Oop, MTG off script again. The problem with loony true believers in politics is that they don’t do the bullshit we

Which really if you think about it is what you want in a representative. Good bad or indifferent, there is an integrity and honesty in having a POV and being ride or die with it and not weaseling and opportunistically dancing as the drums switch beats.

Sir, the menu offers only the following choices:

1  Bat shit crazy

2  Craven coward kneeling in obedience to a fascist overlord

3  Ordinary grifter/crook

4  Breathtakingly incompetent

5  Staggeringly weak and impotent in resisting any of the four types of idiocy/evil listed above

Now, are you gonna order or what?  Because the drive-thru of America's Shittiest Political Future is getting kinda backed up.

I mean, you want the “true believer who won’t do politics and put up with the BS”.

Actually, if you are talking about democracy / representative democracy and the ideal purpose and application, “crazy” might actually be what you want if it’s the will of the people to vote and elect “crazy”, so long as the “crazy” is always and was always transparent and authentic. Remaining “crazy” might actually be the most honest outcome in the sense of what Bozo was saying.

Moar!

I am walking through this for my own education because it seems like Johnson is trying to confuse multiple items.

Johnson is specifically citing Emergency Medicaid use, which does not require legal citizenship paperwork, as a drain on resources. That use by undocumented immigrants represents less than 1% of Medicaid funds seemingly an indication it is not much of an impact. There have been no changes here, as federal law requires hospitals to treat emergency seeking patients. So, no real point of discussion when it comes to current negotiations.

The other issue Johnson leaps into is the narrowing of eligibility for full Medicaid coverage for documented immigrants. The recent Republican bill narrowed eligibility essentially removing the more vulnerable immigrants like refugees, trafficking victims, etc. In reality, a heartless move but seemingly not a big financial impact from my point of view. Democrats do want to repeat this rollback but also not a large part of their negotiation, as their main focus are the credits which the caller does well to highlight.

All this fair?

Sometimes it helps. I typed out my Beef Crisis setlist, I just didn't submit it.

This. A clear editor button would be useful. Sometimes, I get that option, but I haven’t figured out how to get that option on my own.

the fastest way you can clear the editor (on mobile, PC you just ctrl+A and backspace) is refresh your page, then click the text box, which will bring up a "clear editor" little button you can hit

She can still go fuck herself for how she treated the kids in the Parkland shooting. She's the best republican, but that's a low bar.

People should latch onto the “draining of resources”.

I don’t know the $’s associated with emergency care for immigrants but if I had to speculate they are currently  spending infinitely more on the the ICE and national guard bullshit to “solve” something that is a rounding error.

I'm still liking this strategy - the only strategy that might create the possibility of someone in the GOP (like Marjorie) growing a pair.

it really doesn't matter what they try to pin this on until they call it what it is - the epstein shutdown. that is the only issue at hand here and the entire world is being held hostage right now.

I think this one is going to go a long time -- so long that it highlights the question as to whether there is any point to any government.

holiday travel in november will be the first true test. TSA agents are barely a hair removed from bus drivers. They ain't gonna work for free for long.

I mean, they’re making all the spies and cops and ATC and soldiers and doctors, etc work without pay. So you’re getting government, you’re just not paying the people who do it.

Ask yourself if you want your ATC to have missed a paycheck.

Sat next to an ATC in Vegas once at a slot machine for a couple of hours.  He was batshit insane.  I contemplated renting a car and driving us home.

Washington —

In an extraordinary effort to inject politics into millions of Americans’ travel experiences, the Trump administration plans to roll out a video at airports across the United States that will blame Democrats for lapses in Transportation Security Administration workers’ pay because of the government shutdown.

People waiting in airport security lines will now be met with a new video of the Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem addressing the shutdown.

“It is TSA’s top priority to make sure that you have the most pleasant and efficient airport experience as possible while we keep you safe,” she says. “However, Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government, and because of this, many of our operations are impacted, and most of our TSA employees are working without pay.”

Continuing over-the-top violations of the Hatch Act.  From the party of "law and order."  What a fucking joke.  And all of the "WE HAFTA ENFORCE OUR LAWS!" types around here will be 100% fine with this because, of course, it has never, ever, EVER been about the Rule of Law.  It has only been about Wilhoit's law: Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

Republicans get to use "the law" to brutalize whoever they want.  But they never, not even in the slightest, need to follow the law.  Republicans don't believe in the law.  They just believe in being fucking assholes.

So, from my layman's perspective, there's law and then there's order. Goppers don't actually give a shit about the actual law; it's the order part they get raging, pinky-sized hard-ons for.
