Jimbo 2022: Balls To The Face

Jimbo left fsu so full of character risks that it has taken two coaches to clean it up. I wonder if this starts to catch up with him at a&m. While this sort of thing happens everywhere, it could be a one off or a larger trend.

That's the knock on him, right? It's not that he can't coach or recruit. It's that he runs an extremely loose ship.

On McKinnley Jackson, from someone who is supposed to be an insider.

I do sympathize with Jackson. With his measurables, he could play dead the next two seasons become a millionaire.

Now his path is a bit more cloudy. I assume he'll get some pretty rigid probation, and have to go the JUCO route for a semester or two. He'll probably pop up at Tennessee in 2023.

"Little brother" begins to sound too friendly for these hateful, terrified clowns.

We used to say, "A&M is like a little brother who's annoying but he's in the family so you put up with it."

It's really no longer apt, but does serve a purpose in infuriating the poor Aggies.

Okay, just thinking out loud. Little brother it is.

I can't WAIT to be in a stadium in the 4th quarter where we've beaten them and hearing the UT faithful scream out "POOOOOOOORRRRRRRRR AGGGGGIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!"  It's going to be glorious.  Their heads are going to explode.  From all of the aggys I know (which is a lot), NOTHING got under their skin more than this.  Now they'll have to endure it once again.

Daylon Mack got drafted in 5th round by the Ravens. He was a 5-star out of high school but couldn't keep his weight off and was a 3rd down bull rush specialist in Sumlin's program.

Anthony Hines III was never a 5-star but a 4-star; he had a decent school career but was injured and missed time, then skipped the last year to get ready for the draft...went undrafted, is with the Cowboys. Someone gave him bad advice to skip school/leave early. Buddy Johnson was a lower-rated linebacker and yet got drafted in the 4th round by the Steelers in the last draft. I would say he got developed. How much depends on the players and how much on the corches to make the most of the talent and to sharpen it? Hines was likely also unlucky in having to start in his freshman year itself and there by suffering a shoulder injury needing an offseason surgery. Anytime you can redshirt a freshman and build that body up is likely a good sign.  The linebacers A&M will start this season aren't freshmen... Andre White and Antonio Doyle could possibly be future NFL draftees.

You're being absolutely disingenuous by not disclosing the full story on Daylon Mack. To give him credit for a full NFL season is being generous.

Of course, you're aggy. You never lie, cheat, or steal but stretching the truth is okay.

The Aggy 247 site had some posters that seem to insinuate that it wasn't Jimbo that caused FSU's downfall. I know we're talking about Aggy here but Jimbo's propensity to take risks on kids with serious character issues and play favorites with prima donna players is EXACTLY why FSU had a culture problem. I know they want to stick their head in the sand because they were the only ones stupid enough to pay that hillbilly $75M guaranteed but facts are facts. Apparently this "upward trajectory" they think they have directly contradicts Fisher tanking FSU's program. Quite the contrary. It shows the guy can recruit but not much else.

wtf do i care about Daylon Mack's "full story"? I've had this conversation here with someone else in the past; schools/coaches should get credit for the players drafted... what they do beyond the draft, how their pro careers pan out is up to the players. There are far too many variables  when it comes to assigning blame/credit for any players. That's why these things tend to get talked about in the aggregate-- as a program, or as a coach's career history, etc. As a program, is there any doubt that UT has has more success than A&M in putting players in NFL?

But this is your board, so type whatever makes you feel happy and makes you feel better.

I thought you would have settled on never going to College Station in the first place. With shiny Austin doing so well and all... it's a miracle any player more than a 3-star even makes it to College Station and then manages to stay there a few years.  A&M should just roll up the campus and move it to Austin at this point.

Here is a rehab link that seems relatively accurate on the street costs of assorted drugs. https://www.rehabcenter.net/the-average-cost-of-illegal-drugs-on-the-street/

Quote

The Cost Of Ketamine

Ketamine is a drug with pain-blocking and hallucinogenic qualities. This drug is taken for recreation to amplify experience and well-being.

  • Ketamine is found in the form of powder, pill, and liquid.
  • Ketamine, or “Special K,” costs $25 on average per dose (50-100mg).
  • The effects may last for 4-6 hours.

Only reason I looked it up was the $20K cost estimates on the ketamine.

The one thing I think the average college kid simply does not know is that that little THC vape pen is the same as carrying round like 5 pounds of weed.  It's a pretty crazy difference in penalty.  Some kid I remember got charged on the weight of his brownies..

Y'all are probably best served to keep the Sing Sing On the Brazos where it is. Makes Austin look even better in comparison, no? Especially now that we're both in the same conference once again, likely same division/pod too.

See, win-win.

The largest private employer in Bryan-College Station is a chicken processor. Congrats on that aggy ingenuity and aggy network.

From watching the White Lotus I understand the upside to this is potentially sexing up a high school girl with a massive rack and the downside is sticking your face between another man's ass cheeks. So experiences may vary and all that

Bottom line is that it was a bad draft pick.  They cut him to get the roster down to 80 on August 1.

Five other teams also took a chance on him, and quickly divested themselves of his fat ass.  Lots of stupid in the NFL, but for Mack the acronym is appropriate - Not For Long.

what a fantastic show that is. the music is nuts! the best part is Alexandra Daddario.

to make this post about college recruiting and shit...  HBO just announced they're extending the show to another season but it'll be whole new cast, and even new location-- won't be in Hawaii. No points for guessing that it won't be set in College Station either and the storyline won't involve middle aged college football crazed men trying to get high school recruits to commit to their favorite college team by enticing them with all sorts of goodies (Alexandra Daddario in a new role? hmmm). ;):D

So do you put his current status on the foot of Sumlin and his corches? Or at A&M's football program writ large? The dude can't stay in shape, apparently.  Happens. Or you guys are still mad about him doing the whole #WRTS thing? At least he got some money from the Ravens. Maybe he can find a spot on a Canadian team, then come back to the NFL?

Among NFL DTs, looks like Kingsley Keke and Bobby Brown are on active rosters. And after next year's draft there will be at least one or two more.

Why would I be mad when his pop got paid by aggy for saying “We Ruin this State”?  Truer words were never spoken.😉

Don’t know who I’d blame for underperformance, but attempting to turn him into a success is disingenuous.  JMO.
