Regarding Hale’s decision this week - he wants to go to Texas. If Sarkisian wants to make sure the NIL is there for a guy like that once on campus, he commits to Texas. Word is that is where it is headed.50 points

I thought it was obvious we had a big letdown first half. Just played half asleep. Got caught napping. That we were able to turn it on and win by 21 after being down 10 is not what this team could do last year. Already growth in that area28 points

LG: It’s too bad UTSA has to punt here. Casey Worthy is back for the Horns Acho: Did I mention the UTSA safety wears #0 which is an honor because 1.4 million people live in Area Code 210, an artificial geographic designation created by AT&T? The 210 is also on their helmets. That’s cool. LG: The field point is good by Brett Osborne and the Roadrunners trail by only 12, 41-20 but Coach Traylor has this team believing that with another good drive this could go in the win column. Acho: Heh, heh, yes, these UTSA receivers can really play and they have the trust of their QB and the coaches. LG: Can Texas withstand this onslaught by Coach Traylor’s great team? The Roadrunners are in the driver’s seat here, what with one or more of the Texas linemen being stupid. Acho: The Texas defensive line is being moved backwards every play which is one reason UTSA has put up so many points this second half. LG: UTSA is only a score, an onside kick, a score, an onside kick, a score, and a 2 point field goal away from putting another loss on this Texas team after they got beat up by Alabama. Sark won’t have much to build on going forward. Acho: Heh, heh, I just want to thank Mack and Ol’ Freak Nasty for making me the jolly Longhorn Legend I am today and let me just say how hard that UTSA running back is running. He’s dominating. LG: And that’s the game with the Roadrunners losing a close one here at DKR. Michael, give me a thumbs up and wave if you’re having a good.. um… … … … evening.26 points

I mean those were certainly very successful plays but sensational? The ball went right to that DB. Those were pretty nice holes Bijan ran through. It wasn't like we were making circus one handed catches or spinning Barry Sanders like through 18 tackles. We rushed for 300 yards, they recorded zero sacks...yet their DL gave us all we could handle? Then fucking hope every defensive line gives us all we handle if that is what counts as domination these days. Our defense was all over their QB all day, they rushed for three yards a carry. Sure we never could actually get to the guy but that is their OLine giving us all we could handle? Well I hope every OLine gives us all we can handle then. This is crazy talk. UTSA played well but stop smoking crack, this was not some UTSA domination overcome by circus impossible plays by UT. That's fucking ridiculous. You are just making shit up.19 points

If you switched QB’s we would have won by 50. If you watch college football and can’t understand why we went 5-7 last year after watching Card and Thompson I can’t help you. Very excited for the WB situation to be fixed for at least the next 3.5 years with Ewers and Arch. Need another good one 1.000 type in 25 and find a program back up that’s a little better than what we have in 24 and this team is going to be fine for a long time.19 points

this is the fourth or fifth "fuck lowell galindo in the face with a soldering iron" thread on this site. there were several more at TOS. he's literally my least favorite person ever to be associated with the university, and that includes charles whitman.19 points

How many starting quarterbacks in the country are clearly better than Frank Harris? 5? Dude is so consistent, every time he got flushed from the pocket you just knew he'd find someone half a yard past the first down marker. Frustrating as hell for UT fans but that dude is amazing.18 points

Those are great type of games in my opinion. You could tell they came out hungover from last week. Down 10 last season the team would have quit. They bounced back and won by double digits. They seem to have learned to win. Now learning to win on the road is different. Let's see how far they have come18 points

We just beat a team by 21 points with our backup quarterback, who, as has been pointed out, has the anticipation of Helen Keller, the week after the program’s biggest game in at least 3-years. UTSA broke out all the stops and this team didn’t fold. They in fact responded by bitch slapping UTSA in the second half. It was a solid win, given the circumstances. Card just has to see it before he throws and once he sees it, he still holds it for a tick. Every throw even the solid completions down field, which there are few, are late. That’s the difference in a combine quarterback and real player, anticipation.17 points

The Traylor fan club will make any excuse and rationalize that scoring 20 (3 in the second half) and losing by 21 to a Hudson Card led offense is worthy of the sloppy blowjob they’re all lining up to give Traylor this morning. Unfortunately for them, Galindo isn’t letting else get in line16 points

That fucking run when he was gimpy and he still gutted out a first down is all I needed to see. The dude is not Ewers but he's working his ass off for this team. Now, it's up to you Charlie but you might considering cutting the kid a little slack.16 points

Yeah, if it wasn't for all those TDs and FGs we scored in the second half, this game would have been much closer. I understand the first half was definitely frustrating, but UTSA threw everything they had at us and played their best half of football, and Texas was pretty much sleepwalking, but the game was still tied at half. We kicked the shit out of them in the second half. Take the win.15 points

Targeting is the absolute worst thing to have ever happened to the sport. It's virtue signaling bullshit to appease people who don't even watch. No actual college football fan wants that call in the game. It's fucking garbage.15 points

JT has also been making some of the most clutch blocks taking his man and sometimes 2 out of run plays. He’s a devastating Blocker.14 points

You're fucking retarded if you think Traylor outcoached Sark in a game where he lost by 21. Sark was damn near playcalling with his hands tied due to QB.12 points

First time since 2011, the Texas defense has held the 1st 3 opponents to 20 points or less.12 points

I could waste a lot of words saying stuff about last week against UTSA, or this week against Texas Tech, but I’m going to instead keep it incredibly simple here: QB is important. Really important. if we had switched QB’s with SA before the game last night we’d have won by 50. If Quinn would have played we likely would have never trailed and that game would have looked like the classic VY teams going out and bludgeoning fools. If Quinn plays next week in Lubbock (and I suspect he’s going to) we win in a walk (yes I know Lubbock is scary blah blah blah). If Card plays it’s going to be a dog fight and we might start conference season with a loss to one of the 3 weakest teams in the conference. Be happy we have a stud QB for the next 3.5 years. Pray for their health. Because if Sark has his guy and keeps them upright this team is going to be a bitch to handle for the next decade or so. All Tech game Week stuff here. Please 8 pound 6 oz baby Jesus let Ewers play and then we just go stomp a Mudhole in their ass.11 points

I write in response to the comments about UTSA fans. I would like to offer a counter perspective. I have engaged in misdeeds, debauchery, gluttony and wild rioting in their city. Unknown statutes of limitations prevent me from elaborating in great detail but I can share this tidbit. I know how to recover a personal vehicle from the Alamo Area Narcotics Task Force. I raise this because it is possible that their bad behavior was either learned from me, or in response to my prior actions. I know for a fact that others on this message board occupy a similar position. I’m willing to tolerate their fan jackassery - kinda feel like I deserve it. I suggest that, if anything, we might owe a general apology to the good people of San Antonio. I’m confident I do.10 points

SP+ update has Texas at #14, at at #8 on offense and #35 on defense. Reminder that it had us at #86 on defense at the end of last year Preseason: 22, 8, 51 Post Week 1: 18, 8, 47 Post Week 2: 16, 7, 40 Post Week 3: 14, 8, 3510 points

The sooner some of y'all realize Card is a backup, a hobbled one at that and a solid game manager, the better off you'll be. We did exactly what we wanted to in this game. Run the ball, take some shots down the field, get the ball to playmakers in space. While, yes, the first half was a little uncomfortable, they stuck with it, outscored them 34-3 from the 2nd Q on, and won by 3 td's. I'll take that.10 points
-
He was in for one play that I saw and he was streaking wide open down the field. I mean WFO. Unfortunately, Hudson Card reads plays at a pace that would make a slug blush, so he never saw him and did something weak in lieu of throwing deep to him. Whatever it was. I just remember being disappointed.10 points
-
Facemask to helmet is not targeting. Agent Zero pulled up and lifted his helmet up to not lower his crown into Frank's helmet. That will easily be overturned when Texas sends in the tape. The fact that refs can review that and still say it was targeting is total bullshit. Then Card takes a late hit while sliding and nothing is thrown. It's all performative bullshit.10 points
-
It's the fact that some jackass in the booth can stop a game to find a penalty that wasn't called on the field that annoys me. The targeting rule as an idea was put in for safety and it should be there. But if it's not called on the field, it should not be reviewable.10 points
-
I don't agree with you. But the targeting call tonight was dumb. Easy, but dumb. And while it won't make me stop watching college football, Greenspointe is on to something. 30 years ago refs could steal a game (see: Grant Teaff's final game) but with 9 cameras and video replay there's no excuse any more.10 points
