Nope.  Setting up a 501c3 right now.  This is a preview of November.  I don't care how they vote.  Just that they do so.  And have the ability to do so.

This is GOP vote suppression.  And I am not going to stand for it.  Fuck them.  Let's get these people some snacks.

Not a Texas lawyer - the item must be made available to anyone whether or not they vote. Cannot condition item on voting. Sounds like you understand the niceties. But the penalties are severe and prison sentences have been imposed. In Texas, dot your i's and cross your t's.

I think you have a wonderful idea.

[sorry didn't see your last post. my post is directed at sending those poor people pizza waiting in line]

we didn’t get out of our weho polling place until 9:30pm. several pizzas were ordered, and it helped.

overall, it was set up very poorly - i’ll get into it tomorrow. but the area with pizzas (and stickers) was available to the general public, you didn’t actually have to vote to get them.

when it’s all set up, i too will chip in. fuck pizza, let’s just call the guys at pluckers.

Four thoughts from a dumbass:

1.  Can we just say it’s Biden v Trump now?  I’m kind of over Dems bodying each other out for the Presidential rebound.  Let’s Get Ready To Rummmmmmmmbbbblllllle!

2.  Biden is kind of meh, but Biden vs Trump is a bad matchup for Trump.  There’s a reason Trump was preemptively trying to tear down Biden in an underhanded way with the Ukraine bullshit. And a reason the Russians were trying to boost Sanders.  If the Dems and Biden are smart, they make this Obamaism vs Trumpism.  If they can effectively do that, the Dems win and Trumpkins will have to pound dirt about how out-of-touch 60% of America is.

3.  Assuming Trump and the Russians can’t engineer Bernie as Trump’s opposition gives me more hope for a mostly free and fair election.  I am sure we haven’t heard the last of Hunter and the Ukraine, but the impeachment showed anyone without an orange mushroom in their mouth that this it is nothing more than a partisan political hit job.  It and any other “bombshells” coming from the right and the Russians concerning Biden have little credibility with anyone who isn’t drinking from the Hannity/Rush firehouse.  Perhaps I was wrong with my criticism of the Dems impeachment efforts?

4.  Trump as a comedic genius:  What will be hysterical is when Trump pantomimes Biden by slurring his speech and misspeaking stupidly and no one can tell it’s a joke, pointed at Biden or at all different from the rest of Trump’s speech.

I agree with point 2 completely.

im no political analyst but, does anyone see Biden actually losing any states that Clinton won?  Virginia just had 2008 level turnout and that state was one that trumpers were hoping to flip. Nevada and New Mexico?  Yeah right. I can’t see minorities showing up to vote em masse for someone who calls their relatives and friends a bunch of criminals.

Biden should beat trump in Pennsylvania. It’s a homefield advantage for him.   The main reason trump won Wisconsin and Michigan is because blacks didn’t show up to vote for Hilary in both Detroit ( MI) and Milwaukee? I think is the city. Biden will turn out those black people. He proved that last night.

i don’t like some of Biden’s policies. I wish the next democrat president would be more friendly to weed reform, but the main objective and the main reason people voted last night was electability. They want someone who can beat trump.  They are sick of having some fucking orange moron for president who acts like a fucking child while he suggests we nuke hurricanes in the sky and give people flu shots while telling them they’re now safe from coronavirus.

at least with Biden, you know the house is probably safe, we can still make a run at the senate, and the Texas Democrats can still compete for the house on the state level. Republicans and the GOP were hoping to face Bernie, they wanted to use him to get back the suburbs, they wanted chaos, they want things to be shaken up and they wanted to nationalize ALL of the races while hoping Bernie would bring down ballot carnage to the democrats so that Trump and the GOP could go back to passing policies that only 25-30% of the country agrees with.

A trump presidency is 10x more unbearable when that fucking idiot has full control of government. Remember, he actually has the audacity to blame the democrats for things not getting done while he has total control. Fuck that orange piece of shit. I hope he gets the fucking corona virus.

Yep. I’m much more progressive but I’ll respect the vote. I’m really surprised how he turned out the voting numbers and how well he did with black voters and in the suburbs. That could flip the states that need to be flipped. Fair or not Hillary was toxic and it seems Biden might be pulling some “moderate dems” back in. I’m still Team Brisket that the orange baboon will be installed as king by the hoards of red hat deplorables but the stats are promising that maybe, just maybe, decency might prevail.

In fairness, I voted early for Bloomberg because I had no idea who the heck to vote for. I’m in my early 30’s and I personally think the country isn’t ready to vote for a socialist for president. If people showed up yesterday, Bernie had tons of enthusiasm, young people and disengaged voters actually showed up, and Bernie won tons of states. I would’ve voted for Bernie in the fall no problem, but what I keep going back to is the Democratic electorate mainly wants someone who can win. It’s about getting rid of trump above all else right now.

And shit--I don't know what I have been thinking.  Brisketexan and I have been thinking about turnout.  We should subsidize food trucks to sit outside of polling places and give out free food to people standing in line.  We'll pay.  Just vote.
Fuck--I might be able to set up a 501©(3) and get a tax deduction out of that.
In.

Bloomberg shot himself in the dick and the less popular centrists dropped out.  The people who had been supporting them coalesced behind Biden.

What I’m wondering is,  was this really Bernie’s plan?

did he expect Klobuchar, Buttigieg, etc. to all stay in and have Bernie literally winning states with 30% of the overall voteshare per state?

thank god we avoided that disastrous result.

Even if I was a Bernie bro, I wouldn’t want to win in that fashion. Trumpkin’s would be having a field day with those kind of results right now while they would be beckoning for moderate Dems to vote for trump to “ avoid a socialist” and trump would actually expand his outreach to black voters.

its painfully obvious that Trump and the GOP badly want to face Bernie and there’s a reason for that. Don’t give those miserable disgusting people what they want.

Is Biden really ahead by all that much? I was glancing at the Twitter trends, and the bots and angry people are up in arms, but the delegate count the last time I checked didn't look insurmountable so why are the Sanders supporters so upset? The #RiggedPrimary hashtag may be foreign propelled, but there were non bot accounts that were on a tear. While Twitter /= all voters, I guess I'm naive in thinking why do people throw in the towel when there are still more delegates remaining? If this is about power, wouldn't you still want to have as many as possible so you can bring that to the table?

Not saying they should, but after 2016, I think many are starting to feel like the system is rigged.

And if you really think Trump wants to face Bernie, you're living in a dream world.  We just had a mega donor for the GOP, and healthcare lobbyist...who also happens to somehow also be a Super delegate for the Dems (seems like a conflict) pushing for a brokered convention if Bernie were leading the field.

According to the NYT results tracker, they are estimating delegate results as Biden 390 and Sanders 330.  I assume folks are making projections about the likely results of the remaining states when saying the contest is over.

It depends on CA. If Warren and/or Bloomberg reach 15% threshold, Sanders could be in trouble given the states that are left. It’s expected, for ex, that Biden cleans house in FL and GA. Recent polls in Mich favor Biden- that would be a huge blow to Sanders too. Becoming more and more likely Biden will lead in delegates and votes going to the convention.

Bernie bro’s are triggered because he needed big delegate lead after today and he didn’t get it.

the map favors Biden now.  Biden has a lot of states in the Midwest where he will be favored, Biden has proven he can fight Bernie in the northeast, Biden will probably sweep the south.

What does Bernie have?   I see Bernie getting Oregon, Washington, and a few insignificant red states like Idaho and Wyoming.

Thanks for the explanation. Warren and Bloomberg are sitting at 14% right now from the info I saw.

The way the system works where folks vote strategically as opposed to the candidate who's platform they prefer is a shame. The same way that Trump has taken over the GOP and turned it into the Trump Party. It doesn't bode well. I get it; it is what it is, but it's a weird game. I was a medium info voter before and always voted for the candidate I supported in the primary without worrying about the rest of it. These last two election cycles have been eye-opening. Thanks to all who have informed and passionately supported their chosen candidates. Oh, and the cynics, too. There is a place for cynicism in America even if the host/hostess seats you in the dimly lit corner.

It's why I was rooting for Warren so hard. Good platform, female, and I was going to be amazed if Trump and Co. were going to be able to get the American people to buy a fake Ukrainian probe into any companies or conflicts she might have had. But they have planted the seed of doubt with Biden and I have no doubt that Pompeo is sitting on some real or fake info that is about to be released in the coming months. They would have had something for Sanders as well. which combined with the Commie/Socialist attacks would have resonated with certain voters. They have a deep well of money and people will be coming forward. It's going to get real ugly.

You’re crazy if you don’t think that Trump would prefer to face Bernie. He would much rather face off with an 80 year old socialist that he could galvanize his base against. Biden keeps the moderate vote and the minority vote in play which could damage more localized races for the R’s. From the results last night, most of the movement from other candidates is to Biden which should equate to solid numbers in November over Bernie’s base which is inconsistent at best. Biden coming out of this uncontested with a solid base is a worst case scenario for the Trump re-election. The D’s may still screw that up, but at this point it should be Biden if the goal is to beat Trump.

and it’s reasonable that Bernie supporters are upset with the results but this isnt 2016 when insider superdelegates went with Hillary against many of the voters. 2020 has voters rejecting Bernie. Most Dems don’t want a revolution they want to go back to 2015.

Rigged by a guy with no money that won in states he did not visit. It is a rejection of Bernie and that side of the party.

Worked for Trump.  He didn't hit 50% in any state primary until New York on April 19.  You have to give the establishment Dems credit for clearing the field and getting behind one candidate early enough to stop that from happening.

Trump is a child tossing 3rd grade nicknames.  It's not surprising you'd compare it to Robin Williams given your history of posting 3rd grade level memes in the comic relief thread.

Wrong.

Bernie could’ve made a dent with working class people. In the Midwest. Biden probably ossifies black vote, but it was already so high that may not even matter. Also, disaffected Trump voters don’t really dislike Bernie, but Biden comes from the Obama/Hillary/DNC line.

Plus Biden will have some gaffes in high pressure situations unlike we’ve ever seen before when he has his “bad days”.

Has Biden released his full health records? How much Aricept is he taking?

It worked for Trump because republican voters don’t care about things like facts and they also don’t care about what the majority thinks.

For the GOP, as long as you show up, talk like the whole world is out to get you, bring up farfetched conspiracy theories, hate people who aren’t white, hate the poor, and want to help the rich.....you’re good!

They are the one segment of the Democrats that are not voting to defeat Trump.  They are voting to elect Bernie.  If they don't get that they don't care who wins because they see minimal difference between Republicans and establishment Democrats (which in their mind is any Democrat to the right of them, which is pretty much every Democrat this side of AOC and Omar).  They are the electorate version of kamikaze pilots.

Trump and the GOP had an unprecedented amount of opposition research to unload on Clinton with all of the Wikileaks stuff. Remember Comey also re-opened his investigation into Clinton right before the election. Hilary never campaigned in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan because she thought they were in the bag.

trump won Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania by a combined 70,000 votes give or take.

I just don’t see Biden being as flawed of a candidate as Clinton and I also don’t see him making the same mistakes as Clinton either.
