Naw he was the one backup QB that they fucking hated.... Until he beat Alabama but by then the rift between him and the fans was too much and he peaced out to Auburn.

He came in for Haynes King who broke his leg super early in the 2021 season.

Zack Calzada was a backup and they loved him 'til he came in and started. Then  they hated him, until he became a backup again.

Haynes King was a backup that they loved 'til he came in and started.  Or was he the backup after he was the starter? Now, they love him as the starter...for Georgia Tech, but some Aggies think he should be the backup there.

Connor Wiegman was the backup who became a starter. Or maybe he started out as the starter, THEN became the backup that people hated. Then, he became the starter, but they wanted him to be the backup, which he became. Now he's the backup for Auburn, or maybe the starter when they play A&M.

Which takes us to backup Marcel Reed. He was the backup who replaced the backup, Connor Wiegman. Reed became the starter after coming in against Florida, but they soon soured on him and wanted him replaced by Wiegman, who was still the starter, but was on the bench. Now Reed is the backup while they look for a new starter, but he plays the whole game.

Zack Calzada was the backup who became a starter who was going to win the Heisman. Then he transferred.

Haynes King was the starter who was going to win a Heisman until he became a backup who was going to win a Heisman until he got hurt and became a backup who was going to win a Heisman when he became the starter again. Then he transferred.

Connor Weigman was the starter who was going to win a Heisman until he got hurt and became a backup who was going to win a Heisman when he became the starter again until he sucked and got benched  now he’s transferring.

Stop me if you’ve heard this…

Marcel Reed was the backup who became a starter who was going to win the Heisman until Weigman got better then he became the backup again until Weigman sucked and he became the starter again and is going to win the Heisman.

Better summation than mine and funnier. Love the “backup who was going to win the Heisman when he became starter agin.” Haha.

Of course. When he was the starter. And when he was the starter again after injury.

Y’all are missing the point. All of those guys are better than any QB on the sip roster, especially the flameout Quinn and “2* with any other name Manning.”

It sounds like aggy(s) do a lot of backing up.

For being a 2*, a whole lot of them sure were asking they needed to offer him a ton of money to flip to Aggy just this month, haha.

I don’t look at Texags often. Usually only when looking for Aggie tears. But in my time there, I’ve never seen any reference to Graham’s drivel. Do they actually pay attention, or is he writing only for Surly?

Aggie buddy's freshly-indoctrinated Aggie son talked about this "march so complex that it shouldn't even be possible" stuff. I commented that if their engineers were stumped by it then it doesn't say a lot for their engineers and that I'm sure I could find some people in Austin to explain it to them fairly easily.. They were unamused. (And everyone in the Wendy's drive-thru clapped.)

I've seen the Fightin' Aggie Band quite a few times and it's a cool show they do, but it gets very tiring to deal with Aggies wanting to make their "good enoughs" into "the greatest evers".

the pat persona prime directive is to troll us, see "@cow_tools" above (and good work cash mccoy!!)

i wonder if the real graham harmon even knows his identity has been co-opted and hijacked by aggy

'84 - my first aggy game - @ memorial - the sight of the cosplay display marching in lines back and forth while hundreds of instamatic light bulbs flashed every second (yes - that was still the operative technology for personal cameras in 1984)

my estimate at the time was 5000 pictures taken with zero discernible difference between any given 2 pics when they were developed

This is the corps I marched in (although not this particular year).  Tell me the Fightin' Texum Aggie Band could do this.

Nice! Who knew we had some DCI alums here.  Cavs 91 and Phantom 93 are two of my all-time favorite old-school shows.  I really wanted to do DCI (even switched to baritone from trombone in band for a year to get used to it), but couldn't swing it financially - it was either spend a few grand I didn't have to go do that, or earn a few grand I really needed working all summer.  Kinda regret not doing it.

~'83 I joined the middle school band, because I was badass like that.  Our middle school band director made us play the aggy war hymn and march an aggyesque show, because, according to him, it was the only college fight song/marching routine that was easy enough for 12 year olds to pick up.
