I'm hearing a lot of chatter from my sources that the Horns aren't done recruiting yet. The staff is still evaluating players, the kind of players that you want to play football. I don't want to tip my hand just yet, but let's just say that things are happening behind the scenes, but that's not a guarantee that anything will come from it. But one thing is for sure: something will happen, unless it doesn't, in which case nothing will happen.

I like the cut of your jib. My guess is that if nothing happens, then something REALLY happened. Best we not know more.

Well, of course, their requests for subsidies was not Paraguayan in and of it is as it were the United States government would never have if the president, our president, had not and as far as I know that's the way it will always be. Is that clear?

A real layup from the 3 point line for the staff. An And-1, missed free throw, kick it to the top of the key, turnover, steal it back, 3 pointer in the net type of effort.

My sources tell me we're up 2 with 4 to play.  That's better than up 1 with 5 to play which is where we were before.  But if certain things happen this week that I can't tell you about, we'll only be up 1 with 3 to play.  That's still better than up 1 with 5 to play, so things are trending in the right direction.

Justin Wells recruiting notes

BIJAN ROBINSON

Texas was in attendance Friday nighty for Salpointe Catholic (AZ) five-star tailback and UT pledge Bijan Robinson. He was....impressive.

Robinson scored five touchdowns, on nine carries in victory. He also broke Ka'Deem Carey’s record as Tucson's all-time leading rusher with 5,072 career yards. With Tom Herman and Stan Drayton in attendance, the 6-foot, 200-pounder put on a show, albeit brief.

His talent is apparent. He's got terrific vision and patience. He effortlessly changes pace, and turns and burns. He's threat to score from anywhere on the field. He adds burst to the second level and just leaves defenders. He's that dude.

To ask him, he's just humble. He praises God, family, and his teammates. To ask him why he chose UT, that's even easier.

"Just a great environment," said Robinson. "With the players, coaches, and the vibe of the city, it's just a great family atmosphere."

Robinson has ball-player in his family. His uncle, Paul Robinson, was a RB at Arizona and later in the NFL after he was drafted in the 3rd round by the Cincinnati Bengals in 1968.

Bijan is as solid today as he was when he committed in August. He'd like to make it back for a game this fall, and could visit in December as well. His tape continues to be Hudl porn.

KELEE RINGO

Texas sent the cavalry out to Saguaro (Scottsdale, AZ) on Friday night to check out one of the nation's top athletes. Coach Herman, coach Washington, and coach Beck were in attendance to watch the 6-foot-2, 205-pound elite corner and top UT target. With 31 tackles, one INT, and one forced fumble, Ringo is picking up where he left off his junior year.

Sources close to the recruitment tell me Ringo was happy to see the burnt orange contingent on the sidelines. The five-star stays in regular contact with CB coach Jason Washington and maintains he's still open in his pursuit. Two teams stand out of his 34 offers - Georgia and Texas.

In Georgia, he sees a program on the rise playing in the physical SEC. He likes the defensive staff and his mother might don some Bulldogs gear.

In Texas, he sees a program that's a few players away from making a national title run. He sees a big family and a big opportunity to face some of the best offenses in that country in the Big 12.

No matter the odds, Texas is all in here. Ringo will take an OV to Austin, I’d guess after Big12 play around late November, early December. I believe UT is starting to feel some slight confidence here. And for good reason. Georgia is still the ahead of the pack, but the Horns are catching up, one phone call at a time.

KITAN CRAWFORD

The John Tyler four-star athlete and Texas pledge is trying to do it all.

When he's not playing corner for Cujo, he's playing running back for the offense. It's clear Crawford is the best player on the field. On Texas High's first possession, he snagged his fourth INT of the season. On the following position, he tipped a pass that was picked off by his teammate. After that, the Tigers didn't go to his side of the field much more that evening.

On offense, he's carrying the load. He had 20+ carries on Friday night, but it wasn't until the fourth when the hits start stacking up. At one point, he refused to go down, and after a pile of Tigers jumped on him, he limped off the field. Two plays later, he was back toting the rock. That's a lot to handle every Friday night.

“Man, I just want to do everything I can to help (JT) win,” said Crawford. "Offense, defense, it doesn't matter."

And that hit in the fourth? "I did something to my hip. It's just real sore."

I estimated Crawford played 80% of the night, which in HS football isn't unordinary, but after five weeks, the wear and tear starts to build up. In Crawford's mind, he doesn't care. John Tyler beat T-High, 16-0 in its first district game. That 'W' is all that matters to Crawford.

Crawford doesn't hear from many schools. They all know where he's going. He hopes to make it up to Dallas in two weeks for the Red River Shootout.

He appeared to hurt his hip during a fourth quarter run. He told me afterwards he used to being beat up after games.

I applaud his winning spirit and dedication, but also hope the John Tyler staff doesn’t overuse a kid that’ll allow it.

I hear we're in on a name player, but the pull of an out-of-state program promising immediate starting time and comparing him to a cross between Mel Renfro and John Hannah may be too much to overcome. We'll see if their high school coach can bring some clarity to the situation, but there may be other factors. If so, things could start to look up for Texas who worked their way to strong second place with good home visits.

if you are going to make comparisons to players, how about if you at least pick players who have played in the last 30 years. i mean at least Renfro played DB but what does an OL have to do with it? especially when both guys basically went to their in state schools (Oregon & Bama)?

this is a comparison that is totally and entirely confusing - and not in a Hank Scorpio funny kind of way.

Roach mentioned this in his recruiting post today: “There are a few other prospects that Texas is involved for right now. I can’t get into those names at this time, but there are irons in the fire behind the scenes. The Texas staff is at a place where they can be a bit choosier when it comes to filling out this class.”

i get it - people love shitting on every $9.95er. but is it not exhausting to shit on every post they make that isn't a full on commitment post?

you are following high school recruiting of teenagers. this is far from an exact science, and if the only things any of these insider fucks posted was what they were 100% sure of and backed up by two legit sources it, this thread would be like 200 total posts, not 36k and climbing.

i am not defending any insider, nor am i saying any of them are fucking great or worth the money - but if you already are going to shit on everything that Roach, Wells, Nahlin, etc write...

1) why are you on this thread/the recruitment board?

2) why are you wasting the time to click on, much less actually read the spoiler'd post?

3) why are you wasting everyone's time to say that the post you just read is full of nothing?

no, seriously. why in the fuck are you all even here in this thread?

Personally,  I just don’t like it when the 995ers say shit that can hurt our recruiting efforts.
