I'll be surprised if the 2 people in the house in Austin were random.

There were two different houses in Austin, each with two deceased, along with the pair in Bexar County.

It does seem hard to believe these victims were selected randomly.

Think this is the guy.

From San Antonio, Military service, worked at a shooting range.

If this is not him then my apologies Shane

Man if that’s him that’s an interesting way to describe some jobs he’s had. Not much of a work history at all really for 34. And he was an Uber driver. That seems to be his longest job.

BA in Philosophy and working in a car wash.

His career path was military, Walmart stocker, car wash, delivery driver, laborer, car wash.

I'd say there was probably something wrong with him.

Thread title should be Central Texas Spree Shooter, apparently.

Really curious about his story.  Reminds me somewhat of the dude who went off the rails in the Memorial Areas of Houston in 2016

A lot of these people sadly have the same trajectory. Some of it is CR related (guns) and some of it is “what is the solution” to the mental health question(s). Sad shit all the way around. I mean I know he was trying to put his minor career history in a positive light (resume embellishment workshop) but it reads as absolutely unhinged in retrospect. Otherwise I would have thought it was a person with a sense of humor. “Modular Specialist at Walmart.”

What caliber Spree is most effective in a spree shooting?

I dunno, but if you eat a handful with a soda...it kinda tasted like beer.

Gotta give this guy credit, other than being mentally unhinged/prone to violence/wildly unfettered access to firearms...his background/demography departs markedly from the usual type of mass-shooter.  And yes, this counts as a mass-shooting, iH-35 traffic delays notwithstanding.

Around San Antonio.

Just make the road a toll road with multiple booths. Have you seen people scramble off a tollway at the last free exit? Travel would shut down.

——————

Not saying possible motive but he had a warrant out for his arrest prior to his spree.
He was wanted on a warrant for assault with injury-family violence. Guess his folks were probably at the end of their rope trying to get him help and like so many parents and relatives wound up victims as well.

Just fucking sad.

God damn America is in a sorry state when a mass shooter thread casually devolves into restaurant selfies and food discussion by page 2

To be fair, it's hard to tell these days if a shooting is a regular shooting, or the super-deluxe family-size combo shooting with a free dessert.  In any case, just another Tuesday in the land of the free (BANG!) home of the brave (BANG! BANG!)

Work is hard to come by, but a college grad with Walmart, car wash, laborer, and then CDL but "did not complete the hiring process due to medical background" is pretty sad.

Two thoughts:

- those and shooting are effects of a common cause:  weirdo.

- shooting is effect of guy getting depressed from a going-nowhere life.

May well be the case.

We can spin the American Wheel of Winning, to see if it stops on 1) obviously mentally ill (with no real apparatus to intervene), 2) gun freak who can acquire whatever weapons of mass-killing he'd like, 3) young white guy pissed that the world isn't catering to him like he was told it should, or....my personal favorite...4) all three.

We'll see what the wheel stops on.  Who knows?  Maybe there's an all-new brand of fuckery we can learn about with this one!

What makes me think it was a personal vendetta for all the victims is that he could have killed the cyclist but didn't. Same with the cops.

Though the timeline and geography is weird...

One of the articles said that two of the people who were killed had literally just moved into their house a couple of days before.  Were they from SATX?  So much "fog of war" information out there right now.

In a random collision in Austin, the chance of that happening is like 1 in 3.

Incorrect.  It's 1 in 2.  Yes, 1 in 3 cars on the road is a Tesla, but the odds of a person driving a Tesla changing lanes with no warning because dammit they own the road are immensely higher than usual.

Me too. Chewy ones are legit as well. Does all of this tie in to the sugar baby that killed the guy?

Chewy are better than regular but the regular last longer. Of course, the only reason to buy either variant of Spree is because the store is out of Sweetarts for some reason.

Circle C/Meridian/etc the odds are even better. If he had hit a cyber truck this story would have broke nationally.

Elon's Launch After-Party seems to have taken an awkward turn in that case.  literally.

I can judge because I'm not on the Bench and I'm not in the Jury Box.  This guy was wound up to believe that he was beaten down in life and the only way he could prove his worth as a man was to take it out violently on other people.  Thankfully, for him, such violence was readily available to his obviously sick ass for 4 easy payments of $99.95 with no questions asked.  What happened to the old days when downtrodden men took it out on a fist-fight or a bottle of booze or a large-mouthed bass?

Welp. This hits close to home. Literally. Dude was finally taken down after murdering 2 people less than 3/4 mile from my house.

That means you're not far from me.  Time to move.

Yeah, maybe it is time to move. Since the opening of SH 45 increased south Mopac traffic so dramatically, I've been thinking that anyway, but got damn. This is fucking crazy.

Watch what happens when SH 45 extends to IH 35.

So this is a better timeline of events. Wondering (if he drove to Austin to eliminate specific targets) if the one of his intended victims worked at the school where the first officer was shot. Because the map makes no sense. Or if he intended to do something more at that specific location. But because he shot the officer who was able to radio for help he moved on to the couple at Shadywood?
