We really should have pushed for Ryan Williams instead of Ryan Wingo and sold out for Dakorien Moore instead of settling with Jaime Ffrench and Kaliq Lockett. Our WR room is pretty underwhelming right now. Parker is a legit dude who I would prefer to be our WR #2. If Ryan doesn’t step up his game soon, Arch is going to have to hope that Parker and Endries is enough to keep defenses honest. I’m not sold on DeAndre Moore. He feasts on lower competition but struggles against top tier defenses.

Is this real?

Just say you don’t know anything about either of those recruitments

It might be Livingstone. I'm saying that's not ideal if he is.

Moore/Wingo are #1/#2. Moore is out right now, so that changes things.

Malcolm Williams was the 2nd receiver behind Shipley. That worked out fine.

Billy Pittman was Vince Young's #1 target in 2005.

Livingstone can do very well at Texas. I'm not rooting against him. I'm just saying there's a different level of talent out there that Livingstone simply doesn't possess, and we can't just fandom him into it. It's still a fun story to follow, for sure. I like the way he plays, and I like what he brings to the team. But if he was the most talented wr on the roster I'd be concerned.

Right now Eminem is a more effective WR than Moore or (especially, disappointing as it is) Wingo…

If you woke me up in the middle of the night and put a gun to my head, and demanded that I name two Texas WRs who could not be more different, I might say Parker Livingstone and Quan Cosby.

I’m not sure I believe you. Give me your address and I’ll try it tonight.

But does he roll on Shomer Shabbos?

ETA:  something I should have known but had to look up, Shomer Shabbos refers to observance of the Jewish Sabbath beginning at dusk on Friday and ending at dusk on Saturday.  So the answer is yes, yes he does roll on Shomer Shabbos.

A guy that can take over a game, that's a threat to house it every time they touch the ball.  A guy that lines up all over the field in an attempt to get him those touches. I don't think of Livingstone that way, yet.

A possession receiver is a guy with dependable hands and runs good routes, but offers no breakaway speed.

This is a joke right? Lockett ffrench mccutcheon don’t excite you?

Yeah, I don't get that.

Sorry, I was thinking about #1 receiver, which isn't Livingstone.
Edit: Possession would be the second or third option.

I understand your hopes and needs but Parker is absolutely OUR #1 receiver. He brings the deep threat, seems to have the best hands, and is the only guy that has manned up to fight for a ball and win inside the 10. That short skinny post TD was my favorite play of the day today.

Jordan Shipley and Robert Timmons?

Personally I think it's too late. There's some serious expert embalming work going on with the Rolling Stones. Keith Richards started it a couple of decades ago, but they farmed the guy out to the rest of the band. Weekend at Mick's.

One of my favorite things I heard about Keith Richards was in a meme.  It showed Adam and Eve talking to God, and an old guy sitting under a tree nearby.  Adam asked God who the guy over there was, and God said "I don't know - he was there when I got here."

It’s “Living-ston”

You cannot tell me that Parker Livingston is not high as a kite in this video.  Which is all right by me, because I'm high as a kite and he can ball... for a white guy.  Know what I mean?

Dude is balling out.  For those that have forgotten, Livingstone was offered recruited hard by LSU, aggy, and Texas and ran like a 10.7 in high school.  Dude is a legit WR with track speed.  He’s also tall with long arms.  He was the only one making plays against Ohio State and those were NFL DBs he was playing against.  While CTJ’s predictions and monikers were great offseason humor, you guys better put some respeck on his name!   Can we get a wreath fund together to get a custom “jaggy” jersey for CTJ to wear in his suite?

Shit why stop at Ryan Williams (who is sucking btw) and DK Moore!  We should have also gotten Jeremiah Smith, Julio Jones and AJ Green!  If only we pushed for them, they’d all be longhorns.

On a more serious note, Ryan Williams wouldn’t visit Texas regardless if Texas had a higher NIL package.  Moore gave Texas a silent only to commit to Oregon.  Texas had a ridiculous NIL package for him.  He simply wanted to go out of state.

Also, Wingo and Moore were not some 3 star recruitments.  Both went to the wire and they were against the likes of UGA for Moore and Tenn/Ohio State for Wingo.  Our fans have gotten spoiled with multiple 1st/2nd round NFL WRs the last few years.  Keep in mind, Golden wasn’t even starting and didn’t really come on until halfway through the season.  Let these guys gel and figure out their timing/chemistry before you start demanding that we just get all the #1 WRs every year.  Also, there are currently four 5 star WRs prospects on this roster.  You’re confusing underwhelming with inexperienced.

Yep, one week before my Dad shipped out for the Battle of the Bulge.

I believe you and I have had this conversation before. If I remember correctly we crossed paths through the 50’s and 60’s.
I still run the Columbus area on occasion. Let me know if you are ever in the area, beers are on me…

Thanks, but Mom moved us three boys back to her home state of Missouri two weeks after Dad left for France.
He returned Stateside a couple months after VE Day and was put in charge of a repatriation facility for German POWs in New Orleans.
Never have been back to Georgia since.
