I'm happy to see them reject "RINO trash".  It will help dilute the vote.

Let's not kid ourselves.  Proud members of Team R may grumble and have a furrowed brow, but will vote for Trump, Q, whatever all day long.  Anyone that has a D beside their name isn't worth a shit.

It could be an effect in the primaries.  Beyond that, some might stay home in a general election if their candidate doesn't get past the primary.  I agree nobody who identifies as a "Republican" will cross party lines.

jfc these people are legitimately NUTS 😳

i will never, ever understand how supposedly 'smart', educated, 'christian' people can look around their cohorts and see aggy and these MAGA nutjobs and MTG and every other mental degenerate that shares their goals and vision...and somehow still think they are on the right side.

i mean how is that even possible?? the cognitive dissonance is truly astounding. i'd honestly challenge one of our DT denizens to explain, i'm genuinely curious how it feels...😐

Short answer:  those people aren't that smart, didn't pay attention in school, and aren't very "Christian" (assuming we use the teachings of Christ as the standard).

So, frauds.

We were at my nieces birthday party this morning, she’s half-Hispanic, and my MAGA/Qanon decided to not-so-casually mention “wow, there sure are a lot of Hispanics here”.   She just fucking pulled the pin out of that grenade and dropped it amongst her family members.  My brother-in-law (who is the Hispanic half of my niece) was facing another direction but I could tell he probably heard.  This is after she was full Trumpkin back in 2018, found herself barred from multiple birthday parties, and then COVID hit, and then a bunch of us got vaccinated last year and she made sure we all knew that she couldn’t do parties with us because we were shedding proteins.

Had my wife not been there, and caught my eye, I was ready to pop out a “oh, there’s a bunch here because they are going to replace you, and you’ll need to give your car keys to the gentleman over there by the tree”.  I was jonesing so hard, wanting to pop out a replacement comment.

All I could muster was that all of them had jobs and lived in actual buildings with running water and electricity, while she’s in her mid-40s, doesn’t work, and lives off of her parents in a tent in their backyard, shits in a bucket, and she’s screwed the moment her dad dies and the money dries up.

Yeah, I'm kinda outta sympathy for Texas women at this point.  I've literally seen men ask to see their wives ballots as they walk them between the booth and the scanning machine.  Unless you're under direct threat of physical violence...you vote for this MAGA red tide...or sit out the cycle altogether...fuck you.  You deserve what's coming to you.  You don't like cost of groceries or some car break-ins...that's not novel.  You're not a patriot.  You're not unique.  You don't know struggle yet.  The nightmare visited upon my daughters is on your shoulders, not mine.  I did my part.  If you vote MAGA/Dan Patrick/et. al.......you're a fucking cunt and I don't give fuck one what you suffer as a consequence.  I'm tired of pretending like you're a monolith of empowerment and political engagement.  You love to fuck each other over, and if you can't see this as a bridge too far...I hope you get driven off of it and drown.

Remind the Republicans in your life that some of the more powerful Republican legislators want to do away with Social Security and Medicare, and make the Republicans you know defend it.  Of course, some will be on board with it because they don’t rely on it, but use those people as well - make sure they know there are libtards pretending to be Republicans who want to keep socialist programs like Social Security around.  If they do the “well, I don’t support those guys” schtick remind them that these are powerful Republicans who are not being repudiated by their party leaders, and therefore if they are voting Republican next month, they better not complain when the Republicans try to end Social Security and Medicare.

You can make the MAGA types who rely on SS/MC/etc, really uncomfortable if you do the “you know, those Republicans have it right, why do we have Social Security and government healthcare like a socialist nation, after all Social Security and socialism have the word “ social” in them, let’s do away with it, I may have to rethink my leaving the GOP!”

How do you mount a strap on to a blow up doll?

Very carefully.

Dick Cavett has put a lot of his shows up on YouTube, and I was watching this one with Norman Mailer and Gore Vidal, and it’s interesting how much we have devolved in our public discourse when you have people like Trump, Boebert, MTG, or ostensibly educated people like Ted Cruz playing stupid to appeal to his base.
