Did anyone else get the Amber Alert style Flash Flood warning, or just me? Do I need to pepper my angus?

That, and a tornado watch.

But I'm sure it's fine.  Everything is fine.

We get it eleventeen times - by text, by phone, in English, in spanish, in semaphore, on your Insta feed, poured into your drink like a roofie, etc.

Mind you, for a flood warning in "the area"....which in this case, means areas well to our east.  When it actually came through on my phone, the heaviest rain had long since passed.

It's kinda like issuing a hurricane warning days after the storm had passed, when you're settled into your routine of finishing up cooking the last of the meat from your freezer before it gets warm and spoils.

I think I saw reports of sunny weather this afternoon in Austin. Going to feel and smell like a pair of soccer socks worn during soccer practice in the drizzle.

I got 2 back to back calls on my Teams chat. I had forgotten you can actually call people on there until today.

At least the rivers will still be puddles by then thanks to this rain.

The creek behind my house is running higher now than it has since the USGS table that is online started in 2003. It is about 75 yards wide. We moved here a year ago and the creek has basically been dry since last April.

Nah…I am good. I am a good 30 feet above it. It can’t get up to my house.

The good news is that it has pushed out all of the tree trimming I have thrown down there since I moved in.
