Took the daughter to Goofy's kitchen as part of our Disneyland trip for her 6th birthday.

Disneyland Character Dining: Goofy's Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel

Busy, loud, buffet that charged like $80 a plate for mediocre food. But Goofy and the gang come by tables and interact with you.

I'd say at least 50% of the people there were adult couples with no children. Excitedly taking couples pictures with Goofy and Dale and the others. Wearing Disney-branded gear from head to toe. Having the time of their lives eating Chef Goofy's Macaroni and Cheese and attacking the 30 ft long dessert bar with alacrity. Putting on pounds of fat in real time.

Funny, for being the happiest place on earth, I sure was filled with a bloodcurdling rage.

I took my kids there a couple of summers ago. It wasn't that bad. The food wasn't great but the my kids could be as loud as they wanted and they served beer.

In fact, I thought Disneyland was pleasant. The weather in California is good and the lines weren't as bad as I was expecting. I'm also friends with a couple who are Disney adults, and they both have kids / careers / don't engage in couple swaps. We give them shit about being Disney adults because it's silly, but whatever. I devote 50% of my mental space to a game played by teenagers so I can't really say that much to them.

Think it tends to get this way in August. We’re like addicts who have been pushed past their breaking points.

We took our kids last spring break. March was the time to go. I wasnt looking forward to it one bit as I tend to hate, people and lines. However, it was awesome. Expensive as fuck but fun.  We stayed on site and hopped the gondola everyday. Got there when it opened and did the fast pass.

We met an retired couple from VA (I think) that are Disney Adults. They fly down once a month for a weekend. They've been over 100x.

Our Uber driver told us he has a family from NYC that flies down monthly. They call ahead to make arrangements with him and take the earliest flight out of NYC on a Saturday AM. He picks them up and takes them directly to the park. Picks them up in the evening and drives them back to the airport for a late night flight back home. Says he's been their driver for years.

To each their own.

I’ve flown in and out of Orlando for business or with family at least 15 times in my life and will be doing it again next week and had zero understanding that its airport sign was MCO. Dumb.

The airport used to be McCoy Air Force base. Way back. That’s why MCO stuck.

Star rankings are tough for me, but I really like Kruel's tape.  He didn't seem to fit what the staff had been recruiting at EDGE from a measurables perspective, so I didn't know if they were forcing a fit there.  With the news that they've spun Spence down from LB, it looks like Clark and Baker may not be as seemingly rigid around height/wingspan at that spot (which I like).   If the guy can rush the passer at a high level while also setting an adequate edge against gap schemes and rush inside on the ET twists and games, I don't really give a shit how long his arms are - I'd sacrifice a couple batted balls for QB disruption in the backfield.

He probably fits from a specialty perspective and they’re willing to pay the price for HIS level of talent at THAT specific task. There is also value in keeping him away from OU.

I love the way the defensive side of the ball has been architected - both from a scheme perspective and personnel perspective.

I also don’t know shit about fuck.

I have a friend in Orlando who has made a fortune off supporting Disney customers with two things: scooter rentals that will fit into the trunk for the fatties, and Disney princess dress-up for the little daughters. It’s insane how much money people will spend on their kids to pamper them.

I think I’d rather cut open my ballsack with a bread knife and then sit in a bucket of glass and bleach before going to Disney anything. I understand there are Disney cruises as well, which legitimately sounds like a torturous / Guantanamo Bay detainee level experience.

granted my idea of the perfect vacation is 4 days backpacking alone and looking at this:

Agreed and have been to numerous National Parks while living on the West Coast previously. All were epic!

…they just don’t engage in swapping with YOU.

Also Jesus. Once a month? I crushed all the major rides with my family and I can’t imagine caring to do it again short of another 3-4 years. Once a month. Wow.

This all hits close to home, as I took my 7 year old to Disney this summer for the first time. One of my striking memories wasn't something healthy and awesome with my family. It was us high tailing it out of the park at 9:45 or so at night, ahead of the fireworks. We're tired, and we don't give a shit about fireworks, but obviously, everyone else cares and everyone is all squeezing together on main street and every thoroughfare to get the best view, while we're walking the opposite direction on the sidewalks trying to beat any crowds. I saw not, one, not two, but THREE different people staring towards the castle tears streaming down their faces unabashedly, to watch a fucking FIREWORKS display. A fireworks display that happens every single night. Just weeping, like they saw Jesus rise from the grave, or the Apollo 13 astronauts crawl out of the splash capsule.

Disney Adults are fucking emotionally warped individuals. And don't let CTJ fool you, he's a member of Club 33. If you don't know what that is, google it.

I’m not saying any of this is false. I’m just saying that post-graduation, hyper-zealous college fans may not be the ideal stone throwers in this particular glass house.

Maybe it’s just me who still gets chills when the Longhorns run out to Texas Fight. Who doesn’t want anything to do with sports after a Texas loss. Who has a visceral dislike for the crimson fucks in the Cotton Bowl and euphoria after Texas wins. Basically who lets the successes and fuckups of 18-22 year old guys have a disproportionate effect on his mood from September to January. Or longer, if a scoop and score is involved.

But I think it’s probably not just me.

Nah. Disney Adults are weird fucking people, man. I've never met one and thought "wow, what an interesting person with well developed hobbies and social skills. We should hang out more."

There’s levels. I definitely care more about college football than the average watcher as evidenced by being on here, but you would never know it in my social life or when visiting my home. People that cosplay at games or have over the top man caves with memorabilia vomited  everywhere are approaching Disney adults yea.

I know one set of married Disney adults. I'd let my sons visit neverland ranch with MJ, unchaperoned, before I'd leave them in a room with the husband for one second.

I find the Disney Adults to be very disturbing.

What you and the Mrs. don't dress like cheap soviet knockoffs of Charming and Snow White?

My wife said they have a name for the weird dressing up.

I loved taking the kids to Disney and we're taking the daughter to all the Harry Potter stuff for her 13th bday

...But Disney adults scare me.

This hits close to home, literally. Winter is no joke, though.
