It is a bizarre statement but I'm strongly surprised she laid blame at the feet of the correct party.  She seems like the type that peel off the 20-30% Democrat vote in a place like WV or similar states/counties.  Saying what she needs to say so that she's not ostracized by her friends and family who are assumed predominately MAGA after having lost her husband.

She laid the blame at the feet of the correct party but seems ok with Trump not even reaching out.  As usual, a lot of WTF with the people that carry rich R's water...

I think you mean the people that Democrats stopped talking to or caring about politically after 2010.

In all fairness, I probably would have declined a call from Donald Trump while he was president.

Possibly she is terrified of what those around her would say/do if they found out she had spoken to Biden.  Or she's just "standing by her man"

Elon Musk commits to sending $45M/month to new Pro-Trump Super PAC

https://apple.news/AXhVGJiOUQjeduYv2MlKcgw

Elon Musk has said he plans to commit around $45 million a month to a new super political-action committee backing former President Donald Trump’s presidential run, according to people familiar with the matter.

Other backers of the group, called America PAC, include Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, former U.S. ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband, Joe Craft, who is chief executive of coal producer Alliance Resource Partners.

Formed in June, America PAC is focused on registering voters and persuading constituents to vote early and request mail-in ballots in swing states, according to one of the people. The coalition assessed that the Democrats have historically had very robust “get out the vote” campaigns and took note of the amounts of money that the Biden camp has dedicated to so-called on-the-ground efforts in swing states. America PAC will try to counter that.

Musk is currently the world’s richest person, with an estimated fortune exceeding $250 billion. The amount that he has said he plans to commit to America PAC is an extraordinary sum.
While it can be difficult to trace the full scope of some political giving, the largest known donation of the 2024 election so far is $50 million given recently by the great-grandson of banker Thomas Mellon to a super PAC supporting Trump.

America PAC has hired hundreds of employees for its efforts, and has been registering voters, having conversations with constituents in swing states and urging voters to request mail-in ballots, some of the people familiar with the matter said.

According to a filing made on Monday, America PAC had $8.75 million in contributions for the three-month period ending on June 30. Musk had indicated that he planned to start his donations in July, one of the people said.
In addition to Lonsdale, the Winklevosses and the Crafts, the filing listed a number of other donors to America PAC, including several with close connections to Musk.
Bloomberg News earlier said that Musk has donated to America PAC. The scale of his planned commitment hasn’t been reported.
Musk in March tweeted that he didn’t intend to donate to either Trump or President Biden’s campaigns. But the billionaire Tesla CEO has gotten closer to the former president in recent months.

On Saturday, Musk formally endorsed Trump for president after a shooter attempted to assassinate the former president at a Pennsylvania rally. “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk said on X. In a subsequent post he said, “Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.”

It's very clearly a haves vs have nots thing.  We all like to point out the constant racist bullshit they spew, but it's actually a big tent.  If you vote for us, we really don't give a fuck what you are.  Just tell us how you also hate librulllzzzzz.  Capitalism run amok.

Also, it's why you see so many latinos in FL etc voting for Trump.  They all know exactly what it's about.  Not a huge secret, but still mind boggling how many they fool into voting against their own interests.

I don't think it's so much a "stunning leak" as a "hey, dumbass, I thought we agreed not to bring that up in public."

Thats what I mean. And all because your husband was a “devout” republican. Imagine describing yourself as religious about a political party. Pretty good glimpse into the brain of the standard maga supporter.

Has there been - in the last 50 years - a President or Vice President with a beard or facial hair?

Hell there hasn't been beards on Dodger players until recently

I'da talked to him and asked for shit. Ambassadorship to the Zapatistas holed up inside a building at the UNAM. An authentic solid gold Trump statue paperweight. A nice new van with (peel-off) MAGA stickers. Secret lair inside Yellowstone.

Lemons, lemonade.

How about 1933?

Charles Curtis was the last mustachioed vice president in 1933 during his time under Herbert Hoover.

The last veep to sport a beard as hefty as Vance’s was Charles Fairbanks, who was Teddy Roosevelt’s second-in-command from 1905 through 1909.

It's funny that people think switching candidates won't immediately lead to Republican legislatures trying to boot the Republican candidate off of the ballots.  It's so obviously predictable and all y'all are falling for it.  Wasn't one state trying to remove Biden from the ballot because of the timing of the DMC?  If a new candidate is announced, they won't certify shit.

No Doubt Yes GIF by Yiannimize

Cool. Let's fight that battle later with a candidate that has >0.5% chance of winning.

Reminds me of the time I sprained my wrist during a football game. It swelled up and hurt like a mother fucker. I was holding it in a way after the game that triggered our linebacker coach.

He made the pussy hand sign and asked me if I knew what it meant, then said it's a pussy. "Quit acting like a pussy looking for sympathy. Be a man."

Trump missed a grifting opportunity there. Put a MAGA logo on that ear bandage and sell them for $20.  25mm Americans would buy them by the end of week.  Most would buy one for each ear since they don’t listen well anyway.

I'm not a doctor, and I certainly ain't a conspiracist. That said, blowing up the image to 500% and then using the standard MS Snipping Tool, it's hard to tell if there's even a blemish on that ear. Maybe they applied a shit-ton of bronzer to it. But if a bullet passed through or grazed that ear, would you be able to tell it from this photograph?

Of course, I don't doubt that he was shot at. Nor do I doubt that it was maybe nicked, and the bullet got really, really close to his actual cranium. His life was in serious danger, and he could've been murdered if not for his deal-with-the-devil luck, but does anyone see anything in that photo that would indicate that a bullet "pierced the upper part of [his] right ear?" At most, it looks a little bruised, but this blurry photo and my shitty eyes don't see a "piercing."

One other point. I didn't watch the RNC television show, nor do I know the context in which this photograph was taken. Was Vance standing on something? Because I always got the impression he was a pretty short guy, and Google lists him as 5'7".

When I was maybe 19 I had some minor surgery around my jaw and sideburn. Naturally, they shaved off that one sideburn, and there were some stitches, but I coulda walked around with it uncovered. But my 19-year-old vanity was stricken, so, on my own, I constructed a gauze covering for it all and taped it over my long-gone sideburn.

It looked stupid. It was stupid. Almost like his ear-patch

Well I hope. I think any civil war would be short lived (intra-term) and Trump’s old age gives me comfort it won’t last long. There’s nobody as charismatic AND crazy as he is in his family or his camp. JD Vance isn’t that guy. He’s an opportunist who is gonna blow his political wad on this dalliance with Trump anyway.

If Crooks had been successful Saturday, I think it would’ve hastened civil war. But it also would’ve brought us together more quickly. SS incompetence almost hastened this whole thing. Unless the rhetoric calms the fuck down, which with Project ‘25 it won’t, we’re heading there.

My concern is that Trump is simply the key master that will help the truly evil goons take control of American Democracy. He gets in and SCOTUS will be fucked for the remainder of my life. These guys are not gonna let go once they nab power. It ain’t their style. After the events of the past week, I anticipate Trump living quite a bit longer than we’d all expect (or hope).

Here's a link to his Atlantic piece I mentioned. If it doesn't work, let me know, and I'll copy/paste the full text.

Can you please copy/paste? I only got the first two or three paragraphs and it was getting good...

Did he actually introduce him on camera and this was a still from that? If not, no telling when that pic was taken. It could also be them Photoshopped together, which explains how 5-7 Vance seems as tall as 6-3 (lol) Trump in his lifts.

Yeah, I dunno. Maybe he was standing on a milk crate for that shot. Again, I didn't watch the show and only judging by that single photo.
