Did he not?  Or did I hallucinate him choking the game away at the end?

He did, but they want the talking point of the game being close despite our non-NFL QB.

The Texans are about the stupidest franchise they can can be. That makes them o ly the second stupiedst franchise in Texas because Jerry Jones won’t die. But fuck them too.

Also for Sark's "QB whisperer" reputation.

Meh

Arch's performance should rehabilitate that rep next season (or 2). Or maybe, "look how good the Longhorns were with an undrafted scrub at QB".

Not a QE apologist (he has his flaws), but Sark's playcalling and Cam Williams doing an "ole`" on Jack Sawyer were the main culprits.  And fuck you for making me re-live that sequence of plays.

Apologies.  It's pretty much seared into my brain.

Should we be worried that Arch couldn’t win the starting job over this guy?

No

Sark was just very loyal to Quinn. Plus, Arch looked like shit against UGA too.

Beyond the already thoroughly turned over and examined concerns, the problem for Ewers now becomes his name.  Orgs don't want their asses constantly getting whipped by fans and the media when their starter has a bad game about why their 2nd/3rd string guy who was the former number 1 recruit and won a lot of college games isn't getting the chance for the fanbase to live out their Tom Brady wet dreams.

Spoiler: no one knows who the fuck he is.

Both things can be true at the same time:

One, Quinn Ewers starting gave Sark the best chance to win in 2024-2025.

Two, NFL GMs do not believe Quinn Ewers is worth using a draft pick on in the 2025 NFL Draft.

I love the “being an UDFA is better because he gets to pick his team” guys. You guys know that you don’t just show up to the team of your choice and fill out new hire paperwork, right?
