The Texans didn’t like VY’s agent. VY hired an attorney family friend of his uncle to be his agent (who didn’t have any other NFL clients) and the guy ended up stealing a lot of his money.

The low point of VY's pro career (and that's quite a low bar) was when the creditors he owed money to would wait for him outside the Bill's practice field to intercept him on his way to practice. After a couple days of that, the Bills determined that they didn't need that crap and said goodbye.

VY somehow lost $27 million of guaranteed money. And some of you still just blame Jeff Fisher for his failures.

My favorites are the knuckleheads with the strawman on-field comparison to Johnny 8-Ball when I observed that VY had also fucked up his cushy "community relations" job at UT due to poor/non-performance.

Like they both can't be off-field fuck-ups.

Life contains nuance.

I think VY would have been a Category Five disaster in Houston. Every one of his screw-up friends from his old neighborhood would have been all over him, bringing him down to their bottom-tier level with their unending crap, which is apparently happening to him today.

Jeff Fisher and VY both did plenty to ruin his NFL career.

And I hate to interrupt this fascinating discussion over which of the Arch and Quinn hypothetical scenarios is the correct one, but does anyone know the best way to remove old paint from fence posts?

How on earth do you screw up such a cushy job? Where do I sign up?

Ask Earl

He's managed to hold on to his cushy UT job for decades. It shouldn't be difficult.

Like knobby cedar or dimensional lumber? If dimensional lumber, pressure wash, wire brush, 60-grit sandpaper on an orbital sander. If knobby cedar or similar, wire brush.

Man, what a shame about VY, but the writing was on the wall when he threw his shoulder pads into the stands. If not earlier.

Thanks. Trying the wire brush tomorrow!

I’ll always be grateful to VY for what he did for us, but man has he been a disappointment since then.

lol, from the Dolphins subreddit.

Quinn's played well, a lot of drops and one really ugly throw that should have been picked.

After the Titans stint, he still got signed to 4 different teams while under the age of 30.

No conspiracy about Jeff Fisher tainting VYs reputation can excuse his inability to hold a roster position if dudes like DeShaun Watson and Joe Mixon are starters in the NFL.

If you can ball, someone will pay you to.

And didn’t he fub up a basically courtesy job at UT on 3 separate occasions?

People gotta reconcile with the fact that you can adore him for being a Texas GOAT and the reality that he is a fucking headcase.

After you charter Southwest planes for semi-private flights to drop five-figure meals at Cheesecake Factory, $200k/yr jobs from the uni just dont hit the same.

he was statistically better, but man, he does not look like an nfl qb. still somehow has really bad footwork, even on his tds:

he looks just as limited as he always has. he had a 3rd and goal at the end where his one and only read was wide open the entire play and he just held onto the ball and rolled almost all the way to the boundary before throwing at someone who was tightly covered. i only caught some of his last two drives, but it was pretty uninspiring. i struggle to see him making the 53 man roster, even with their terrible qb situation.

The footwork and lack of body involvement on that throw is wild. Great throw no doubt but truly high school mechanics there.

Wilson's $6MM contract is fully guaranteed.  Not following closely but I think kind of expected Quinn would land on practice squad this year absent an injury.

I see Quinn had a good preseason game today…

Is this when I post old screenshots and start up an argument that annoys almost everyone else? Declaring myself the winner of an imaginary fight I’ve made up in my head based on one preseason game?

Or would that be an idiotic asshole thing to do?

I know my answer!

Don’t know.

Never thought about it, but from his continued crappy footwork, my guess is that they are NOT built for comfort.

But then again, from his substandard scrambling, they’re likely not built for speed either.

Damn y’all give Quinn a chance.  He still has one more game to potentially “shine” and not be on the practice squad or cut.

Hook’em!!!

You have to clear waivers in order to be put on the practice squad and Ewers will most likely be claimed by another team.

If Miami wants to keep him then they either roll with 3 QBs or cut Wilson. Otherwise Ewers is playing somewhere else.

Quinn will be receiving checks from Miami this season whether as the 3rd QB or on the practice squad.

He has had one really bad game this preseason and one pretty good game this preseason while continuing to exhibit poor footwork. Every single team in the league had multiple chances to draft him and they all passed and yet you think that another team will put him on their 53 man roster this fall if Miami were to cut him?

We’re all pulling for him, but most of us are being objective as well. Don’t be bothered by the objectivity.
