This is the only correct response, though I would also encourage you to consider under bridges as a prime location.

However, I'd advise you to make sure that there is no, uh, DNA evidence that could potentially identify you as the local Porn Fairy.

I think he'd have enough plausible deniability to just say he discretely tossed 'em in the recycling bin and then some local street ruffians confiscated the contraband whilst looking for liquor bottles.  And hard telling where they scattered them after they were done with the sinful publications that you were merely attempting to remove from your domicile in an environmentally responsible fashion.

I'd sure as shit rather have that conversation with the police or the local Karens than this one:

Wife, "Honey, what are you doing?"

Husband (nervously shuffling shit around the den), "Me?  What?  Nothing.  Just looking through some old periodicals.  What do you need?  Why are you asking?"

Wife, "Uh, 'cause it looks...and smells, like you're wiping down old nudie mags with my backup pack of Covid Clorox wipes."

Husband, "I can explain."

Wife, "I'm not sure I wanna hear the reason you're doing this.  Just wipe down the rubbermaid when you're done, I got some Christmas stuff to store in there...sickie."

Not that I'm saying it belongs on the Lulz thread...

but whatever happened with the investigation into that Miami-area mid-rise residential building that collapsed last year?

I imagine an official report will take time. It was June of last year so just about seven months ago. But I think the general consensus is time mixed with water intrusion caused the failure and then it fell like a house of cards.

Wiki:

"The main contributing factor under investigation is long-term degradation of reinforced concrete structural support in the ground-level parking garage under the housing units, due to water penetration and corrosion of the reinforcing steel. The problems had been reported in 2018 and noted as "much worse" in April 2021. A $15 million program of remedial works had been approved before the collapse, although no main structural work had been undertaken. Other possible factors include land subsidence, insufficient reinforcing steel, and corruption during construction."

I buy my boys hot chocolate currently for about a 6 week span. This is the time of year they like it.

I’m sure Amazon has it from some unknown vendor, but if stores had a peanut butter hot chocolate I’d be all in. I wonder why they don’t shelve this.

use cocoa pb2.  not sure if it would be chocolatey enough on its own or if you should use it as a mix in to regular hot chocolate.

If it was from McDonald’s then it could’ve been there for a decade and no mold would’ve grown on it.

It is possible it was a McDonald's fry, but it was more likely a Whataburger fry.  Still have no idea how long it was there as I don't hit up my local Whataburger as often as I used to.

I really like how Japanese websites have a distinctive font/typeface (2 of them) and aesthetics.

Like, remove all the kanji, remove all of the graphics, and any of the identifying text, and you could still recognize a website as japanese at a glance.

Same thing for taiwanese websites, to a much lesser extent

Just read this post by a lady friend who is leaving Las Vegas this morning - after an extended stay due to canceled flights...

Quote

Well we have boarded our plane so hopefully we will make it home today!
I have to tell you what happened on the flight so far. I was sitting in my seat as they were still boarding, eating a chocolate chip cookie. A flight attendant walked up to me and told me I had to put my mask on. It was obvious I had a cookie in my hand and I was eating it.
I asked her if it was OK if I finished eating my cookie first. She told me I had to have my mask on in between bites!
I said are you kidding me? She said no I am not those are FAA regulations.
The guy in the row behind me said that is fucking bullshit!
About five minutes later another flight attendant came over to me and apologized. She told me some people are over zealous and take it to the extreme!

Fixing stuff by yourself is satisfying. My water well went out yesterday, so I replaced the points last night. Nothing. Got a new control box for it this morning and had to re-wire it. We have water now. The well company wanted $200 for a Sunday repair plus parts and then labor. I got the box at Lowes for $89. I won this round.

The family was grocery shopping over the weekend and I saw some giant carrots, probably 14" - 16" long with good girth. Waving it at my wife from across the produce department, I said...

Me: "Look sweetie, it's an African carrot."

Her: "What's an African carrot?"

She looks up, sees the carrot. "Oh. Can't believe you said that in front of the kids."

I pushed so hard to get a deuce out today that I almost experienced g-lock for the second time in my life and dropped my phone, got tunnel vision and had to remind myself I was sitting on the shitter when my wife called out "are you ok?" When she heard my phone hit the tile floor.

Careful. That’s what gave Elvis the stroke that killed him.

Saw a meathead wearing a T shirt that said Fuck Masks, Fuck Democrats, I declare war. At first I was thinking here’s a guy wearing a T shirt like that with his daughter. Then I thought it was funny he’s in a Sprouts grocery store which is kinda like a Whole Foods selling organic, vegan, tofu and cauliflower rice type stuff. Not exactly the type of store I think a guy like would be frequenting.

Found a picture of my old flame “E” - dated her off & on from high school through college.

We started getting pretty serious in the fall semester of 1966. This photo was taken at a University Christmas dance in early December, just weeks before I met the future Mrs. Brat on the 30th of that month (to participate as Best Man & Maid of Honor at mutual friends’ wedding).
I had planned on giving “E” an engagement ring for the next Valentine’s Day, but dropped the idea after meeting TFMB and going out with her in January of ‘67.
Goodbye “E”, hello Mrs. Brat. Never have regretted that decision in 55 years.
(E. married a psychiatrist a year later, and I suspect she hasn’t either)

Damn. I was born in January of 67. Maybe I shouldn't feel so old.
