How could we make Texas dumber?

Abbott has the answers to the questions no one is asking!

I don't think any job at a public school (especially in Texas) is "the best job" from here on out.

As for the UT President him leaving for the SMU job only tells me he was sick and tired of the politicians in Austin.  All of them think they can run the University better than the President.

I think he didn’t like the way some things were handled. He may be too conservative to lead Texas

I have never understood why the governor, a Texas Ex that has done nothing but support the school, is mocked with a nickname that makes fun of his disability on a Texas website.

Because he is a fucking asshole. I don’t have to support every Texas Ex who decides to go through life being a piece of shit

So, rather than criticize his opinions and stands, you mock his disability?

This too.  Texas AD isn’t being interfered with by state politicians. And CDC has control of the boosters.

It’s the best gig

i'll get this back on track - the next smu ad will be in fund raising mode, over load first. next will be keeping your football and basketball coaches happy. third, start building up non revenue sports.

this is a very good job, football and basketball are headed in a very positive direction.

Why is a private school AD job better than a public one?

They'll come at anything that scores them political points.

Matter of time.   Someone will be forced to write a trans policy soon for the AD and then the DEI examinations in a dept where most of the students are black will be next and it will get way shittier from there.

Shitty evil garbage humans get shitty evil garbage things said about them. Don’t be shitty evil garbage. Pretty simple.

It occurs to me that the only two politicians I ever met who were actually decent human beings ended up getting slaughtered in elections. Record-setting slaughters, mind you.

Wonder what that says about democracy in general.

Because criticizing his political stances on a football thread would cause more than a few snowflakes to get their twats so twisted, they might end up needing a wheelchair as well .

He's a gigantic fucking tool who craves power and will suck anyones dick for more power,  whether that advances the educational mission of the University of Texas or not. He cares about Greg Abbott not UT, and deserves to be mocked for being such a human buttplug. If that offends you, sign up over at Texags. They love the guy. Go be with your kind.

I didn’t say you said that. You said there was a possibility it could happen. You said this because you’re an SMU douche that must remind the board you’re an SMU douche at most opportunities. Then you changed the thread title to obfuscate the idiocy you originated. Because you’re an SMU douche.

Ooh, Park Cities slapfight!

The tree put Abbott down, not any of us

I prefer to think the land of Texas put him down.

But, sure, @Statsman, it is much worse to ridicule a powerful man in a wheelchair than it is to enact policy that actually hurts everyone who is also in a wheelchair. Ask your daughter to finish this old saw, “Sticks and stones …”

Fuck gov wheels. He actively fought for tort reform to keep others from doing what he did after that tree failed to finish the job. He’s a POS and deserves to be punched down at. Fuck him.

Abbott doesn’t realize he is the fucking I in DEI. Without shit like this and advocacy from the ADA he would never be able to roll his ass up into major government buildings. I’m surprised that people haven’t started spray painting the letter I on a bunch of ADA ramps around the Capitol to drive the point across.

Actually they need to remove them.

I agree with this sentiment privately, but publicly mocking Abbott as “wheels” undermines our side because it comes across as cruel to all the stupid people who only have a surface level understanding of politics.

Abbott’s disability needs to be embraced by his opponents as a major stepping stone for how DEI has helped shaped his career and his political success. It is literally the pathway he takes to his office. Handicapped parking, wheelchair ramps, accessible bathrooms and hotel rooms are ubiquitous to our daily lives. It’s an opportunity to plant a seed where the Republicans haven’t already crafted a narrative.

Nothing could torpedo a career faster than being put on a pedestal by Democrats by becoming the living embodiment of the I in DEI. Dems just have to praise the success of the ADA in allowing for a man like Abbott to be included and able to roll up to the Capitol all on his own and become the Governor of Texas. Even though this is all completely bullshit, voters eat shit like this up the way they do with Ivermectin.

Bullshit. Logic and reason are meaningless and worthless with them. They speak in memes and wrestling moves. Epic body slams are all that resonates with them.
TLDR; the only thing that moves the needle is performative cruelty. So we need to perform better than the GQP.
