Yep. Been there. Midship became quite the popular hangout from time to time.

How did you not puke 15 times per day? Did you carry around a Dramamine IV drip?

Not really. Doc had plenty in stock at all times. Probably had more of that than motrin.

Lots of people hurled, but mostly the less salty. We did get ripped up in a storm once, that was just so much fun. Everyone yakked at least once, from the CO on down.

It’s kind of like drinking. Once you yak, you’re usually in the clear.

However be aware that using alcohol induced motion sensations to counteract the pitch and roll of the ship at sea….  Does. Not. Work.

I don’t care how many time you turn yourself around, you’ll never be 180* out of phase so they cancel each other out.

It's like tl said. Once you get your sealegs, you're gtg. I was seasick as a motherfucker the first 3 days we were out. Completely debilitated. Doc came down to my rack (you're seriously sick when they come to you) and handed me some suppositories. I was confused and he told me told me it was DIY. After a couple of those I never got seasick again. It's cool to walk on bulkheads and pull 0 g.

We were on the USNS Edwin Patrick (pretty large ship) and were tossed around almost that bad when we were caught up in the “arm bands” of a Pacific typhoon in 1957.
It was just for a few hours though.

Grizzly Attack Survivor Says Ordeal Was Most Violent Experience Of His Life

The disabled veteran who was mauled by a grizzly on Sunday in Grand Teton National Park said he never let go of his bear spray during the attack. He said when the bear went in for the "kill shot" to his neck, she bit into the can.

There is a giant ashram in Driftwood on the way to the Salt Lick.  They used to have a deity they rolled out every afternoon, a Swami, peacocks and the whole shit.  I think there was a trial and a fugitive hunt and what not.  I’m sure they still use the building for religious purposes but my work there is done.
