#1 Texas is now just 5 days away from one of most anticipated seasons in school history.  Coach Sark will kick things off with his weekly press conference this morning.

I cannot wait for the illuminating lines of questions from: FCB, Kirk Bowels and the broader collection of Longhorn hating fucktards to take place.

“Coach how do you respond to the Ole Miss DC calling you an alcoholic and having his own unhealthy daddy fetish for Nick Saban?”

fify

That Pete Golding called Sark an alcoholic on the recruiting trail while he was getting caught for DUIs is so fucking rich.

For fuck's sake, we start the season presser with a god damn corporate sponsor?

Like the one plastered on the wall behind him? College football is definitely back when Surly finds something to bitch about.

I've never been a journalist, but maybe ask a question where we're actually interested in the answer? I hate these, "Hey coach, can you talk about the city of Columbus for a few minutes please? Thanks."

Ask about Goosby's health. Ask who the backup QB will be.

The writers ask those inane questions because they have their story half-written in their head and they are trying to get a quote that fits into what they want to write.

Sark kind of brushes off the redzone improvement question.  Says they improved last year from the season before and need to continue to improve.

Was that Kurt Bowels?

LOL "this chair is driving me nuts"

I wonder who our offensive tackles will be. I wonder who will be playing nickel. I wonder what Mosley's status will be. Oh well, just keep up with the generic "Coach, this team is different from last year's team. There are players on that team that are no longer on this team. Thoughts?"

Good question from Cedric Golden. "Coach you have players on the team like Taaffe and Moore, who have played college football before. Thoughts?"

This.  He said Goosby available but of course he doesn't ask an obvious follow up "who is the next tackle up if he struggles or is re-injured"?

I wonder how the RBs who missed all of last season look and how much they'll play on Saturday. I wonder what's going on with the Stanford transfer who was expected to start. I wonder who will go in at QB if Arch gets hurt. I wonder what the rotation at DT will look like with the five transfers. I wonder if Baker will move to LT if Goosby can't go, and if so who will play RT.

These are all questions we've been asking around here for a month but our local sportswriters can't ask the head coach for some reason. Are they instructed to just keep it as generic and boring as possible?

This is why we need press credentials. And to add in our own brand of smart ass/ asshole-ness to the sports journalism universe.

It feels like Roger Wallace is the only guy he likes, which is fair.  Sark forgot the first part of Chip's question when he tacked on a second question, and then after Chip repeated the first part and Sark answered he said "I forgot the second part".  Fucking brutal roast of Chip.  It's fascinating to see new coaches learn to hate the same old hacks.

No questions about CJ.  No questions about the rest of the running backs.

I did learn that CDC and team scour for noncon opponents, bring options to Sark, but he has right of refusal.  That's interesting.

You've waited this long, what's a few more days?  I would bet the athletic dept doesn't want in depth questions that might also be helpful to Ohio St.  The idiots asking the questions are actually useful in that regard.
