And as I suspected, the rainfall next week has drifted southwards. If this were to verify, the lakes would get a really nice bump going into summer.

Still really good flow into Buchanan. It’s over 1000 feet this morning for the first time in a long time.

Is it just from the initial fill up or ongoing refills? Never owned a pool.

I have a small pool that holds about 11k gallons. In the winter I may add 100 gallons a month. In the dead of summer I probably add about 800 gallons a month.

It will be interesting to see what happens when these two blobs of water meet.

Isn’t that how babies are made?

Pretty cool graphic.  And yeah, our casa was just inside the 65 mph+ area, which checks out.

Crazy, but I believe those numbers. Sorry about the job, you’re supposed to get all the girls working at the pool in the summer.

You missed the part where he said he was ugly?

I was right in the middle of the god damn red.  Good thing I was hunkered down in a bar.

It’s bad but not catastrophic . Gonna be lots of damage west side of town. My folks are southwest and had golf ball to tennis ball hail for almost 15 minutes straight. Lots of trees and power poles down.

Sorry to hear that. My sister in law’s parents live there and one niece and the niece is house sitting in a house near Post (which is where it looks like that shit is headed) but the house has a basement and hoping she’s in it. Can’t get in touch with her. The niece.

I imagine the evaporation off of a municipal pool as a function of capacity dwarfs that of a residential pool.  They're both roughly the same depth, but the surface area of the public pool is massive.

Not just evap, but the sheer number of people getting in and out and dragging water out with them.

yeah but it is moderated by the pee factor.

If they are the same depth, then the surface area should have the same proportion to capacity in both.

If you lose 1/4" of depth per day to evaporation in both pools, which one loses more water?

As a fraction/proportion of the capacity, both would be the same.

Heard there were twin twisters at one point.

zero edge pools are much worse on water loss. a very thin/sheer surface area on the wall water trickles down to the basin. that surface area to depth is non-existent.

But they are so choice.  If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

David Reimer saying possible Derecho and severe storms from the panhandle to to NE Texas.

Damaging winds (consistent 60 to 100mph) and embedded tornadoes.

If that would bullseye here instead of north Texas we’d get 15-20 feet of rise in the lakes.

Sigh. Top of NW Hills, a bit of wind damage with this one (small sticks and such, knocked some light patio furniture over). Made a hell of a racket and woke us up to boot.

Headin to work last night and as I rounded a curve in the driveway I see a fairly big elm tree fell blocking the drive. Luckily I have a back way out and used it. Unfortunately, when I got home this morning I had to dig my chainsaw out from the junk corner of my garage then go remove the tree. Nothing like working a 12 hour shift then coming home to run a chainsaw for an hour.

Had a helluva storm blow through yesterday evening. Torrential winds, hail, and rain that lasted all of 10-15 minutes. Quite a bit of damage in the downtown area.

Fortunately, my neighborhood was spared the worst of it.
