They can definitely mess up your cycles. My friend’s wife was freaking out after their 13 year old got vaccinated because she didn’t have one for 3 months afterward. Pretty weird. AFAIK it’s fine now.

Just so everyone has the actual language from the study and can compare it to this anecdote:

https://journals.lww.com/greenjournal/Fulltext/9900/Association_Between_Menstrual_Cycle_Length_and.357.aspx

Quote

We analyzed prospectively tracked menstrual cycle data using the application “Natural Cycles.” We included U.S. residents aged 18–45 years with normal cycle lengths (24–38 days) for three consecutive cycles before the first vaccine dose followed by vaccine-dose cycles (cycles 4–6) or, if unvaccinated, six cycles over a similar time period. We calculated the mean within-individual change in cycle and menses length (three prevaccine cycles vs first- and second-dose cycles in the vaccinated cohort, and the first three cycles vs cycles four and five in the unvaccinated cohort). We used mixed-effects models to estimate the adjusted difference in change in cycle and menses length between the vaccinated and unvaccinated cohorts.

***

Overall, COVID-19 vaccine was associated with a less than 1-day change in cycle length for both vaccine-dose cycles compared with prevaccine cycles (first dose 0.71 day-increase, 98.75% CI 0.47–0.94; second dose 0.91, 98.75% CI 0.63–1.19); unvaccinated individuals saw no significant change compared with three baseline cycles (cycle four 0.07, 98.75% CI −0.22 to 0.35; cycle five 0.12, 98.75% CI −0.15 to 0.39). In adjusted models, the difference in change in cycle length between the vaccinated and unvaccinated cohorts was less than 1 day for both doses (difference in change: first dose 0.64 days, 98.75% CI 0.27–1.01; second dose 0.79 days, 98.75% CI 0.40–1.18). Change in menses length was not associated with vaccination.

* * *

CONCLUSION:

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination is associated with a small change in cycle length but not menses length.

And directly related to Immaculate Vibes anecdote:

Quote

Although statistically significant, the overlaid histograms show a cycle length change distribution in vaccinated individuals that is roughly equivalent to that in unvaccinated individuals (Fig. 2A, left), and the proportion of individuals who experienced a clinically significant change in cycle length of 8 days or more did not differ by vaccination status (4.3% for unvaccinated vs 5.2% for vaccinated, P=.181; data not shown).

So yeah, 3 months, not supported by the data at all. Maybe Immaculate's anecdote was caused by other things that we know can readily affect cycle length, like birth control ("Menstrual periods typically resume within three months after you stop taking the pill."), or intense exercise ("Athletic women are at risk for developing ovulatory dysfunction, which presents variably as menstrual irregularity or absence.").

Other interesting bit from the study:

Quote

The increase in cycle length for both the first and second vaccine cycles appears to be driven largely by the 358 individuals who received both vaccine doses within a single cycle (cycle four). This subgroup experienced a 2-day unadjusted mean cycle length increase (Table 3, 2.38 days, 98.75% CI 1.52–3.24), and 10.6% had an increase in cycle length of 8 days or more compared with 4.3% in the unvaccinated cohort (P<.001).

Did the FDA ask for over 70 years to release Pfizer data after a FOIA request?

Yes and no. The FDA has some 500,000 pages of information related to the vaccine. It said due to manpower shortages it could not release all the requested documents quickly. Instead, it proposed producing 1,000 or so pages initially followed up by 500 pages a month after that. The amount of pages per month isn't unusual for FOIA requests. What is unusual is that amount of time it would take to review and produce the several hundred thousand pages of documents at the FDA's suggested pace. But that is driven by the large amount of information rather than a reluctance by the FDA to product vaccine related information. At any rate, the judge isn't going to let the FDA take that long, and I really doubt any judge would. Corporate defendants pretty regularly produce hundreds of thousands of pages in litigation, so the FDA should be able to staff up to fulfill requests legitimate requests like this as well.

Remember when we were kids and you'd do/say just about anything to get out of taking a bath?  I bathed last week, my skin hurts after a bath, the soap burns, the shampoo hurts my eyes, I have to watch my show, I'm sleepy, I wanna play, MUH FREEDOM!

This is what these fucking people are like...children.  They will literally come up with any fucking excuse to avoid what is best for them and best for society.  Bleach, UV light, horse paste, viagra, HCQ, and now---drinking piss.  Just little kids whining and hiding to postpone the inevitable.

Voluntarily consuming your own urine because to give in now would show weakness?  That's where we're at?  Meanwhile, thousands of people have been hospitalized over the last two years trying these idiotic treatments and vaccine-alternatives.  I get it...at some point you can't go back and look like a hypocrite...you gotta keep digging and hope you get out the other side.

I guess all that's left to surprise me is the "Muh Freedoms" crowd is to pop a viagra, smear themselves in Ivermectin, and head down to the stables to get some horse piss.  If only there was a bath for the inside of their brains.

Make PFE pay for it.  Cost of doing business.

Typically in litigation if a document production is very burdensome, you'll actually see the cost at least partially split between the parties (in this case the FDA and the group doing the requesting). I'm not sure that burden shifting makes sense for a FOIA request (I've done them plenty, but this issue hasn't come up). I don't think the Court could order PFE to pay for this as PFE isn't a party to the suit as far as I know, but I'm sure the FDA has some ability to shift the cost to the sponsoring medical company.

And honestly, I'm not clear what exactly the FDA is having to review in order to release the information. I would assume that broad swaths of documents have no possible confidential information. It seems like those documents could be released without any further work. This is something that is done in civil litigation all the time. I get that there may be documents that potentially have patient personal information or that are entangled with other sensitive data and need to be reviewed.  But it does seem like the FDA's position that it has to review every single document, line by line, is way over the top (unless there is some law that requires it to conduct that sort of review).

So is this GRUhorns new anti vax handle?

”They can definitely mess up your cycles.”

Please explain how this is “definite” based just on your bullshit story.

This may have already been mentioned, and apologies if so, but I found all of the nonsense of the last couple of years to make a lot more sense once it dawned on me that if someone just doesn't want to get vaccinated for "reasons", their argument simply creates a presupposition that they're a big gaping pussy.  And being a big gaping pussy isn't a choice, they were either born that way or were converted in an aggy bathroom stall.  Once that realization came, I've been calmer than a Hindu cow chewing marijuana cud.  Haven't really thought about those folks since.

I don’t know about a 3 month delay, but my wife says it fucks with hers and it is a known side effect for some women. She’s not looking forward to her booster this week

Here, there is an impact but it is temporary.  3 months means your pregnant

They note that this group experienced an average 2.38 days increase in cycle length compared with unvaccinated individuals.

By cycle six, the last of the recorded cycles, the researchers noted no significant differences in cycle length between the vaccinated and unvaccinated groups.

Probably hasn’t been tracked, but has anyone seen a percentage of people who have been vaxed but haven’t received the booster?

I'm curious about this as well. If they are going to define fully vaccinated as having had a booster (or two or three) then the unvaccinated numbers are going to explode.

My guess is we go the way of Italy, which is now requiring everyone to show proof of vaccination (I'm unsure if that includes booster(s)) in order to be in public.  The other option is to show proof of 'recent infection'.  Not too sure how that works, but apparently that is what they are doing.

A new study published by researchers at Oregon State University found hemp compounds have the ability to prevent the virus that causes COVID-19 from entering human cells.

Findings of the study led by Richard van Breemen, a researcher with Oregon State’s Global Hemp Innovation Center, College of Pharmacy and Linus Pauling Institute, were published this week in the Journal of Natural Products.

Hemp, known scientifically as cannabis sativa, is a source of fiber, food and animal feed, and multiple hemp extracts and compounds are added to cosmetics, body lotions, dietary supplements and food, van Breemen said……

Texas won’t legalize marijuana because it would strip away the “brown people are illegally crossing the border with pot!” narrative.   I mean, it’ll happen one day.  But I’m guessing not until about 2040

Originally heard about this as it relates to Tobacco/cigarettes.  Of course the two plants are related, so it makes sense if one provides some measure of protection, the other would as well.  I remember seeing studies that nicotine has a prophylactic benefit to help the spread and infection of the virus

Friend of mine who is a big Texas weed proponent/lawyer/lobbiest/etc. told me that once Texas was surrounded (neighboring states and Mexico) with legality or one sort or another or decriminalization, it'd be a matter of a few years give or take.  I like her optimistic view.

Your friend knows more than me.  But to your point, there are obviously varying degrees.  From medical to decrminalization to full on legalization.  Shit, there is still jurisdictional madness in many states where some counties you can smoke it in the Constable's office and they light it for you...in other places...if you have a joint plus some leftover residual weed from another smoke...it's curb to cell for 6 months.

Blows my mind that Texas is willingly missing out on so much tax revenue. No good reason but for drug war idiocy.

Yeah Mexico and New Mexico are/will be legal for rec, Oklahoma has pretty lax medical rules, Arkansas & Louisiana have a bit tougher medical rules. Hell even Mississippi has decriminalized weed.

The NCAA already defines fully vaccinated as having a booster.  You can be a 19 year old athlete in pristine physical condition, double vaxxed along with a prior infection and will be treated as unvaccinated if your vaccination was more than 5 months ago.

Yes, but the scope/range of usage is incredibly limited...especially in comparison to even other Southern states.  And on the other side of the coin, the criminal charges still levied against folks in possession/under influence of is draconian compared to much of the rest of the country.  We've made a bit of progress yes, the cat's head is peaking out of the top of the bag.  But there will be an effort to smother the cat in ether after the next election cycle here in Texas.
