As a male, the primary item I use for emotional support is my penis.  Because I am a shallow thinker and a simple man.

So, I think we should all start shopping at HEB with our dicks out, and if anyone says anything, bristle and claim discrimination against our emotional support dong.

Isn’t that the problem? The people with power are too big of pussies to say no and tell them to leave. Because of our society’s Karen mentality to video it and sue and claim to be discriminated against.

If I was the manager, I’d tell him to get the fuck out and if he fights me over it, you call the police.

Yeah probably, it just depends on what the store's policy is for dealing with customers like this. If they have carte blanche to just boot customers the fuck out for doing shit like this, then sure, but I suspect they don't want to do that for [probably dumb] reasons.

Um, excuse me SIR, but that shit was in the service of its owner.

It's a very large store. It's like dropping bread crumbs to find her way back out.

Plus she's clearly blind, deaf and dumb. Some empathy please.

I would have started yelling at her to come pick up her dog's shit, and followed her until she either did it or left the store.

Correct.

Though if I was that HEB worker, I would have followed her to her house and shit on her front porch.

I'm sure that's not the first time they've seen it happen.

This is anecdotal, but that video tracks with who I see not picking up their dogs' shit in my neighborhood.  Older women.  It's a really strange form of entitlement, but they have so few entitlements I don't want to judge too harshly.  Nah, nevermind, fuck those old ladies.  Pick up after your animals or learn to live alone with your thoughts.

I'm assuming this line is satire.  Because I think older white women are probably the most entitled people in this country.

If you go to a dog-friendly bar or restaurant and then bitch about people who bring their dogs there, you should be covered in gravy and staked out in a dog park.

That people need dog friendly bars and restaurants is indicative of how pathetically codependent people are with their pets.

Parks, trails, backyards are great places to bring your pups.

In all seriousness, @MrBig, I was kidding but I wouldn't personally care at all if someone brought a snake around their shoulders like that as long as they weren't letting it crawl around on food or whatever.

As far as worrying about if it's venomous, I'm not sure if you're serious about that but I also recognize that I'm a huge animal nerd and not everyone else is. There are maybe a [very small] handful of venomous snakes you would be able to handle like that without getting bitten, the overwhelming majority of venomous species are simply far too aggressive to drape over your shoulder and walk around with. Certainly none that you could readily find in the US with the exception of a hognose snake, but they're generally too small to carry like that anyway.

At any rate, that's just a [likely red tail] boa. They're completely harmless though they tend to get rather large.

As far as should it be in a grocery store? I mean, probably not, but I would assume if the store had an issue with it they'd ask him to leave or at least not to bring it back next time. Either way, it's a pretty harmless act.

Family get together, just shooting the shit, and the question is asked to me, lifer in the industry, and my youngest son, who worked at HEB through high school and early college; who are the rudest people?

Both of us, simultaneously, "Old white ladies!"  The have no fucks to give, will run your ass over with the carts, and generally will Karen your ass off for the most innane, inconsequential bullshit.

While I do agree, sometimes a bar or restaurant that is dog friendly is nice after the park or a hike with said dog. I’ve def stopped at a brewery after a hike with the dog (when I bring him)

But leaving the house with the dog specifically to go to just a bar or restaurant and then back home? Nah. Unless it’s a bar/brewery with an attached dog park and friends are bringing theirs

Dogs are fine in bars. If the owner does not suck. @MissingInAction and Luna are fine. But at the local pub there are some real assholes. One dude was finally kicked out. His big as hound would be off leash, wander around begging for food. Have seen a few dog fights, etc.

The worse are the idiots who bring their little dogs and think it is fine if they are walking around the table.

Oh, and don't ask me to hold your dog while you go piss. Should have thought about that.

PS- I have stopped in with mine coming back from a walk. But I am there for maybe 30 minutes. Also, some of these places are loud. Some dogs don't do well with loud.

But your pup has no business at HEB unless you need said dog.

You have no idea what you're talking about about. Luna is a superstar where ever I take her. I bring for others to lavish her with attention and she fucking loves it.

We were on a bar patio and this drunk was getting belligerent. She sat in front of him and just stared into his eyes

Dude chilled, gave her a pet, then rejoined his pals.

I see grocery stores as essential businesses.  Most people tend to shop at their neighborhood store.  Don't bring your dog, with rare exceptions (service dogs).
Bars and restaurants are non-essential establishments.  If the owner wants to operate a dog-friendly business, it's your fault if you go and don't like the presence of dogs.

It’s not any more complicated than this.
It’s fine, even cool sometimes, to bring your dog where people WANT to go.
It’s a dick move to bring your dog where people NEED to go.

I fully admit to being a bitch when it comes to snakes. Especially when they surprise me. I have gotten better as I have gotten older. Growing up in the country, we were told that the only good snake is a dead snake.  But if I come across that at HEB, I might just stab the sumbitch(owner). Absolutely no reason for that.

And yes, the problem is that store management is not willing to step up and say something in these situations.

wtf is wrong with people that they would ever consider bringing filthy animals around a bunch of raw food?  Why don't we just start up a bunch of wet markets?

And I don't understand why management would ever have a problem kicking animals out.  The health codes provide all the cover you need.

It is fine that there are dog bars.  I don't go to those places.   I think the dog codependent people are strange (the ones that feel the need to take dogs out).  Even cat ladies don't do shit like that or run around showing off their cat to other cat people.

You're failing to see why some bring them along. For me it's because Luna loves meeting people. Brought to the tailgate once. Am I proud of her behavior and health? Absolutely.

Arent parents proud of their crotch goblins for the same reasons?

I’d rather have dogs around than kids. That said, there’s a time and place where neither should be present.

I take it you don't have kids.  No, we don't bring them everywhere we can, because it is sometimes not appropriate.  Furthermore, no matter how well behaved the dog is, it can still impact others due to allergies, though this is really only a concern in indoor locations.

They are, but their kids are much worse than most dogs, and shouldt be kept at the bottom of a well, but the parents feel the need to take them around to prove to people that someone was dumb enough to fuck them.
