The Batshit Insane QAnon Conspiracy Theory

Hugo Stiglitz

Recommended Posts

So an old friend who is fully on board the Trump train just messaged me about how Trump still has Air Force 1 in his possession.

Is this a new thing in the Q cult?  I mean, call me crazy, but I think somebody would notice if a multi-billion-dollar tricked out 747 failed to return from Florida.

Thinking back to where all this started and how some weirdos started pizzagate and then an internet firebug troll decided to kick it up 100 notches on 4chan with the Q bullshit.

The analysis of whether QAnon is true or legit should IMMEDIATELY stop at "4chan."

An individual with the highest security clearance in the United States is breaking news in the form of riddles on 4chan? The same site that is 95% tentacle porn, video game discussion, and anti-semetic memes?

PEOPLE, HOW? WHY? STAHP!!!!

This was one of my last threads on tigerdroppings from November 2017. It was concerning the Qanon conspiracy theory and some research done on how it got started and the possible purpose of it.

https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/display.aspx?sp=73613507&b=2&s=1&p=73613507

From the thread:

The motives behind #FollowTheWhiteRabbit are ambiguous - here are some possibilities. . .

(1) Raise the hopes of Cult 45 that they're witnessing something HUGE and then crushing them
(2) Groom the masses to accept/support/not protest unconstitutional actions against "establishment" authorities
(3) Groom the masses to embrace violence against their presumed enemies
(4) Sow seeds of confusion/discord and stress/distress within the masses to distract them from or slow their response to actual major event(s)
(5) Clickbait campaign to build followers for propaganda "news" sites
(6) Massive prank?
(7) Other?

Three and a half years later it and “all of the above” seems likely.

Holy shit. It turns out her “research” on the meaning of “It ain’t over until the fat lady sings” started and stopped at reading the first two sentences of the Wiki entry on the phrase, which she then paraphrased in her little educational video. From Wiki:

It ain't over till (or until) the fat lady sings is a colloquialism which is often used as a proverb. It means that one should not presume to know the outcome of an event which is still in progress.

These fucking clowns really believe that reading a couple lines from Wiki is insightful. Jesus.

It was just the opening to her thesis, no different or more insightful than “Webster’s defines ...”

That occurred to me as well. But I think there’s an important difference in how she presents it.

Everyone knows that “Webster’s defines...” is a cliched rhetorical technique for introducing the topic of a paper or talk. It’s not meant to imply any particular insight or new knowledge.

But this lady made much grander claims. She claimed to have done “research” into the origins of a colloquialism. The phrasing she chose was meant to convey deep and novel insight.

I don’t think she was purposefully deceiving her audience; it’s more likely that she doesn’t understand what real research is and what qualifies as insight. But it shows how the Dunning-Kruger effect drives so much of this Q shit. It’s not just that these people are unsophisticated and uneducated. It’s that they are unsophisticated and uneducated, yet simultaneously convinced that they are brilliant researchers uncovering hidden truths about the universe. From Wiki, of course.

I think it’s pretty obvious by all the jump cuts that she can’t even hold a minute’s worth of information in her head long enough to recite it on tiktok.

She didn’t know the basic fact that the bill of rights is the first 10 amendments to the constitution, at least not well enough that she had to say 10 or so and then called them articles.

She believes the q nonsense.

in summary, she is dumb as well as uneducated, so it should come as no surprise that she can’t use words correctly.

So there have been dozens of doomsday cults over time where they all are convinced that the world will end on a certain day and often the day passes and they reset the date using some excuse and on and one. Some have surely had dozens of failures. What ultimately happens to these people? Do they eventually give up and realize they don't know shit? There seems to be a parallel here that the "storm" was going to happen on certain days and that day comes and goes without their predictions coming true. Biden taking the oath and now signing orders that are actually being implemented, I can maybe see them holding on to a few more hopes like trump taking over from Florida, but ultimately none of this will happen. How many of them will finally realize that they were duped and are wrong? This isn't a small group of crazies in Waco, this is millions upon millions of people who belive this shit. Surely some will come around and at least just go back to their crappy jobs and families and at least stop making trouble, right?

The longer someone is committed to something like this, the more unwilling they are to reverse course. It’s too tough on people’s’ psyches to admit that the thing they believed whole heartedly for years and gave years of their lives to and lost friends and family over, is wrong.

I think now is where it gets nigh-impossible to predict what will happen. It can go fucking anywhere. It could die out in 2-3 years or morph into an even larger mass movement/delusion/religion spanning generations. The Jehovah's witnesses predicted judgment day like 10 different times and they're still plugging along with millions of adherents.

One possibility is that the political elements get dropped and the new agey conspiracy mystery cult energy gets transferred into a different cause. It could splinter into different shit. I've expressed fear that QAnon is a readymade multimillion member base for a fascist movement. And I don't just mean right-wing shit, I mean real-deal anti-democratic autocratic fascism. We've got millions of people scrambling for a prophet and messiah now that Trump's out on the golf course. Someone might come along and become Trump x1000 but I honestly don't know who could possibly do it. My hope is that people just get bored, shrug their shoulders, and "go back to their lives" as Ron Watkins urged them to do (LMFAO).

The tragedy is the God knows how many hours of energy, time, and money these people sunk into it. Think if all of those people had instead put it toward community service, nonpartisan humanitarian causes, or, I don't know, ACTUAL ACTIVISM FIGHTING HUMAN TRAFFICKING THAT IS REAL.

Tl;dr - We need a better public school system in this country.

A whole generation has now reached majority that was not exposed to Schoolhouse Rock...Yeah it was out there, but these kids had options and could and obviously did avoid it. And now we as Americans are paying the price, and it is not cheap.

There was probably very little lost in brainpower but yeah those people could've been weaponized to actually make the world a better place in some ways if their passions were so inclined.

Been thinking lately that "Who do you believe?" is like that old logic puzzle. You know the one?

You're trapped inside a dungeon. You have two paths forward. One leads to a room where you will become trapped and devoured by monsters, the other to freedom. There are two creatures at the entrance. One always lies, the other always tells the truth. You get to ask one question of one of the creatures. How do you find your way to freedom? If you ask one, "How do I escape?" If it's the truth-telling one, you're good; if it's the liar, you're doomed.

The answer is to ask one what the other would say, and then do the opposite. So for example, if you ask the liar which door the honest one would say leads to safety, he'll lie and say the dangerous one. If you ask the honest one, he'll truthfully tell you that the liar will tell you the dangerous one. Same answer, and the opposite is the truth.

So we can play this game with Biden and Trump, if you can find a question that matters enough. For example, if you ask them "If I asked your opponent who won the election, what would he say?"

If you ask Biden, he'll tell you that Trump will lie and say that he won the election. If you ask Trump, he'll lie and tell you that Biden knows full well that Trump won the election. The opposite, as usual, is the truth -- Biden won.

The neat thing about this test is that it works even if you think Trump is telling the truth and Biden is lying... You just have to find a question where asking one what the other would say yields the same result, then do the opposite. For example, the question "Should we engage in a civil war against each other?" Both would say that the other would say "Yes," and the truth is that we shouldn't.

There's an idea that some male adherents come (haha) by it biologically....They are on the Internet all night with their pants around their ankles clicking back and forth between Q crap and Alex Jones and Pornhub, mixing dopamine hits from the porn and cortisol from all the outrage on the politics sites....It all mixes together; hell, 4chan and 8chan have it all in one spot. And so these dudes literally jerk themselves into a new reality.
