I don't care about your politics.  Charlie's widow's speech was one for the ages.  Explaining to her 3 year-old daughter about where Daddy was.  I cannot even imagine.

So do you have any thoughts on the assassin being a groyper?

Man, I would sure hate to be a groyper then

The only coherent logic I could see for him being a groyper is if he hated Kirk for supporting Israel. Of course, these terminally online, irony poisoned, “did it for the lulz” types aren’t really concerned with logical consistency

Maybe, maybe not. But, to your point, certainly way too soon to declare it. Even if he is proven to be a full-fledged Groyper--and not just Groyper-curious--it's not like they're a tightly-knit ideology with common goals. Just because some apparently hated Kirk for being pro-Israel, who the fuck knows what this dude's deal is.

The groyper war is an anti Kirk movement

Yeah this could certainly be a case of just a weird ass nihilist edgelord type who wanted to kill someone high profile who was in his area. That also appeared to be the case for the Trump shooter. We just don't know yet but man everyone wants to spike the football and be declarative on his motivations. It will be interesting to see what all he was into online. The Discord thing seems to only be him and his roommate communicating as he tried to get the roommate to get the rifle for him after he left it in the woods.

She spoke with Daily Mail on Friday after news of Robinson’s arrest broke. “My son, his dad, is a Republican for Trump,” Debbie told the outlet. “Most of my family members are Republican. I don’t know any single one who’s a Democrat.”
According to the outlet, Robinson’s father, Matt, 48, was the one to turn Tyler into the authorities after he confessed to the grisly crime. Debbie has not been able to get in touch with her son since news of her grandson’s arrest went public.

“I’m just so confused,” Debbie said of her grandson’s arrest. “[Tyler] is the shyest person,” she said. “He has never, ever spoke politics to me at all.”
She insisted that Robinson had “has never, ever gotten in trouble in his life.”

As I said before when people posted what they thought was a donation to Trump's campaign, 4 years is a lifetime especially to an 18 year old so basing anything concrete on a high school friend's statements of when the suspect was in high school now that he's committed this crime at 22 is a massive stretch.

My youngest kid was president of Young Republicans in his high school, (whichI was pretty sure was just him being contrary to his parents’ political views.)   After two years at LSU, hardly a bastion of liberal thought, he was closer to being a socialist.

Which is all to say, yeah, you’re right.

Good for her, sincerely. Whatever keeps youths away from these shittastic dark web nihilistic loser cesspool spirals. Though the lines are a little blurry in this case.

They'd never continue to follow a woman, the people in these atmospheres don't want women leaders....the large following will flow to other young male influencers in that realm.

I wonder where the guy who went to El Paso and murdered 22 brown people got HIS ideas....

I find it FASCINATING that y'all are....today....concerned about violence-inciting political rhetoric.  Quite interesting indeed.  I wonder why that is?

Hit the cycle twice in one day and this wasn't even the middle finger

So, gut feeling, does this seem like someone who was politically obsessed and killed Kirk because Kirk told truths in the public square, and he had to be stopped?

Or just another perpetually online, shit for brains kid radicalized by alt, edgelord, online communities with conflicting or nonsensical politics and grievances (or apolitical/nihilistic)? In the same vein as a very long line of other shooters.

Those messages are going to be released soon. Anyone want to be what they show? I will put a lot of money that they show he was Antifa and hated Kirk. Imma can escrow the money and make the final ruling.

Does anyone here have the courage of their so called convictions?

I know that your husband, and you by association, unleashed hate and division in this country. If you truly want to remember him, get back in the kitchen where he thought all women should be.

But I didn't come by to listen to a trad wife. I just wanted to check and see what horrible, racist, sexist, hateful shit Charlie Kirk has said today. All quiet today, Charlie? Nothing hateful to say? Good for you, keep it up.

Well he definitely hated Kirk. And you tend to think that anyone that believes in civics is antifa, so I'm not sure how you'd settle that bet faithfully. It's looking far more likely that he didn't think Kirk was far enough right, along the lines of Nick Fuente's beef with Kirk.

So weird how you still have no clue how your side operates. Yesterday, it was all "string the shooter up and make them suffer" from your elected thought leaders; now it's "pray for his lost soul." Why do you suppose that it? What do you think changed?

How much

I can go up to 5K for now. Just a friendly wager. The specific wager to be decided by Imma is "Was the asshole who shot Kirk motivated by a far left or a far right perspective?"

From the Guardian

Suspect's high school classmate says Robinson was the only 'leftist' in a family of 'very hard' Republicans

In a phone interview on Friday, someone who said they were friends with Robinson in high school, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that the suspect was “pretty left on everything” and was “the only member of his family that was really leftist”.

The Guardian pulled all the quotes around 4pm, because the supposed source can not accurately remember details about the supposed friendship.

Bang up job by the Guardian figuring out they fell for a very basic hoax, but not after publishing it. I bet their refrigerator is running.

Editor’s note: This article was updated on 12 September 2025 to remove quotes after the verified source who attended high school with Tyler Robinson said after publication that they could not accurately remember details of their relationship.

I think it's pretty obvious that he hated Kirk. If he was antifa, why didn't he mow down all the other MAGAts?

Yes totally, the guy who was raised in a republican household in Utah by a veteran of the sheriff department dad and grew up shooting black rifles and still lived with his parents was for sure an antifa leftie, you are very good at interpreting information.

Already moving goalposts. You said antifa. Most here have already said that he's almost certainly not going to fit into one box, none of these alt edgelord community members do. He's probably going to be a hodgepodge of conflicting batshit grievances.
