It isn't anything to scoff at for sure, but to say this wasn't well publicized would be a grand understatement.  The state party did a piss poor job on that front.  The ballots on the non-partisan portion (all the judicial elections) are deliberately vague.  You quite literally have to know who to vote for going in, which many voters do not (the ballot does not reflect party affiliation).  The only advertising I say was strictly for Pinson (organized by Kemp's people).  All in all, regardless of outcome, a poor job by the state party.

Sounds familiar as I sit here in Texas.

Also I didn’t realize it’s non-partisan. They just list Pinson as the incumbent. Versus states like WI and OH where Dems won state supreme courts in partisan races

Is Abrams sitting this one out?

It's a clear suppression tactic, and there were only 3 races that matter, everything else was incumbent unopposed.  The other (somewhat) big race was for the court of appeals, Tabitha Ponder vs. I shit you not Jefferson Davis.

She hasn't been out front as much lately.  I volunteer in the fall with Georgia Vote 411, and to my knowledge she is still involved, albeit noticeably less vocal of late.  If that's her choice, I respect it, she's done a lot, and perhaps it's time for new leaders to emerge.

Bad news, Pinson leads by about 80k votes with a bit over 50% reporting.  Good news, Dekalb, Fulton, Clayton, and Bibb (Macon) not really reporting yet.  I'm not sure it's enough to overcome that amount.

Kind of like Beto.  I think it just wears on you.  Beating your head against the wall and fighting the good fight, only to see that you are completely outnumbered by brainwashed human paraquats.

Burnout is a real thing, for anyone, even if you have success.  Elections are grueling, and I'm not sure how many cycles a normal person can go being that invested, 2, maybe 3?  For someone that spends their entire lifetime in politics I guess that's just how it is.  For the rest of us, I think it's exhausting.  We (my wife and I volunteer in October and early November every couple of years, and that alone is tiring.

At any rate, I personally think it's critical for leadership to roll over, hopefully the state party is taking notice tonight and new leaders emerge.  Take nothing away credit wise from predecessors, it's just time to build upon that.

And they say Biden is too old.

That GA election was bad bad.

Weirdest map ever. Barrow lost a bunch of Biden counties but flipped a bunch of Trump counties. That will probably not be the November 2024 map

Comey has a lotta nerve seeing as how he is essentially single-handedly responsible for Trump’s improbable win.

Charlie Kirk is saying Comey is terrified about accountability for Trump getting elected?

I don't think that quote is accurate.  We all know that Trump is "looking at things very strongly."

As I put in the MTG thread, I’m pretty sure they intentionally went in on a day when they knew he wouldn’t be there. So, you know, not trying to kill him.

what if the supreme court waits to rule on immunity until after the election to see who wins. if biden wins, no presidential immunity and trump the two time loser goes to jail. if trump wins, we are all fucked and he can do whatever he wants.

It's always something with these crybabies.

Not specific to the POTUS election but I keep reading how the Dems have a shit-ton more money than Reps.  However, I see plenty of Trump and GQP commercials but almost none from the Dems.

why waste the money now?

This is 100% the GQP play.  Find random-ass reasons to not let Biden on the ballot at all in remotely contested states.  Do all they can to prevent Dem precincts from voting.  Then after the votes are in, shut down the count, declare "election irregularities," and have a GQP lege or state supreme court declare Trump the winner or at the very least, declare the election "invalid" in a plot to throw the whole election to the House.

We have long since seen our last free and fair election.  The GQP has made sure of it.

Anyone surprised by this is too stupid to walk the earth, and should eat a bullet right now to do the world a favor of taking themselves off the face of the planet.

These fuckers would vote for Hitler if he was on the Republican Ticket.  All you would hear is, “yeah he killed 6 million people but Biden is senile so I have to vote for the mass murderer”.

Bingo.  There is no scenario too extreme.  "Yes, Trump has promised to brutally murder every hispanic and black person in America, as well as everyone who voted against him, and he has already signed contracts to construct the gas chambers, but I blame Biden for gas prices that are back where they were before, and I once saw him yawn, so I have no choice, and I have to vote for Trump."  There's nothing, not a single thing, that he can do to lose their votes.

What I don't think people fully appreciate is that while yeah, there are some dumb fucking voters out there, there are a lot of voters who aren't dumb but love Trump.  I know a few of these, and they have kind of given up all pretenses if they trust you.  They think the federal government is fatally flawed and needs to be broken and rebuilt no matter the cost.  They know completely well that Trump has some horrific traits competing for dominance -- narcissism, sociopathy, stupidity and criminality.  They do not care.  They view his hatchet-man governance as the opportunity to remake the federal government to be something from before the New Deal and all the progressive measures enacted in the last half of the 20th century (civil rights, gay marriage, etc...).

That is their vision of a better America.  And they don't sport swastikas tattoos or shaved heads.  They are directors or VPs at companies whose names you would recognize in Austin, Dallas and Denver.  They are some of the parents of the kids that your kids are friends with.  You've sat next to them at little league games, maybe even laughed together at a (non-political) joke among the circle of dad's at the neighbor kid's birthday party.

From Merriam Webster:

Dumb: lacking intelligence STUPID

Intelligence: the skilled use of reason

The people you describe manifest a deficit in the skilled use of reason and could reasonably be described as dumb.

Correct.

They think that what happened to people exactly like them, who facilitated the exact same shit in the quest for personal power, in Germany nearly a century ago.......won't happen to them.

Leopards eating the faces of fucking idiots.  I hate them.  I hate the milquetoast enablers the most, because they actually KNOW THIS SHIT IS WRONG, but they're willing to go along with it for some incremental gain of power/money/vengeance on people who they hate for no fucking good reason at all.  It's so fucking stupid.  So yes, they are dumb.  Very, very dumb.

Maybe they are "smart" when it comes to one thing or another, but they're really fucking dumb when it comes to this.  I don't care if you're the most brilliant heart surgeon the world has ever seen, if you think that makes you qualified to fly a jet with an engine flamed out, you're fucking dumb.  And you're going to crash and burn.  These fucking idiots have mistaken the fact that they've figured out how to do X means they are super-smart when it comes to being fucking nazis.  But....in the end, they're just fucking nazis.  And they're going to take all of us down with them.

What's astounding is that it has never been easier to get information.

The simple fact is that for greedy and sometimes downright evil people Americans by virtue of the phone in their pocket should be more connected and educated to the state of all of those things mentioned in that poll than ever before in history.....alas propagandists going to propaganda.

So, if he’s the one to break and rebuild the federal government, why didn’t he just do that last time?
