Arch easily be a top 10 Qb, though lets be honest that is not a major achievement. He was a major portion of the OSU loss, though I do not think Texas wins that game if he plays better. OSU would have opened up the offense, but that is a different discussion. Florida was the game I watched and started feeling better about Arch. Though I also felt worst about Texas as the defense was horrible and the OL was next level bad.

What? His INT gave them only their 2nd drive on our side of the 50. If he could hit a fucking crosser right they probably score on the final drive to and have a chance to tie the game.

If we had Aggie/Michgan or even OU/Vandy Arch we win that game.

I see other schools 995ers are now throwing out the Texas make their collectives feel good, to go along with players using the Texas name to drive up prices and sound important. This is the first time I've heard this guy's name from anyone. Of course, he's not in the portal and still in the playoffs, so maybe that's it...

Based on what?

The 10 points against Indiana and 14 points they scored against Miami?

It was a flawed offense that feasted on a pretty weak B1G schedule and struggled against the 2 playoff teams they faced and Texas

Yeah, it turns out they just didn't have a very good offense this year. Sayin was fine when he had wide open receivers to throw to, nothing special when that wasn't the case.

Captains log star date three portal Kombat has been a dud so far. We are day three and Stark is getting stuffed in a locker by Cody Campbell. Brown took one look at Austin and said fuck it. I’m going back to Louisville. Michigan linemen came for the cake. Cam Coleman walked out of meetings per aggy and high tailed it to college station. But on the up and up we should be about 85% solid in special teams.

We're never going to win another football game, are we?

The 5.75 yards per play vs Indiana was the 2nd most IU has given up all year.

The 5.63 yards per play was the 2nd most Miami gave up all year.

I did not think Sayin should be a Heisman finalist and was over-rated, but OSU skill players were probably the best in the nation. If the Texas offense was doing anything I think OSU throws more than 20 times vs Texas and throws downfield much more. OSU ran it 34 times and threw 20 times, you do not get much more conservative than that. Most of those 20 attempts were throws around the LOS. I am not a big believer in the idea that if you change one variable in a game, none of the other variables change. I could be wrong; it is just my opinion.

Or maybe it was their gameplan against a very stiff Texas defense and they don't change much util late in the game if Texas has the lead

You can probably do the math on Raleek Brown given this

Negged for talking about transfer portal recruiting and not Texas @ Ohio State from 8/30/2025

Who needs OL or RBs when we can spend money on 3 enormous DL and 2-3 edges after we went into the portal only looking for one guy on the DL?

It’s pretty remarkable that Sark wants edges and interior defensive linemen more than he wants receivers. Not what you would expect from a former QB and offensive coordinator. It’s a good thing for us, I think.

If an edge can drop back in pass coverage, perhaps he can be moved to WR. 4-dimensional thinking?

This is my favorite part of sports message boards. Fans complaining about early results compared to what fan expectations were.

You know, the fan expectations that were driven by insider info from insiders whose info was wrong that created the disappointment in the first place. It's a weird self-propelling vortex of crying.

"Insiders told us that we would get all these guys and we were targeting only one DL but we didn't get these guys they were wrong about that but we were definitely only targeting one DL why would they be wrong about that oh my god what are we doing wrong somebody think of the children?!?"

Andrew Sprague, OL, Michigan

Solid: Missouri

We anticipate he’ll take that Missouri visit. With starting experience and multiple years of eligibility remaining, he’s a very attractive target, especially to Texas. My guess is the initial Texas offer will need to increase a bit. I know there’s optimism on him despite not signing. Missouri pursued him hard out of high school so there’s some familiarity there. I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes other visits than Missouri or if Michigan tries to keep him. He played RT.

So dumb - if we really want this guy why would we make an offer that everyone will counter. Are we all in? Is this a guy we prioritized?

Both of these are not true. I think you should take this up with Muschamp.

This isn’t last year when we were bringing back 2 scholarship DTs. How many new NIL deals do you think we should allocate funds for on the DL on top of what we’ve already got?

I am hoping the fact that Sprague and Guarnera were roommates their Freshmen year will lead them to make a joint decision to Texas.

You're not wrong, but to be fair to myself (and the other crybabies on here), my "fan expectations" of what we would target in the portal were based on my own perceptions of what we need, rather than anything that the 9.95ers said.

We need an experienced every-down RB. We need starter-quality OL at guard and center. Based on what I'm seeing and hearing, we are trying to meet those needs, but are not having success.

Plus, I don't love the big softbody IDL we took from Arkansas. Hope he proves me wrong, but that seems like wasted time and money that could be better spent on meeting our needs on offense.

I like the Arkie DL signing, don’t really see the 2026 spend value on Zion Williams if we’re kicking the tires there. Don’t really understand bringing a DE from UTSA in to a room with Simmons, Lance Jackson, Zina, Vasek, Wesley, etc.

Feels like we’re trying to manufacture momentum with guys who we’re confident we can land rather than putting money toward the priorities, but maybe we really are ALL IN.

Worked out great for the Brown prediction. 10/10 not listening to these fucking idiots again.

Wells is a moron, but Brown was coming if he ever actually entered the portal. He posted a thank you note saying he was leaving, then Louisville held him hostage until he resigned.

Zion is already in the portal, and he’s from Lufkin. That’s Wells’ neck of the woods. Also isn’t a hotly contested situation, so it will likely resolve itself in short order.

I think that is Muschamp looking at the DT room and saying he needs some true NTs.

Gerry mentioned this the other day. Muschamp is looking to add some twitchier guys on the EDGE. Simmons and Orogobo are the only ones that can play that Hybrid position over-hang position. That can drop and rush the passer. Jackson, Zina, Vasek, and Wesley are bit larger. This used to be easier when they called them OLB and DEs.

Apparently the two Michigan OLs are in Ann Arbor meeting with the staff there.

Such a shame Texas didn’t know they needed OLs and couldn’t get ahead of it more than they have

Fair enough, but it still seems like a very unbalanced allocation of NIL funds on the DL between our last two classes and this portal period compared to other areas of extreme need.

i feel like the complaining wouldnt be as loud if they had just said that they would do thier best.

going all in means no limits. pay whatever you need to pay to get it done and just put your dick on the table. our people are so obsessed with doing things the right way that we never seem to get over that hump to truly being dominant in the entire sport.

He was in the portal last year and Ole Miss snapped him up. I think it was Arkansas from which he hailed, and they were not excited to lose him, especially to a semi-rival. Texas never reached out to him.

You continue to blurt out this drivel about "Ohio State would have just opened up the offense" when there is a mountain of evidence at this point that that, well, was their fucking offense. They needed to open it up against multiple other teams and couldn't really do it. You can cite advanced statistics as some sort of solve for your position and the rest of will continue to look at the scoreboards and question just what in the fuck it is you think you are highlighting. Keep tilting at those windmills though, we have only seen your take on this subject roughly 1700 times since early September.

So far our portal haul is 2 special teamers and a DL. Offense recruits may still be waiting to see if Flood is actually being retained

Edit: I guess that just changed. Welcome, new TE. Flood is here to stay!?
