Gata got a Baylor interior defensive lineman and a safety from the transfer portal.

That is the only reason I know that 25 Baylor players entered the portal. lol

so every portal dude just says "Texas and $1M"

Yes and they all look like this

dr-evil-one-billion-dollars.gif

Raleek Brown had over 1400 all-purpose yards and 6 TDs. Given the numbers we’ve seen thrown out for other players - 1-1.5 doesn’t seem an outrageous ask.

Not super wound up about losing out on Coleman, I guess. His drops issues aren't going to disappear, and I'm willing to bet he'll drop a critical pass from Reed at least once next season.

That being said, can anyone sincerely tell me one facet of his job Chris Jackson is doing well at this point? If our offer was roughly equal with A&M's as CTJ stated, it's yet another data point against Jackson and his two-year extension that he couldn't sell Coleman on our offense vs. A&M's.

The one clip posted here on the deep ball he bobbles it was dropped in perfectly. My head would explode if we had Wingo and Coleman dropping passes

Has to be the first player we've ever recruited from Avon Old Farms. Think the school from The Dead Poets Society and that's Avon. East Coast boarding school. Fun fact: both George Springer and hockey goalie Jonathan Quick attended

That euphoria sure changed in a hurry. Frankly, I don't think anyone should feel good about him visiting Tech. Their billionaire makes it not that different from visiting Oregon. They are going to overpay for him because they have to. They have a willing bag wielder.

I’d rather Tech overpay for him than aggy.

I laughed.

If Texas balks at $1M for Raleek Brown, they’ve been misjudging this cycle’s market for the better part of a year. JFC if so.

Well we wouldn’t have said “all in” if we’d known the prices. We really meant “yeah, we’ll take a good deal.”

One issue that is rarely addressed here is that if you sign someone like Brown at 1.5 this early you risk having your most valuable current players threaten to jump in the portal if they aren’t adjusted based on the level you set with the new guy. That 1.5m could end up costing you 10m or more to keep everyone home and happy.

Moon shots and all in, let’s fucking go!

This 9.95 shit fest is actually kinda comical to watch.

Deals arent publicly disclosed. So you just need to keep it under wraps.

According to NY Times here is the cost of doing business in the portal this yr.

QB: $1M to $4M

OT: $600K to $1.3M

RB: $400K to $900K

WR: $500Kto $1M

TE: $300K to $900K

Edge rushers: $500K to $2M

Interior DL: $500K to $1.5M

Corners: $250K to $1M

Safeties: $250K to $900K

Has Sark been binging Dave Ramsey clips on YouTube

He's a 5'6", 160 lb waterbug from ASU?

Yes Dave

And he wants a million dollars for one year?

Correct

But he will be your backup running back?

That's right Dave

And you think this is a good deal?

Uh huh

Can I be upset if we lose Coleman but also think that there's probably a lot of good WR left?

Someone should have sent Cam a video showing Reed’s every pass thrown in the Texas game. That’ll cure him quick because to be a NFL receiver you need to be able to show catches.

there is, at some point, a finite amount of money. not everyone can jump to a better spot or get more money.

Article also said Coleman is expected at Tech tomorrow and will visit Bama later this week.

If budget allows, Bryson Washington would be a good bigger back to pair with Raleek. Or Adam Mohammed from Washington.

Was going to post the same thing about these two specifically. Ralek Brown is a legitimately good get and a clear upgrade from Trey Wisner. But he needs to be part of a package.

Mohammed really flashed late in the season as he got more carries, shredded Oregon, and would probably have run for 1,000 yards next year (he was behind Jonah Coleman this year) as Washington's featured back. He has an NFL future and I would hope Texas kicks the tires.

Bryson Washington I think is probably a bit more JAGgy but he's still produced 1,800 career yards in a P4 league and a 5.5 ypc average at volume. Both are guys that can play at 215-220 and fill the workman inside runner role.

Sounds like Coleman to Tech. Not surprising when we all knew he was going to the highest bidder.

We don't know this. Sure he wants to maximize his bid, but if he's smart and his agents and inside counsel are wise, he'll pick the place that maximizes his NFL draft and use the largest bid to leverage his desired landing spot offer.

I like the vandy kid too, but not as a plan b, because he's a different kind of weapon to Coleman.

I think Sproles was tougher than either Brown. But Sark knows how to use them.
