It was pretty easy to get an unofficial transcript for UT.  Looking back on all of that work I put it 20 years ago, I probably should have done something more practical with my brain.  Post your curriculum if you want.  At least it's the season for nostalgia and regrats.

But seriously, that class almost made me drop out of Engineering and go into potato farming. ALMOST.

I forget who my prof was, but he had two tests and a final, and he only counted your highest test. I came from a small school, and calc was a struggle, as was just generally getting adjusted to having classes with more people than my entire high school, but once I got settled in things clicked and I rocked calculus. Understood it well. When I took diffyQ I crushed the first test…and got a little cocky. Stopped doing the homework. Started dating a girl. Stopped going to class. Showed up for the final. 5 questions. I could kind of answer two. Waiting for my grades I was sure I was going to be retaking it. Somehow I got a C overall. My first C, but I was extremely happy about it. I had nightmares about that class and that final and failing for at least 15 years after graduating.

literally dont remember taking mountain geoecology (wut?)

medical geography was one of the worst and intensive classes ever. literally from starting minute 0 to end, instructor provided sheer volumes of uninterrupted, non-stop information. the entire course was just exercise in memory retention with zero thinking or learning values.

the worst class was environmental hydro. 8am start and boring as fuck.

suicide terrorism was…uh…..for an A all I literally did was turn  in 2 papers of 3-pg length.  thank you allah

Diff Eq was waaaaaaay easier than Cal II.

I started as a finance major and one semester of accounting bored me to tears so bad I switched to engineering.  The engineering advisor I went to said in 30 years I was maybe the 10th student he had seen switch from business to engineering.  Of course if he had a nickle for every kid that did the opposite he would have retired 15 years earlier.

We used to call Engineering "Pre-Business". Congrats for busting the myth.

Taking M427K and M427L at the same time was a trip.  Vector Calculus is pretty cool though.  It's basically how FPS video games model the world of light and physics.  Imagine a sheet of graph paper reflected off of a the curved gold visor of an astronaut.  That's coordinate system transfer.  Then make it all move correctly.

Actually I think there is a copy paste error.  I did take 408D spring 98, but I also pledged SigEp and did not pass.  408C was tough too, but not as bad.  I got a B with a 34% average.  1500 student curve I think.

My best GPA was the semester I pledged because we had mandatory house hours and all studied together.

That is not how it worked out for me.  I was the pledge that knew how to work and build stuff and cook.  Spring pledge class with only 6 dudes vs 200 kind of sucks.

My favorite and possibly most applicable elective was something along the lines of "The History of Beer and Wine."  It was offered by the Restaurant Hotel and Institutional Management Department, which had not a gotdam thing to do with my MIS studies in the Business College.  It was taught by a German GA who was hotter'n a $2 pistol and her accent mesmerized me, but the class was genuinely interesting, to the point that I briefly considered changing majors.

In the end, I'm glad I didn't switch; but that class gave me a great base understanding of basic winemaking, beer brewing, and the associated varieties that has served me well through the years. It also wasn't obsolete in 2 semesters like some of my technology focused courses.  Beer and wine are...forever.

I like the Western Music class. Did Willie or Merle sit in for 302L to steal your lyrics?

CSB: I’m a college music teacher. During the Covid shutdown, I had my music appreciation class write an essay having something to do with “Western Music” as part of their online final.

I had two students that submitted nearly identical essays about country music — certainly not covered in my blazing-fast survey from medieval chant to Stravinsky. Of course they unsuccessfully appealed the cheating charges claiming it was just pure luck that they wrote the same essay that had nothing to do with the course.

I had a US Hist prof - best class I ever had. He was an “extra” in the ‘60 John Wayne “Alamo” and was in multiple scenes as one of the Mexicans marching in. He said that there was only about 50-75 of them, with the back line of the formation had rakes tied to their waist to create dust. After the first take or two, they rubbed brown kiwi shoe polish on their faces and changed uniforms and did it again!

Outside of that knowledge, he was the best Professor I ever had, as he just talked the whole session. I can’t remember his name.

Hook’em!!!
