I know I post a lot of stupid stuff here, but for once, I'm going to be serious.

I'm really, really, really scared of Texas A&M.

While we have been all over the place, changing coaches, QB's and game plans, they have been steadily, methodically building for success.

Last year, they went back and forth, toe to toe with a team who made it to the NCAA semifinals. BACK AND FORTH AND TOE-TO-TOE. Don't believe me?

Texas A&M Aggies Coach Mike Elko said, "We went back and forth, toe to toe with the team that wound up in the NCAA semifinals," when referring to a game against the Texas Longhorns.

They have a QB room that Texas can only wish we had. They tricked us into thinking Conner Wegman was the answer, and we build a defense to stop him, AND NOW THEY'VE MOVED ON FROM HIM AND WE"RE STUCK WITH THE WRONG PLAYERS. ADVANTAGE AGGY.

Most of all, they have a secret weapon. Jimbo. That's right. He became friendly with Texas last season.

And now I bet he is stealing information from Sark. Slowly, quietly. Little tidbits that he hears from Sark when they have coffee together.

The sleeping giant awakes this season.

God help us all.

We fell right into their brilliant trap once again!! Heads needs to roll! Fire everyone! From CDC to Immamac (for that tailgate stunt he pulled)!

Tailgate Stunts would be a good name for a craft beer from some local Austin brewery.

Something high alcohol but appropriate for hot weather.  Maybe an Imperial Pilsner.

Old Fashion. Share definition. An unlubricated and painful handjob, usually performed instead of sexual intercourse, much to the dismay of the male involved.

Well did he cum or what?

A good suggestion for a rational tailgate but this is Surly. I suggest a more appropriate drink by the same name which is a riff on Vodka Red Bull, but replace the Vodka with 151. Or riff Wake the Dead, but use Patron XO Café, Coffee Liquor and Baileys.

Oh hell, who am I kidding. Just go full Surly and make Ritas rimmed with cocaine and call it Tailgate Stunts with 10s.

To be fair, it doesn’t mention what can’t be stopped.

Nut squeezing? Sheep fucking? Losing? Inevitable failure?

The list is just so damn long.

No one can stop Elko once he gets rolling down the hill

Ya know, I watched the Astroworld documentary on Netflix last night. I know it was a different time and nobody was really held accountable in Houston either, but at least the nation was aware and fewer people died.

GDit Beta was a superior format to VHS!!!

/myfatherin1985

But it is true.  Betacam was the professional standard used in TV production for many years.  VHS beat Betamax in the consumer market, mostly because it was cheaper and had longer running tapes.

Your dad was right, and you are partly correct. Arguably, the biggest issue was JVC was very open to allowing lotsa manufacturers to license VHS. Whereas Sony, for not the first nor last time, was too finicky about their own IP and who they would license it to.

Edit- Also, porn was almost exclusively produced on VHS. Every. Time.

Hence, why it was cheaper. ;)

News broke today that Jamarion Carlton, one of the top players in the state of Texas at the defensive end position, would no longer be taking an official visit to Texas A&M. He had been scheduled to show up in College Station this weekend along with another star-studded list of recruits, but he will apparently no longer be making the trek down from Temple.

This comes on the heels of an official visit to Texas this past weekend. Of course, amid rumors of some of the recruiting staffs around the country not only paying players to visit their campus but also paying them to not visit rivals, news of this type shouldn't be surprising in general.

It should be pretty clear that the massive momentum that the Aggies have in the recruiting world at the moment is not exactly something that the Longhorns are comfortable with. The Ags are far ahead of Texas' class in the rankings, and have a class nearly entirely made up of blue-chippers, while Texas' average rating sags far below.

Though this seems like a victory for Texas, and it certainly will be if Carlton ends up committing to them as now looks likely, the Aggies are still one step ahead of the Longhorns.

Texas A&M still in prime position for several top DEs after Carlton cancels visit
There's been a lot of buzz ever since last weekend about Alabama DE Tank Jones, a five-star prospect who was on campus for the Aggies a few days ago, and the move that A&M made for him. Not only him, but another five-star in Bryce Perry-Wright could end up choosing the Aggies when commitment day comes.

That's not even to mention the high-level DE Tristian Givens who has been giving A&M a hard look for some time, as Jaxson Callaway reports:

If the Aggies can land two of those three, they'll be fine— and given the shape they're in overall in these recruitments, I wouldn't bet against that prospect.

Intriguing (even when spelled wrong) is not the word I would use to describe getting my dick kicked in, but Jaxson does not seem like the sharpest tool in the sheep shed.
