It’s illegal and it’s outrageous. They have no right to abolish an agency, a statutory agency in the federal government. Congress appropriated money for us to spend, and we’re spending it now, right? So what do you think happens now? I hope someone will sue them, because if this goes to court, they’re going to lose. And that’s why Marco Rubio said that he’s the new head of USAID. That’s not what Musk said. Musk said we’re abolishing USAID. He didn’t say we’re merging it into State. That is criminal. They can’t abolish the aid program without a vote of Congress.

They also took down all of the plaques [honoring murdered USAID officials]. We had a wall. I had it installed myself. For every USAID officer who’s been murdered in the last 70 years, we have a plaque commemorating them. They took the whole thing down. That is a desecration of sacred space. For people who sacrifice themselves for the United States to be treated that way is outrageous.

Keep in mind that Musk’s group of 19-25 year olds have the keys to 1/5 of the US economy, and this was from a few days ago

https://www.forbes.com/sites/digital-assets/2025/02/02/this-needs-to-stop-now-elon-musk-confirms-radical-doge-us-treasury-plan/

Now, as fears emerge Trump’s administration is “dangerously” undermining the U.S. dollar, Musk has confirmed he wants to put the U.S. Treasury on a blockchain, the technology that underpins bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies—including Musk’s pet project dogecoin.

Replying to X influencer Mario Nawfal who asked: "Should the Treasury be put on the blockchain so this doesn’t happen," Musk replied: “Yes!”

Earlier, the New York Times reported Trump’s Treasury secretary Scott Bessent handed Doge department officials access to the payment system which sends out money to the tune of $5 trillion per year on behalf of the entire federal government on Friday, citing anonymous sources.

Last week, Musk held discussions about using the blockchain technology to save money, it was reported by Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources.

Unnamed people close to Musk told the financial newswire that there's been talk of using a blockchain to track federal spending, secure data, make payments and manage buildings.

It is unclear if Musk plans on using an existing blockchain, such as bitcoin's, ethereum's, dogecoin's or one of thousands of smaller blockchains which have their own cryptocurrencies, or if he would rather create a new, purpose built blockchain.

It's so maddening because there's no good reason to do this. The US government is not a trustless system, and this would do nothing but add overhead and a new literal cryptoregulatory state. Code is law, after all.

I have some terrible personal news to share.

I was just laid off from my position at the National Institute of Health as part of the dismantling of USAID. My job was lead scientist on the "Shrimp on Treadmills" study, where we were exploring the intersection of racism and inclusivity by observing how quickly different species of shrimp would tire on treadmills. We were trying to see if there was any correlation between the pigmentation of the shrimp and their endurance levels, aiming to shed light on inclusivity in the aquatic fitness world.

We'd already spent $84 million, and we were on the cusp of determining if there was such a thing as 'shrimp privilege.' I'm devastated.

Tell Lindsey Graham I won't have his money.

‘This Needs To Stop Now’—Elon Musk Confirms Radical Doge U.S. Treasury Plan

Musk, the Tesla billionaire-turned-government-cost-cutter, is leading the so-called Doge department of government efficiency, proposed by Trump’s Commerce department nominee Howard Lutnick to “rip the waste out of our $6.5 trillion budget.”

"Career Treasury officials are breaking the law every hour of every day by approving payments that are fraudulent or do not match the funding laws passed by Congress," Musk posted to X, referencing part of the United States code which outlines how some government payments are approved. “This needs to stop now!”

It is unclear if Musk plans on using an existing blockchain, such as bitcoin's, ethereum's, dogecoin's or one of thousands of smaller blockchains which have their own cryptocurrencies, or if he would rather create a new, purpose built blockchain.

Following Musk's take over of Twitter, which he then renamed X, Musk also debated adding blockchain technology to the platform before ditching the idea, text messages between Musk and his brother Kimbal revealed in 2022.

The Doge department is a nod to the shiba inu doge meme that's also linked to the dogecoin cryptocurrency, named by Musk as his "favorite" cryptocurrency and accepted as payment by his Tesla car company.

The dogecoin price has rocketed higher following Trump’s election victory, surging along with the bitcoin price, as traders bet Musk's proximity to the U.S. president will further boost the meme-based cryptocurrency.

In his first week back in the White House Trump followed through on his campaign promises to make overhauling crypto policy one of his administration's priorities, ordering the creation of a cryptocurrency working group tasked with proposing new regulations and exploring the creation of a national cryptocurrency stockpile.

Trump’s crypto and artificial intelligence czar, venture capitalist David Sacks, will chair the group, with Sacks—an early investor in the ethereum rival cryptocurrency solana—praised by Trump who later toldFox Business Trump's actions showed he is following through on his promise to make the U.S. the "crypto capital" of the world, something Trump also told World Economic Forum attendees in Davos.

FML..... Cannot make a car drive safely on its own, but has the software for airplanes.

Elon Musk has pledged to deploy his "DOGE" cost-cutting squad inside the innards of America's air traffic control system, promising Wednesday to "make rapid safety upgrades" to the complex web of software, hardware, facilities and people that keep planes from crashing into each other.

"With the support of President @realDonaldTrump, the @DOGE team will aim to make rapid safety upgrades to the air traffic control system," Musk posted to his social media platform X. Musk's comment came shortly after Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy posted that he'd spoken to DOGE and that the squad plans to "plug in" to the air traffic control system to help make unspecified upgrades to unknown systems.

Vivek Ganapathy Ramaswamy who bowed out of working with DOGE to ostensibly run for Governor of Ohio, has an interesting name and an interesting skin tone for somebody who wants to run for Governor of Ohio from a certain party.

What if I told you that Vivek, for all of his bluster, had enough self-awareness that when he saw the teenagers and 20-something’s on Leon’s DOGE team that Leon planned to deploy inside the Treasury, etc. to try and take control of the United States’s governments finances, that Vivek knew that he needed to get the fuck out of DOGE.

He will never win the the race for Governor of Ohio and he knows it.  He’s all about raising his brand as much as possible, but he doesn’t seem like a True Believer in Musk’s efforts to destroy the country.
