtland Ford, and Branard Wright fell out of the 250.

One of LSU's QB commits, Max Johnson, fell about 100 spots.

A&M's Muhsin Muhammad III fell about 60 spots.

Jahari Rogers got a nice bump of 27 spots.

Johnny Wilson is down 55 spots, to 90.

LVBS got a 44-spot bump.

McGlothern, LSU (and former A&M) safety commit Major Burns, and Hornsby continue to tumble.

Ty'Kieast Crawford has entered the rankings (finally), but Kitan Crawford is still not present.

Not much movement among previously ranked Texas commits, other than Card and Bijan. I was a little surprised to see Broughton fall 10 spots.

Jesus fucking christ man. Can you not be a negative little bitch for 8 seconds of your life? We always knew they had top heavy talent in their class. What do you think the odds are that their shit ass bread is suddenly going to rise up the 250? I’m guessing probably not likely.

No Garth, Collins, Pouncey, Princely, or Crawford in the 250... but they saw fit to include Omeire, Muhammad, Diggs, Raikes(!), and Moten. Looks pretty janky to me. Just saying.

Most of those guys for them were already included. We’ve always known Rivals would suck. But literally nothing has changed about the class we have committed in terms of talent, except another data point of your pussy rubbing on an unnecessary subject.

Lets put this another way, you actually woke up today and thought that Rivals was suddenly going to get their rankings right after years and years of just getting phoned-in garbage? I think thats the most absurd expectation I’ve seen on this board yet.

Nothing has changed, eeyore. To put this another way, for the world to be right to you today, it was dependent on Rivals waking up today and doing their jobs? Torbush.
