He's either wrong or lying.  (Not that it matters.  He'll just keep at it.)

There is plenty of water in CA:

https://cdec.water.ca.gov/resapp/RescondMain

It's slightly complicated.  Some amount of water from Norcal is kept in Norcal to maintain ecosystems that house endangered species like the Delta Smelt.

If the Delta Smelt is ignored, more water heads south.  But south means Central Valley, not LA, where the wildfires are.  Of course, LA was founded on stealing water from the Central Valley, but I'm not sure where that stands.

So, ultimately, Trump is lying.

Trump is saying all this bullshit about Greenland, Canada, the Panama Canal, etc., so no one will remember how he said he's going to deport all the browns, bring down inflation and end the Ukrainian war in 1 day.

He's not going to do any of the shit he said he would, so he throws a bunch of other bullshit against the wall....and it's working.

As soon as it's clear he's too stupid to accomplish any of the new bullshit, he'll move onto the next ridiculous claim/subject.  Rinse and repeat.

I hate him and the media so much.

Lol yeah trump and a jackass failed mayoral candidate are pushing the message that "Gavin NewScum" is failing the state and it's a "scandal" because there's no water.

So weird how you just happen to repeat the party line and launder the context of your completely, totally, original thought. NoCR tho amirite

Whatever.

I haven't seen Trump's commentary on this.

Fire protection water is a must have to get development approved anywhere.  Of course much of this may be grandfathered in to systems that wouldn't be allowed currently.  If fire protection rules were skirted its a huge scandal.  thats all I said.

It’s embarrassing to be an American these days. Our president elect speaks in broken English in his press conferences and on social media, threatening to take territories from our allies against their will.

A couple of years ago the world watched in horror as Putin invaded Ukraine. We have helped Ukraine resist. We have also been waiting to see if China would be bold enough to forcefully take Taiwan.

How exactly is the U.S. any different than Russia or China if we go down this path? We will tariff our enemies into submission and force Denmark to give up Greenland? Force Canada to become a state? I suppose there will be less bloodshed but our soon to be leader is still talking very openly about a hostile takeover of allied territories.

This bullshit about America First is no different than Russia First or PRC First. We are becoming our enemies.

The problem is that when you look around the world, it’s hard to know who the good guys are anymore. If WW3 happens, who will be the voice of reason?

Probably the Germans and the Japanese.

I'm not worried about WW3, though. The last WW was preceded by aggy's only MNC. An Aggy playoff run, let alone a title, seems quite unlikely in the near future. But when Elko is inevitably mucked, if they hire a real winner, look out.

Yep. We are fucked.

I'll be the first to admit I'm weirdly optimistic about this. A lot of it has to do with the fact that the entire GOP knows he's term limited and becomes politically weaker every day he's in office.

Not to mention that water is fed by snowmelt and if it’s a low snow year, the forests in NorCal stay dry and are at more risk for fire. Paradise might have something to say about it.

Water for LA and the surrounding area comes from the LA aqueduct, which is fed from the Southern Sierra.  It has nothing to do with NorCal.

We’ll see. I truly hope I and others are totally wrong and are embarrassed for even entertaining it. But like that article said, Hitler either ignored the laws or perverted them. We know trump is capable of doing both of those, he already has.

You think Trump will be OK if CA somehow withholds its tax money, even as he tries to choke the state out?  Not happening.  And yet somehow, lots of R's in this state will still vote for him.  And yes, provided he continues to live, there will be a push to let him run a third time.

Yeah, I harbor some hope along these lines.  His ability to bring votes to the GOP is growing limited by, if nothing nothing else, his impending death, let alone his inability to run for further office.

I sit just outside this mindset and hope beyond hope that we just coast on basic economic awesomeness over the next 4 years. But there's also a part of me - for any fear raised that may seem likely or foolish - what if they try? What are we prepared to do and how far our we prepared to let it go? I've grown oh so weary of conservatives wearing the piss out of what-if scenarios till the thought exercise has lost all meaning. But what if they try? What then? I fear there's not enough people that matter right now that can stop them if they do. My best hope is they're too stupid to succeed, like the first go round. Can we really afford to find out? Guess we're about to!

Your faith in this is misguided.

We have a Supreme Court that is 6-3.  I have no faith at all that they would faithfully adhere the Constitution if the question was put before them regarding his eligibility to serve 2 consecutive terms vs 2 non-consecutive terms, and what the 22nd amendment actually "meant".

Two things on this.  The current SCOTUS doesn't serve Trump per se.  A policy that favors Trump needs to favor some other aspect of the christofascist/P2025 agenda.  I'm not sure how this would serve any interest other than Trump.

Second, the 22nd was drafted and ratified in the modern era, so it doesn't suffer the vagary of many of the founding documents and first 100-150 years of legislation, so it is far less susceptible to fuckery.

It hasn't even begun yet and he's just going to continue to decline.

I'm really going to have to triage news a lot more thoroughly than I did last time around. If it's not direct economic, housing, or climate/environmental policy, trying to start wars, or further eroding democracy, I am preemptively not giving a fuck.

I can't do four more years of getting worked up about wanting to nuke hurricanes or annex Greenland or drinking bleach to cure COVID or whatever. There is going to be new, really dumb shit on a near daily basis. Probably getting dumber as he ages. Gotta pace yourself and not take the bait.
