From Bobby in today's thread letting more info out. If he's got the okay, we're okay.

"Wingo is back. He was truly dehydrated. That’s not a one day return. Campbell was a mild concussion. Granted that’s the first time I’ve mentioned the concussion with Campbell but there’s a reason for that.

Unsure why you’re not buying it or what there is to buy. You guys have to trust us a little at least by now."

He also said that Jonah Williams was a full participant.

Good old Mensa Tom.  I'd bet half of surly is smarter than that guy.  Here are Mensa's requirements for membership via the SAT:

Eleven Warriors projects the OSU 3 deep based on practice observations and insider discussions. Image below. Nothing incredibly surprising. There's debate about Atkinson over Curry and some athletic freak named Julani Thurman not being listed at TE. From the thoughts of people who have been to their practices, the Thurman guy has skillets for hands. Bo Jackson is kicking ass in their fall camp and a few of the mods believe he'll pass Donaldson, if not Peoples, at some point this season.

Was it booze related? Bobby said something about these guys “needing to take care of their bodies”.

My guess would be simply dehydration to the point of vomiting. Anyone curious about why they’d be held out the following day should look into the Korey Stringer story.

it is pretty simple. Texas just put on pads yesterday. It's a long season. The staff should be extremely cautious this time of year. There is nothing to be gained rushing a player back in August.

A little surprised it was the receiver, and not OG, that didn't have himself ready for the heat and dehydration of practice 1. Especially the guy expected to be our top dog receiver this year. Get your shit together son.

The loss of Andre Cojoe is significant. Back-up offensive linemen, especially ones with experience inside the program, are very valuable.

Cojoe’s unfortunate injury reveals a thin depth chart at tackle. The only back-up with beyond one semester of experience on campus is Jaydon Chatman.

Sure, Nick Brooks is doing great things.

But let’s remember, this is already a “new” offensive line heading into the season. Brooks, while an outstanding talent, would be yet another new face that must be counted on.

It’s a tough loss for Texas.

The Horns surely can not afford to lose another tackle.

I was told I was a pessimist and a doomer for worrying about Cojoe's injury and our O-line depth. Surprise surprise, Burton is worried as well.

And LOL at the notion that the Doak Walker Award watch list means anything. Le'Veon Moss and Reuben Owens are on it as well, I guess that means A&M has a stacked RB room? https://ncfaa.org/awards/doak-walker-award

That state of the DL reminds me a lot of how we as Texas fans probably feel about our OL. Quite a few older guys who have been around a while but don't have a lot of on-field production. Adding Atkinson from UNC was a solid pickup, but I remember someone noting a while back that half his sack production last year came in one game against Florida State.

More true freshmen than expected in that defensive two deep.

They had a shit load of turnover on defense. They showed a graphic during the Rose Bowl and I believe Downs was their only non-senior starter. A lot of 5 and 6 year guys.

I mean it’s just another data point that your concern trolling is unwarranted, not the full picture. Moss is a good back yea?

We mentioned this morning that Jonah Williams is practicing more completely with the team. Now we can report fellow blue chip freshman DB Kade Phillips is no longer truly limited either.

Both had been nursing hamstring issues to start training camp.

One more note: Williams has seen brief action as a kick returner.

**

I’m told freshman wide receiver Kaliq Lockett seems to be improving on a regular basis.

While Daylan McCutcheon had been the first freshman receiver to become “reliable”, Lockett appears next in line.

It should be noted, all four freshman receivers have looked good during camp. Lockett, Jamie Ffrench and even Michael Terry have narrowed the gap that was so evident in spring between themselves and McCutcheon.

**

Graceson Littleton drew yet more praise. Xavier Filsaime also seems to be moving in the right direction.

But perhaps the best news in the secondary is the health and progress of Derrick Williams. I’m told Williams looked especially good on Monday morning.

**

I was also told that on Monday morning, CJ Baxter continued to look good. He “has not been hesitant all camp.”

**

Based on what I have heard, I’d say Maraad Watson and Alex January are your most likely day one starters at DT. I am told Watson is surprisingly athletic and January has just been all business during camp, but really extending back to a point in early winter workouts.

**

Obviously, this is all from yesterday. The team starts Tuesday’s practice just about now (3pm CT).

Yeah, I’m going to stop paying attention to starting DT declarative sentences. I believe OTF said Kanu and Shaw last week.

They took the field in the first practice as the starting duo. Hence them being referenced as much.

In reality, everyone gets too focused on who starts at too many positions. QB? Okay, sure. WR or OL? Fine. LB? yeah. But at positions where we know they rotate a ton of guys equally, such as RB, Safety and DL, it doesn't really matter.

I dk why I’m more excited about Watson than most of the transfers (endries, bouw/shipley close) but I think he’s going to make a difference this and especially next year. Happy to see his name appear more and more in practice reports. Know an actual Syracuse football fan, I know who knew, was livid losing him.

Our DT room is stout and stacked.  The DC will role out different starting lineups based on our opponents with plenty of rotations.  They did that a lot last year.  We know that we have 4-6 absolute studs at DT this year that can help us stay fresh and absolutely wreck opposing offenses.

Apparently Jordan Coleman has been practicing with the tackles. Might be able to give us some garbage time snaps. Arms look pretty long, Cojoe’s look unusually long.

I get him confused with his brother but wasn't that the idea when they signed? Jordan at RT and Devin at G/C?

His recruiting scouting report

Spoiler

Big-bodied offensive lineman with heavy snaps at guard and overwhelming size that could likely also live at right tackle in the long term. Gets out of his feet from time to time, but shows encouraging bending ability for a player of his size. Displays above average quickness at the snap and gets on top of defenders with force. Packs some punch as a puller and climber. Flashes quick feet when pulling into the hole as a lead blocker. Promising short-area agility in general. Feet stay active on contact to foster block-finishing ability. Looks for more work when available. Plays with a pretty wide base in pass protection. Faces high-level high school competition at the Texas 6A level in the DFW Metroplex. Still developing hand placement consistency, as well as general balance and body control. Naturally high center of gravity compromises sudden power occasionally. Projects to the P4 level as a possible combo lineman with guard-tackle capability. Gifted physically and possesses developmental upside to potentially provide a high ceiling.

That would actually be a terrific bet that if he gets 750 you have to wear that custom jersey to every game in 2026.

My memory fails me, but who was the poster so concerned about tailored (Houston?) jerseys? He was gay or bi or something.

Health Updates Following Tuesday's Full-Padded Practice

***

Steve Sarkisian spoke with the media Tuesday evening after getting off of the practice field for the first full-padded practice of fall camp.

• WR Ryan Wingo
"Remains a day away" according to Sarkisian. Wingo was absent from practice late last week due to dehydration. Sarkisian says they are aiming for Thursday to be a full return to practice for the Texas WR.

• RG DJ Campbell
Campbell was back at practice Tuesday and participating with the offensive line.

OnTexasFootball has learned that DB Michael Taaffewas in a green non-contact jersey Tuesday evening. No comment was made from Steve Sarkisian regarding the ailment or reason for Taaffe in the green penny.

***

The Texas defensive backs are doing a fine job getting in the passing lanes early on in fall camp. Malik Muhammad has multiple interceptions over Monday and Tuesday's practices. OTF was told Tuesday evening that CB Jaylon Guilbeau has looked very comfortable at cornerback and was creating all sorts of disruption in the secondary on Tuesday.

Jelani McDonald was singled out for having a strong Tuesday practice by Steve Sarkisian. And Warren Roberson continues to earn praise.

***

RT Brandon Baker had two really solid reps, one of which was perhaps the rep of the day pancaking one of the younger defensive ends (I was not given a name) in one on ones.

***

One additional nugget that I picked up on was RB Christian Clark was the first back on the field when the 2nd team took the field for live periods against the defense. Clark ended up with a solid gain on a screen play according to a source.

Insider Practice Notes (Tuesday 7:25 PM)

Blake Munroe

By Blake Munroe

- Today’s practice was described as being on the lighter side, in the sense that there wasn’t much tackling/going to the ground.

- Two areas of emphasis today, offensively, was the running game and working on screens.

- There wasn’t a ton of action for the WRs today through the air. The running backs and tight ends were clearly the focal point.

- I’m told the most impressive group on the offense today was the tight ends.

- Jack Endries had a great day of practice and was the first name mentioned to me.

- The most impressive play of the day came on a touchdown reception to Nick Townsend by way of KJ Lacey. It was described as a “sick catch.”

- Jordan Washington was used a lot today as well and turned in a solid practice.

- Both Arch Manning and Trey Owens threw a pick today. Owens’ interception came from Warren Roberson, but I don’t know who picked off Arch.

- Matthew Caldwell was described as “solid”.

- I was told the defense is “insane” and that they looked and played lights out today.

- One thing to note, defensively, is that there was a lot of substitution going on the entire practice at nearly every position.

- The d-line as a whole was the first group mentioned. They had a very solid day.

- DT Travis Shaw was described as a monster.

- The defensive backs looked “great” regardless if the first or second team was in.

- Jonah Williams was full steam ahead again today.

Who's the guy? Looks familiar but I cant place him, and I can't tell what he said his name was. Something Powell?
