We should’ve let one rocket through to blow up some distant shed that nobody gives a shit about and allows Iran to save a little face. That can be the end of this.

They’ll claim it was a devastating attack regardless of that happens. Their people will never know they were all intercepted.

Genuine question for those of you that support this guy: what do you think of the constant need to embellish and overstate every single thing that he does?  Politics aside, it's exhausting to watch for me personally and I feel like it wouldn't be tolerated in any other real life setting, yet it's almost second nature at this point.  For decades we've mocked other countries that have leadership meetings that seem to be a groveling contest, yet now we get to see those from our side almost weekly.

Are you cool with it?  Don't care?  Love it and with they would go further?

Again, genuine question with no intent to troll.

Lib tears, it’s their only interest in all things politics.

Yep, right now they can claim they felt the last blow and we backed down, that will be their position.

Cope. We started a war. You wanna back out now?

Iran doesn’t want a war with the U.S., they communicated where they were attacking beforehand.

This chart goes back 50 years and outside of republicans most other voting demographics have dipped to around 50% for decades.

That is as close to a furiously waved white flag as could reasonably be expected.  If this was the cost of dropping those bunker busters (without them even closing the Strait of Hormuz) this is a huge win for the US.

Rex, your experience of Jews as more culturally similar to Christians is just a reflection of Jews as a diaspora people and Jews in the West were shaped by centuries of exchange with Christians. MENA Jews or Ethiopian Jews would strike you as much different, also because of centuries of exchange with Islam or other forms of Christianity.

I missed this post. I get your point but I’m talking about a liberal nation in Israel in the same vein as US and every other Euro nation.

I don't think anyone including my self loves the embellishment completely. I view it that everyone is going to have their flaws. Politicains hide theirs. Trump isnt a politician and at 70 whatever he is who he is. You don't think previous politicians has flaws or skeletons?

Legitimately great news.

If that's the extent of any counter-strike or terror activity, absolutely.

Where that ultimately leaves us is . . . . wondering what, if anything, was actually accomplished by all of this.  Did the US strikes really take out/significantly harm Iran's enrichment capabilities for a long term?  Did they take out already enriched uranium?  Seems like we won't really know for quite some time.

One thing we know... 1-2 years from now Bibi will claim Iran is weeks away from having a nuke.

Exactly.

They very much do not want a dead American soldier.

What they want is to be able to tell their people that we hit them with 12 bombs, so they launched 12 missiles in a proportionate response.  No one in Iran can verify the effectiveness of either strike, so it sounds good to them.

This can be the end of it if we keep our war boner in our pants.

Lots of wishful thinking going on.

Iranian regime hasn't been a real threat to the US in decades, they focus on their region and neighbors. This was by the book "retaliation" from Iran, just a relatively harmless show a force to keep their own people in line. We got duped into bombing them, which will create more unrest in the Middle East sooner than later, as the regime knows Israel was behind all of it.

And Bibi is not gonna stop until the regime is gone, and will continue to drag us into this.

The Iranians did this shit to the Israelis in April. They are legitimately retarded. Hey, let’s spend millions of dollars saving face for the dumbest of our populace.

I'm aware of all that information. The variance in the same language in different areas or countries are called regional dialects. I said the dialects were different, not the language. So basically you just reinforced my point on language all while ignoring all the various recent cultural and mindset divides between Taiwan and China. If you are indeed Taiwanese, I'm rather shocked you don't agree with your fellow countrymen's position. However, you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

1.) I have family members who are, but I'm not Taiwanese.

2.) I'm not ignoring anything, you're layering your own context onto what I've said. You said there's a vast cultural divide.  I said it's not as big as it used to be.  It's not.  China has spent a lot of money on soft power influence in Taiwan the past 2 decades emphasizing their shared cultural history in order to drive a wedge between them and the west.  Go online and read their forums, look at their tik tok videos or instas - the sense of ethnic pride in their history is prevalent.

Try spending a few years living on oil exports instead of helping every radical group blow shit up.  You might live long enough to enjoy it.

Maybe. I don’t know. I have mixed feelings. Good to show the world our quick capability in a strike that didn’t kill civilians. Good to take out any potential threat and neuter Iran. But this is much ado about nothing and if we have an increase in non-state supported terror attacks, was it worth it?  Doubtful.

This is what a lifetime of uncritically deepthroating propaganda gets you.

If Iran doesn't want a war, how do you propose they are going to kill us? The Force? It takes some wild mental gymnastics to claim they don't want a war and that we have to do a performative bombing because they want to kill us in the same breath.

Do you hear yourself?

If Iran wanted a nuke they would have had one by now. Use your brain instead of mainlining state department propaganda just one time.

BDA’s are still being done, but from what I’m seeing Israeli intelligence seems to think the vast majority of the enriched uranium is not destroyed but entombed at Fordow and Isfahan. That’s why they bombed the access points to Fordow this morning, to prevent Iranians getting in to remove it. This interview with Amit Segal is very encouraging. He’s saying they think the nuclear program is effectively ended and the air strikes are focused on eliminating as much of the ballistic missile capability as possible:

Situation is still fluid, but if this pans out, seems like a net benefit for us in this exchange.
