My aunt was in hospice and was distraught over not getting to vote for Trump in 2020. It is a weird cult.

I hope this isn't in the worst of taste, but ...

Trump Voter Gets Choked Up After ICE Detains a Third of His Staff

Vincent Scardina supported Donald Trump’s tough stance on immigration at the ballot box. But that decision came back to bite the roofing boss when ICE detained a third of his workforce.

The six men, all from Nicaragua, were pulled over in a work truck on May 27 while heading to a job—and carted off to jail.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies helped transport the men to a local detention facility “for deportation.”

Scardina, who runs a small roofing business in Florida’s Lower Keys, cannot believe it. “It’s quite a shock. You get to know these guys, you become their friends—not just an employer but a friend,” he told NBC6, visibly emotional.

Adding to Scardina’s annoyance, the men had valid work permits and pending asylum applications, according to their attorney Regilucia Smith. “They are legally here,” she said. “Valid work permit, not even close to expired… again, no criminal records—not here, not in Nicaragua.”

Scardina says he voted for Trump and still supports many of the former president’s policies, but this isn’t what he signed up for. “Buyer’s remorse? I don’t know, a little bit.”

The detained men represented a third of his total staff—devastating in a small labor pool like Key West. “We’re not able...to just replace people as easily as, say, a big city, [with] very limited people to pull from, and then you would have to train them, and that takes sometimes years,” he said.

Even more jarring, three of the workers have now been transferred to detention centers in Texas and California. The rest remain in local custody, as their lawyer fights to have them released.

Still, his colleague, Virgil Scardina, says they count themselves lucky. “I get to go home and hug my kid,” he said. “These guys don’t. And they don’t deserve that.”

Saw that bit on MSNBC yesterday.

More bullshit.  They always say they support the "policies" but never cite them, or say the support this policy but they wish it was better thought out.  Those dumbfucks can never admit they rage voted exactly for this.   Chaos, debt, markets, loss of prestige, violation of law and norms, corruption, incompetence, riots, and pain.  This is exactly what they did last time.

Same.  I've either defriended or hidden a huge chunk of my family  and friends.

Heard this story today. She voted for dotard because she wanted doge because they were going to save money so they could upgrade their computer system. It totally amazes me that people really thought this was about anything other than dotard himself. I relish in the feasting of the leopards, but it just reminds how so much of the American electorate are just fucking idiots.

When interviewing these shocked people, they should be asked why they would ever believe anything Trump says given his well documented penchant for lying.

Unfortunately, seven partners is probably well within normal attrition rates among big firms.

Kasper fails to fill out a form during obama’s administration.

4 years of dotard. Not dotard’s fault that Kasper wasn’t notified of missing form because reasons.

4 years of biden. Kasper notified of missing form in sept 2024 because “they weren’t keeping watch”. Not keeping watch. But found problem via magic.

biden’s fault that he’s detained by trump.

Logic checks out.

Let’s Go Kasper

The things that would have to go wrong for the Democrats to win enough Senate seats to impeach Trump boggle the mind.

But I guess we are well on our way. Start a war and crash the economy.

True. Yeah I don't know how badly the Republicans would have to fuck up to end up with only 40 Senators. He could probably piss on Jesus while ripping up the Constitution standing the remains of aborted babies in the middle of a bombed out city beside a bread line and still win in lots of those states.

We’re headed to maine for a week next month. We’re staying at one of the hotels in the kennebunkport resort collection. I’m gonna see if I can get a free bottle of bubbly by demonstrating my authentic canadian vernacular, eh. Will report back on my success.

We’re also staying around camden for a few days. Will make it to acadia for a day before it’s sold off as timber.

Given our place in Vermont, that map got me wondering how my town voted. It was that last blue town going up the Eastern border before you hit the reds and whites.

In defense of Jay and a lot of the places up there, Vermont is pretty damn thin. I mean look at that vote 161 v 144 - BARELY 300 people and an 17 VOTE swing. And I would guess that the bulk of those people have no ties to or support of Jay Peak. They probably don't even feel the impact of the lack of tourism. It's a weird area.

More likely that there's a higher percentage of people working in law enforcement. I bet nationwide a law enforcement household correlates to a Trumpist household by over 90%

No, that’s not true.

He won’t have to run. We’ve had our last POTUS election. It’s a hereditary monarchy now.
