Sure you do. You only lost depth to the portal last year and this year. This year throw in some key starters portaling out or bolting for the NFL.

Elko's a great, no-BS coach! We have all the talent in place for a run. It was just the lack of a great coach. We are set!

No concern that Elko so far seems to have about zero appeal to players already at A&M or leaning to committing to A&M. No concern about the iffy coaching staff. Only certainty in the destiny of the Fightin' Texas Aggies from Texas!

Elko is about to experience hell and failure in a very public way. At least he'll get the money.

They'll be extremely lucky if their "very dark" journey is only three years.

Aggy is now surrounded by sharks in Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, and Georgia. They have nothing to sell right now that those schools don't have in more abundance: a history of success, better college atmospheres, more talented rosters, and competent NIL programs. Aggy had its chance a decade ago when they left for the SEC and (briefly) escaped the shadow of Texas and OU. For a short time they were the "new new" thing and bags were king. Even with those advantages, however, they never got over the hump and were, at best, a top 3-6 program in the SEC. Now they'll be solidly middle of the pack, competing with the likes of Arky and Missouri for scraps. If they're lucky.

It is fucking bleak for them and I am here for it.

That good sir is a very, very dark picture you paint.

Yes. Ignoring the actual development of Christian Jones, and development of Devin Campbell. Oh, and even if it were true, Pancake Factory motherfucker, so I guess the alums stepped up and did more than a 12th man ever fucking did.

As a Texas fan, we win this argument either way. Just like fucking real life with those renobs.

It’s be the first time reality hits that fanbase.

Reality hits those idiots in the face over and over again, year after year.  They just convince themselves it's something else, a vast burnt orange conspiracy to hold them down, an incredible confluence of unforeseeable (but also predictable) events that are out of their control (but also largely self-inflicted) that are unlikely to ever happen again (but also recurring), etc. etc.

ATM should forfeit their bowl game.  It's setting up to be an ass beating anyway since half their team is in the portal.  That lets them show Robinson the door also.  Since it's logical, they will never do it.  Instead Robinson will continue to fuck them on the recruiting trail while he's the interim coach and then Gundy is going to embarrass them in the bowl game, which will be extra delightful after Texas fuckstomped Okie St in the Big XII Championship game.  We are in the Ragnorak of aggy misery.

I think they can find a way out with their roster losses.  A well timed covid outbreak would ensure it.

You could get away with that in 2020 or 2021. Not 2023.

The Bowls don't sign those contracts with the conferences just to have teams forfeit.

And if teams could forfeit they would do it all the time.

They really should have never accepted the invite in the first place.  They did so 2.5 weeks  after they canned Jimbo when the coaching search was already a shitshow.  So another self-inflicted wound.

They need the money.  Several million dollars to each school.  I assume the SEC pools the $, but they're in dire straights financially after firing Jimbo.

After bussing the entire khaki wearing hoard and putting them up for one night, that level of bowl game is break even at best.

The Texas Bowl payout is 6.4 Million combined for both teams. No way they can aggy it up enough to not be profitable. Plus there is this..

For the 2023-24 academic year:
Each conference will receive $300,000 for each of its schools when the school’s football team meets the NCAA’s APR for participation in a postseason football game. Each independent institution will also receive $300,000 when its football team meets that standard.

A conference will receive $6 million for each team that is selected for a Playoff Semifinal. There will be no additional distribution to conferences whose teams qualify for the national championship game. A conference will receive $4 million for each team that plays in a non-playoff bowl under the arrangement.

Each conference whose team participates in a Playoff Semifinal, Cotton, Fiesta, or Peach bowls, or in the national championship game will receive $2.85 million to cover expenses for each game.

Based on calculations from the 2022-23 season, the following distributions were made in the spring of 2023 (Estimates for the 2023-24 season will be finalized following the 2024 CFP National Championship.):

Each of the 10 conferences received a base amount. For conferences that have contracts for their champions to participate in the Orange, Rose, or Sugar bowls, the base combined with the full academic performance pool was approximately $79.41 million for each conference. The five conferences that do not have contracts for their champions to participate in the Orange, Rose or Sugar bowls received approximately $102.77 million in aggregate (full academic pool plus base). The conferences distribute these funds as they choose. Notre Dame received a payment of $3.89 million by meeting the APR standard; the other six independents shared $1.89 million.

Certain conferences in the Football Championship Subdivision received approximately $3.08 million in aggregate.

So even if Nolan does go back to Aggy are they just going to let him back into practice? Surely he won’t be Playing in the bowl game.

Are they buying him back or is it just too much hassle for him to go somewhere else for less than his asking price so he gets nothing more?

Lol. They think the problem is just "the last administration" and not "the current administration which is the same administration." Dipshit certanily meant coaching staff. Althought to be honest some of that last coaching staff is still coaching the bowl game and going in dry every day.

"I know it's bad for business, but I really wish we could clean house on some of these idiots."
Oh look, we found a self-aware Ag that realizes that their school and administration is full of idiots.

"How many horns are on this site and how many I hate everythings".
Oops, he's not referring to the school idiots. He just wants anybody speaking the truth on Texags to go away, so he can continue to live with his head in the sand.

Amazing how Looch and Braun immediately transition their gaslighting from "You plebs don't understand, Jimbo has it under control it was always Plan 2024" to "Jimbo left this program in shambles." The funny thing is, if they'd retained Jimbo and all these players, they might have been somewhat decent next year with their cakewalk schedule.

Seriously, Westlake HS would fare well with that schedule.

They had a cakewalk schedule this year and ended it at 7-5.

This is how stupid jawja poster is. OUSUX first 4 games are at home. 5 of first 6 are at home, the one that isn't is a neutral site. Overall they have just 4 true road games. At Auburn, LSU, Mizoo and Ole Miss. That's far from "got hosed."

This guy makes 7 figures a year and lives in a low COL shit hole, yet still can't get a properly tailored suit? And a 1990s Paisley tie straight out of a Sears catalog? Fucking embarrassing.
