Miss you bud!  I'd so love to see you, we're out of town this weekend for a family birthday on my wife's side that's actually a precursor to a family funeral, but if you're going to be back in town for the ag game I'd love to arrange a meet-up!

It is week 11 and 0 feel for this team. I am not sure there is a result that would surprise me vs Arkansas.

1. Arkansas is bad on defense. They will come out with some goofy, junk defense to try and confuse Sark. Sark has said he hates when teams throw out a new defenses. They did it last year with success. Not sure if it works this year, but it will be good for some volatility

2. Arkansas can score. Green is killer from a clean pocket. He is not very good in a dirty pocket. Texas will need to get pressure on Green. They also need to clean up the edges, especially on the boundary. Back end needs to make the DE right.

The confidence of the defense has hit a season low, people want to hang Akina in effigy, so this is probably the week the defense unfucks itself. Why? Because that just seems to be what Texas does this year. When you give up on a unit, they prove you wrong. When you start to believe, they crush you.

Born with burnt orange blood...swine will be prepared for a storng 4th quarter...pray Sark has coached up the secondary to play a competitive and penalty free 4Q as well. If not then the all the work in the first three quarters will have been for nada.  Hook'em!! Horns win 27-24.

I've reach a point where trying to predict what this team will do feels like an exercise in insanity.

I will watch the game with high hopes and tempered expectations.

It think this is higher scoring than most anticipate. Texas is certainly capable of putting up a lot of points on Arkansas. I just have zero faith in the offensive game plan being well thought out. Similarly, Arkansas is absolutely capable of putting up points too.

Hope I'm off base, that there is a great game plan and the defeat I saw in some players last game is gone.

Which Texas team are we going to get tomorrow?

While the offense has not exactly bathed itself in glory this season, it at least seems to be moving in the right direction of late.

The defense, however, is a different story.

In the first five games of the year, Texas was giving up 260 yards a game. In the last five, that figure is up to 375 yards a game.

in other words, Texas has an improving offense with a defense headed in the opposite direction.

And that’s exactly why people are somewhat confounded by this Texas team.

**

I hope we see a consistent offense tomorrow combined with a defense that can get off the field on third and long.

On offense, there will be open receivers for the Horns, there will be ample space in the Arkansas secondary. But consistent pass protection and good down and distance situations are absolutely key.

On the other side, the defense doesn’t have to be perfect, nor should we expect it. Arkansas has a really good offense. But the Texas D needs to get off the field on third and long, they must take advantage of those opportunities to get off the field.

**

Even though this game could become a shootout, I’m sticking with my original prediction of 31-28 Longhorns.

Texas needs to show some pride, a backbone and some consistency on both sides of the ball if they want to set up a do-or-die game with the Aggies that the Horns actually look like they could win.

That two-sided “consistency” - from both offense and defense - has to happen tomorrow.

Scariest game of the year. Arky can fucking score.

If we dont roll out the blowU/Vandy game plan, I like Arky 31-24ish

Arky winning a one possession game?  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Aren't they like 1-30 in those types of games the last few years?

Yeah well...it is 2025 Texas. It's going to be painful.

Just hope our luck continues in these close games.

I may have been true in the past but over 50% of the kids at UArk now are from Texas. We've made the drive there 7 times in 2 years (with TexasEX stickers on the cars) and have never had an issue. (When is the last time you have even seen a gas station "attendant" at a pump anywhere...)

I can’t wait to see the first 3rd and 6 and our corners line up 12 yards off

On a 3rd and 3. Quick slant nets the three plus found yards after catch. Can’t believe how easily Florida and Georgia found receivers.

I’ll stick with my 34-30 prediction for the Horns from earlier in the week. We have shown we can win shootouts against bad defenses and Arkansas has shown that can play close but find a way to lose against everyone.

I’ve had a little late optimism after looking at the line. I don’t bet, but I’ve always thought when the line is begging you to play in one direction, that usually means the opposite position is correct. Texas -10 or even now down to -8 seems like it’s begging for a play on Arkansas plus the points. So maybe we win more comfortably than I am expecting.
