Give me one candidate -- just one -- who just says on repeat "fuck these guys, and fuck all their bullshit."

His name was Roland Gutierrez but a bunch of BMDs and Washington based consultants decided to stack the deck for Rep. Football McTextsalot (D, Uncanny Valley)

Here's 12 more minutes that are worth a watch. Apologies if already posted somewhere.

The Dems need to go back to school and learn some shit from this guy.

I am 100% in favor of Democrats shitting on reporters who ask stupid questions or parrot GOP talking points.
BUT- treating reporters who ask good questions like shit is a TERRIBLE look, and being a baby about it is worse.

I clocked her as a student government Type-A jagoff a mile away. Glad she's not a MAGAt but definitely not someone who should be in leadership.

In fairness to Porter, that was a stupid question. She should have known better than to melt down like that, of course, but the correct answer to the question (how will you get the 40 percent of Californians who voted for Trump) is by reminding the interviewer that Trump has been losing support especially among Gen Z and Latinos, so if the election were to be held today she would not be competing for just 60 percent of the vote and then pivot from there to one of the talking points about the gubernatorial race.

She got upset that the question was slightly rephrased from the list shared in advance and her lawyer brain couldn’t let it go. She had to “win” rather than deliver her points. Everyone else managed to deal with this without issue.

After the Uvalde shooting, McConaughey called for common sense gun control or background checks. Vague goals without specific changes but that's not the end of the world from a celebrity. I have to wonder what backlash he received and how that has shaped his public statements. But he also most likely had some positive reactions as well.

From what I understand, gun control or shootings did not come up in the Rogan interview at least to a point where McConaughey could be expected to offer a gun control opinion. Wouldn't surprise me if Rogan was asked to avoid certain questions.

He wanted his studio built and bent the knee to get it done. He’s a schmuck

The real hard hitting legislation that the people are asking for!

Quote

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law this week that will require streaming advertisements to have the same audio level as the shows they interrupt.

Starting in July, the volume level of ads on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Max must match that of the content—meaning no more deafening jolts about moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. The rule is based on a similar US federal law that only covered ads on traditional TV, not streaming, which was passed in December 2010. That year, the FCC received over 130,000 complaints, mainly about loud commercials.

California’s new ad volume controls were written by State Senator Tom Umberg but inspired by his legislative director, who was frustrated with streaming ads waking up his newborn daughter, Samantha.

Kidding, it's actually a good law I think. Also, wins like this are no-regrets-- nobody has a problem or can reasonably take issue with this. It's as bipartisan as it gets and is one micrometer closer to bringing America back together.

I wonder why a network of livestream cameras wasn't erected in the city centers of LA, Chicago, SF, Portland, Denver, DC, etc... and made available prior to any of the national guard deployments?

Like, it would have been incredibly easy to show exactly how lawless and burning these cities are before any deployments occurred.  Just have all the city center livestreams available at https://www.thecitiesarenotburning.org.  Engage in a media blitz campaign to make people aware of it.

Now, all you can show is a bunch of bored national guard troops picking their noses after having established "law and order."  You can't show the context that existed before the troops arrived to the voters supporting these efforts that are under the impression that these cities were lawless hellscapes.

This is just easy guerrilla marketing shit that a tech intern could cobble together in a couple weeks.  Such an ineffectual response to the authoritarian power grab.  Inept or complicit, these dems gotta go.

So I guess Janet Mills officially declared for Senate in Maine. Maybe she's the one that can finally topple Susan Collins, but she'll be 79 when she take the oath as a freshman senator. I swore I wasn't going to throw money at out of state lost causes this time around, but I may throw a few bucks at Graeme Platner in the ME Dem primary.

Its hard to have faith in the faithless.  And I am not talking about spirituality or religion here, I'm talking about a party devoid of any leadership that instills confidence or hope let alone a passion to act.  Whatever you think of MAGA, its given people something to believe in and to be a part of, and that is seductive even if completely misguided.

A couple democratic politicians have a pulse, but the party as a whole?  They are the hollow men, the stuffed men, crouched together, headpieces filled with straw...

Why do you think she will win the primary?

Because Graham Platner said some nasty things in now deleted tweets about Republicans and we just can't have that.

At this point Im just assuming the DNC is directly behind Plattner's smearing.

Anyone who presents a populist, pro-worker message is an enemy of the DNC. They're uniparty with the GOP in this respect. Especially if you have called yourself a socialist in your past.

They're still trying to ruin Mamdani even though it's pretty much a lost cause at this point.

If he's a present day Nazi that's a problem. Otherwise, isn't this exactly the demographic people have been handwringing about winning back from the Manosphere? You gotta meet people where they are. A working class millennial veteran from rural Maine is more likely than not going to have made some unsavory friends and participated in some unsavory shit. Afghanistan ain't Vassar.

TBF, Gold just broke an all-time record of $4,000 an oz I believe....

Yep. Several nations are buying up all the gold. Pretty soon normal people won't be able to afford to buy it anymore. Don't sell your gold.

I sold most of mine back in 2021 when I thought the price was way inflated. Whoops. Still have a lot of silver I am sitting on.

If he got it removed after finding out what it meant, I think that's acceptable. Not great, but again I don't believe they have a very deep bench in a state that's 100% white. Find me a replacement candidate, I'm all for it. However, I still pick him over Susan Collins.

He hasn't had it removed. His excuse is that he just thought it was a cool skull and crossbones symbol and that he never knew it was a nazi symbol until the last few weeks or so.

It's definitely a skull and crossbones. It is not a "cool" design, at all.

My gut tells me that if he was an actual Nazi, he'd have turned out much differently, and his reddit comments would have been a lot more damning. Instead the worst comment was treating rural white folks with too broad of a brush. He called them racist, and not in a complimentary way. It's for the people of Maine to decide if they can look past a dumb tattoo. But from where I sit, I'm not buying the idea that he's some sort of secret Nazi.

A clearer pic and the actual explanation.  https://boingboing.net/2025/10/21/progressive-populist-graham-platner-has-nazi-totenkopf-tattoo.html

Not knowing that that is a Nazi/SS symbol is probably acceptable from a meathead enlisted guy.

Naw, I'm not willing to cut him that much slack. He grew up a millennial and obviously interested in the military. WW2 movies were huge then, Band of Brothers was huge, etc.  Nearly every popular first person shooter when he was growing up was about shooting nazis. In one of those, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, the main bad guys are literally the SS lead by a guy named Deathshead.  It's not a swastika but it's also not obscure.  It's literally what they're talking about in the are we the baddies clip that became a huge meme!

There's no way this fucking redditor hasn't seen that gif a thousand times. And not once did he think "hey, that looks kinda like my tattoo"?
