Spoiler

A 6-year-old boy on his way to school was fatally shot Friday morning when a gunman opened fire on his mother’s car on the 55 Freeway in Orange in what authorities are calling a road rage incident.

The suspect’s vehicle fled immediately after the shooting near West Chapman Avenue as police officers and paramedics responded to the gunfire shortly after 8 a.m., authorities said.

The boy’s mother was traveling on the northbound lanes with her child in a booster seat when the shooting occurred, California Highway Patrol officials said. Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot from a white sedan right before the child’s mother pulled over to the shoulder.

“This was an isolated road rage incident,” CHP Officer Florentino Olivera said. He said the driver of the white sedan shot into the back of the mother’s Chevy Cruze sedan.

The child was hit from behind when a round passed through the trunk of the vehicle, authorities said.

Reyes Valdivia and his wife, Joanna, had just dropped their children off at school when they spotted the woman on the freeway shoulder pulling a child out from the passenger side of the car, he said.

“The mom was hysterical,” Valdivia said. “We couldn’t tell at first what happened to the child.”

The woman told him, “I got shot at in the car,” he said.

“That’s when we noticed the blood on the boy,” Valdivia said.

He looked at the car and realized a bullet had entered the left side of trunk and hit the boy seated in the back in his booster seat.

“It went through the boy’s back,” he said.

A short time later, an off-duty police officer arrived and performed CPR on the boy, Valdivia said.

“We were all hoping he would survive,” he said.

The mother of the child said they were on the way to school in the carpool lane. When she tried to switch lanes to exit, the white sedan with a man and woman inside cut her off, Valdivia said. She gestured to them and proceeded into the exit lane, and that’s when the shooting occurred, he said.

“She heard her child scream and immediately stopped,” he said, recounting what the woman told him.

It was unclear who was driving or who fired the shot, he said.

Valdivia, who said he served in the U.S. military, said seeing a child shot was especially hard to take.

“There was no reason, no justification to shoot a child,” he said. “That shouldn’t happen.”

The child was rushed to nearby Children’s Hospital, where authorities confirmed that the boy had died. His name was not released.

The suspect’s vehicle was last seen heading north on the 55 Freeway, which was shut down for hours. The northbound lanes were reopened about noon.

you never know who is in the car that you flip off or palms up.

A few years ago, we went on a short trip with some friends to East Texas, by way of Houston. Said friends grew up in East Texas, then moved to Austin.  The husband was driving, got kind of cut off (he really didn't understand how people in Houston handle merging onto freeways) and he flipped the guy off and yelled "fuck you".

My wife and I were both like "WHAT THE FUCK, ARE YOU TRYING TO GET US KILLED?"

And just up the road, 2 teen girls were killed this week in a drive-by at a party bus:

https://www.kcra.com/article/family-mourns-death-modesto-teen-killed-oakland-party-bus-shooting/36469233

...The passengers were celebrating a woman's 21st birthday when the bus was attacked around 12:20 a.m. on Interstate 580 as it was returning to Oakland from San Francisco, the East Bay Times reported.

At least two shooters in another vehicle began firing at the bus, then followed it off the freeway and continued shooting at it on city streets, authorities said. About 70 rounds were fired at the party bus...

...At least five other women were wounded in the shooting, and some of the victims were taken by ambulance to a hospital from an Oakland police station, where the bus driver went after the shooting. One of the victims is in critical condition....

I like how the article says the other car cut her off. She was in front and proceeded to merge into the lane next to her when she didn't have room, flipping them off in the process...yeah, she was the one who cut the other car off. That doesn't mean she deserved to be shot at, but let's not try and sugarcoat her driving skills.

I wonder if the cop just kind of quietly laid her ticket for reckless driving next to her as she cradled her dead son. So as not to be rude, ya see.

"There was road rage on the freeway and someone pulled out a gun and shot my little brother in the stomach, and he said, 'Mommy, my tummy hurts,'" said Alexis Cloonan, the boy's sister.

"So she went and she picked him up and he was bleeding on her, she had blood on her clothes," Cloonan said. "And then he started turning blue, and that's when the ambulance took him. And that's the last time my mom saw him alive."

Cloonan issued a plea for anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.

"Please help us find the people who did this to my little brother," said an emotional Cloonan. "He's only 6 and he was so sweet. He was a very, very loving boy. So, please help us find who did this to him."
🥺🥺🥺

The shooter, who remained at large, was said to be driving a newer model white sedan, possibly a Volkswagen wagon sedan, according to CHP. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on the 55 from Chapman Avenue. A description of the suspect was not immediately available.

Alexis Cloonan said the boy's mother saw a woman driving the vehicle and a man in the passenger seat, but was not sure who fired the shot.

"She (Aiden's mother) was merging to the right side to get away from this person, and as you can see if you go online and look at the photos, there's one bullet shot in the trunk that went through the trunk and right through my nephew," John Cloonan said.

TLDR: final moment of the kids life and better description of road rage incident and suspect vehicle. Suspect(s)

Anyway, karma is a bitch and I hope whoever fired the shot that killed a 6 year old precious boy gets a double scoop of it. What goes around comes around. Don’t care what race they are. DGAF about their life story. They can save that shit for mitigation when they are found guilty of murder.

I’m done feeling sorry for people who are victims of the system no one is willing to change.

I’m done feeling sorry for violent criminals who murder and /or rape people.  So it’s pretty much the same thing. I don’t care who they are nor do I care why they are the way they are. If the worst of the worst of them were to expire every minute for the next 24 hours it wouldn’t bother me at all. Fuck em.

Those who are consistently making excuses for people who commit those violent crimes like murder or rape should be stuck on a desert island with a couple of them. So they can see up close and personal the fabulous people they so vigorously defend.

I was hoping for a better car description for the public but then I realized there are cameras everywhere now. Hoping that is why there isn’t a better description available for the public. I hope they are able to find the driver/suspect. There were two people in that vehicle and it would be great if that person came forward but I am not holding my breath.

That fucker shot into the trunk of the car. No fucks given about where the bullet went or who it hit. The car was in front of the POS and trying to get away from them. So just like the perp didn’t give a fuck where the bullet went I don’t care how the rest of their sorry life pans out from here (so long as there are no more innocent victims.)

She was taking her now dead 6 year old son to his kindergarten. Ughhh. Hope they can find the POS shooter soon and have enough evidence to get a guilty verdict.

They can find dudes living in caves and spider holes in Iraq and Afganistan watching goat porn, but this guy somehow is just too tough a nut to crack?

You know, in his car with license plates, hauling ass weaving in and out of traffic with fucking Big Brother watching all over the fucking place?

I honestly thought because there are fucking cameras everywhere they’d have enough surveillance of the car before it entered the freeway to get a license plate or something. Damn. I know getting all the video is critical because some footage will be poor or blurry and they have to watch all of that and go door to door (good ole fashion police work/ shoe leather—they say that all the time on The First 48) to get said footage and trace the car’s route etc...but shit. I thought they’d have a good idea by now.

This is why you need a dashcam.
