I had Directv and YTTV subscriptions until this morning. I read about YTTV/Google thinking they could fuck with Disney on a CFB weekend. Went into the app to cancel, they'd removed the "Manage Membership" option. Gone. On both my phone and in the app on my Apple TV. I had to use go to tv.youtube.com in order knock it out. Took me less than 5 minutes and felt great. I hope millions more do the same. In this blame game, I blame the company that is already raising pricing again and thinking that they can just shut off about half, or more than half, of the reason I subscribed in the first place.
Would feel great if my YTTV subscription didnt just re-up 2 days ago. So if I cancel now I wont get shit for a refund.

Pro tip, living at the bottom of a deep hollar in remote Tennessee is bad for free TV viewing.

Living a mile high 150 miles from the nearest broadcast antenna doesn't work all that well, either.

It’s worked every week this year I’ve done it. It seems to be college games that work, nfl games not so much. The only issue is the occasional random YouTube ad over the stream and one link may freeze but you just switch to one of the other ones if that’s the case. You’ll see multiple streams available.

I watch basically zero live TV other than sports. I haven't cancelled yet but I will if I don't have ESPN tomorrow on a November Saturday.

Do the other hundreds of channels I never watch go through this shit? Like do people lose the Travel channel, or Lifetime or whatever all the time?

Channel groups will often have disputes with a service provider, irrespective of whether they're carrying sports on those channels. I've seen it with whoever own the Food Network and also with CBS' parent, I guess Paramount?, at some point.

The big ones we all see are always Disney and Fox, of course.

All these people can get fucked, I just want my sports,  I thought that was what I was paying for. Yet, nonetheless,  they email us all the time, "warning, you're about to lose espn etc"

Like im supposed to do something?  Its fucking Google and Disney and yet here we are, the consumer,  already paying for a service and now being told we do not have anymore.

If I get Fubo or Hulu, will I be subjectes to monthly emails of scare tactic that ill.lose something im already paying for?

Espn has been a disappointment,  YTTV,  man, they used to rock, not im done with them.

yeah, I will just go back to pirating shit. Its easier than ever. I have like 6 stream aggregators bookmarked as well as an entire message board devoted to sports streaming: ttps://therealstreamhub.site/index.php

Free media heck yeah might be the most useful link on the internet, it links to an enormous amount of free stuff online, not just sports. This link is just for the sports, but look around, you will be amazed what you find on fmhy.net: https://fmhy.net/video#live-sports

EDIT - as alluded to earlier, a lot of streaming sites will have pop-ups and other sketchy shit. Use any of a number of malware scanners/popup blockers if this is the route you go. I play cards with this older rich dude who is technology ignorant. They just had $30K hijacked from their bank account because he watches porn online and has no browser condom. They contacted the bank got it all resolved (money returned) and new accounts set-up. Within a week, $9K more was hijacked from the new account, because the dude has malware on his computer, lulz. His wife is not happy right now, lulz.

The traditional cable/satellite bundle was a much better deal for sports fans than the fragmented streaming hellscape we have now.

i pay for the nba package- don’t get to watch Texas teams or games on espn/tnt

i pay for the mlb package- don’t get to watch Texas teams or increasing number of games on apple tv

now i have to pay for apple tv if i want to watch those mlb games

i pay for peacock to watch epl

i pay for paramount+ to watch champions league

have to pay for amazon to watch nfl games

i pay for yttv to watch college sports, except that now they no longer carry the family of networks that shows all the good college sports

this is criminal.

Yeah fuck YTTV at this point.  I got in right before they raised their rates for the first time ever and it was like $36/month.  I just canceled and it was at $85.

What is the deal with the Fubo and free Apple TV 4k?  It looks like it's somewhat random and you need to be post-trial and have some sports package?

What about Hulu Live TV?  Because we already have Hulu I can't seem to get any promos and the only bundles I see are $90 and $100/month that come with a bunch of Disney and ESPN shit I just canceled like a week ago after they raised their rates...

Anything else I'm missing?  Sling has some issue with local channels and I don't want to mess with an antenna.  I don't mind the occasional pirated stream out of necessity, but no way do I want to deal with that every Saturday, for the entire day.

When do they come for Directv Stream, I wonder? That’s the one I’m looking at switching to. Wouldn’t go with Fubo unless forced at this point to spite the mouse.

I didn't even know what f'n Disney bundle we have.  Apparently the subscription is "Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Legacy".  I can go to "Live"in my Disney App now and watch ABC News.  But if I go to "Upcoming" I don't see Texas/Vandy.  Would I need to change to the "ESPN Unlimited" bundle? Is that right?

I also have YTTV just to watch sports, I renew in the fall for College Football and drop in January. Dumb question here - I understand the many options for pirating live games, are there any site that let you watch recorded games? I have a commitment tomorrow morning (west coast) so was going to watch the Texas game when I got home. Obviously not an option on YTTV now, am I just screwed for watching the game?

I don't blame one side more than the other because I stopped caring enough to research what the real issue was. I just pulled the plug and now find "free TV" options as my kids call them. Also, pro tip to you younger posters: have kids because someday they will know current technology better than you.

Now I stream everything.

Also, I've stood in the second level crowd of Bryant Denny Stadium when they sing Dixieland Delight after the 3rd quarter, which I don't think they do anymore. It was quite a thing to behold. Bucket list kind of thing for a sports fan to experience.

I believe that is correct.

I normally would opine that these things always seem to get worked out last minute, but in this case I wonder if Disney is going to bank on people only using yttv for sports and see how many are willing to drop yttv and add their espn/fox bundle for half the price.

I just added the Disney and ESPN sports Ball-licker package to my Hulu and canceled YTTV. So.. there's one. Of note, I have zero interest in Disney content at all, but of course I can't get the ESPN ball-licker special with out the Disney bend and take it package added in.

I haven't needed to use Youtube.com to try and watch cfb games, because I am a sucker that pays for YoutubeTV recently and there are a ton of streaming options. But its possible a lot of those games remain on the youtube servers at least that day. Also this site (found on the FMHY site I linked above) seems to host full replays of college games, although I have no idea how quickly they post them so its possible they dont show up for a couple of days. But if you have no other options, its worth a shot. https://nfl-video.com/cfb/

they dont have Turner channels for march madness so that might sting  but I'll pirate those. Im sure YTTV and disney will come to agreement sometime today but can't beat a free $129 apple tv

I had to get the HOB max subscription for turner, but it still sucks because you can't switch quickly between, say, ESPN and TNT.

FYI, I clicked the "cancel" link in the Disney email that YTTV sent me yesterday, and there was a $10 off the next six months offer. This has nothing to do with the current dilemma, but if you plan on keeping YTTV, might as well get the discount.

I found the feedback page and did the same. Live Sports is the one thing that keeps cable/streaming TV businesses afloat. Fuck their $20 credit offer. YTTV has $0.00 value to me if I cant watch muh football. I suspect a large number of their customer base feels the same. I would be surprised if this isnt resolved by tomorrow. They may not like the fact that the mouse has them by the short and curlies on this one, but it doesnt change the reality. They will nuke that entire business if they don't bend the knee. I would hate to be the YTTV product manager these days. You know the decision is being made way above him, but he's fucked if they don't cave, lulz.

The crazy thing is what I enjoy most on YTTV, outside of sports, is the random 80s/90s movies they show on a handful of whatever the middle channels on the guide are. I find myself watching that shit on a regular basis. Major League, Twister, Armageddon, Rocky 3, Ghostbusters, Lethal Weapon 2, US Marshals, etc etc. Seen em all before. Still better than anything else on tv not live sports.
