The last 3 weeks I basically said “we ain’t losing to no Kentucky, MSST or Vandy” bc we are better than all them and they are bottom tier shit schools. Guess what?  Losers know how to lose, and Kentucky was slightly more interested in losing that game than we were and MSST snatched defeat from the jaws of victory like I knew they could. Vandy just isn’t near as good as us. Plucky overachievers that aren’t schematically unique tend to get drilled by uber talented Big State U, which is what happened when they played Bama and us, and I suspect that might happen when they get TN later in the year.

This though, this is different. Until I see differently I’m going to go with “we ain’t beating no Georgia”. Unless we do. There are certainly things we could do to make that happened. I just don’t trust Arch, Sark our OL, our RB or our receivers to come out and be excellent. I’m also not sure I trust PK to scheme anything unique against their offense where the defense more or less single handedly wins the game for us. Could it happen? Sure. I just have to see it first before I believe it.

Georgia isn’t better than us. They get us at home- advantage them. We get them off a bye and a team that should be healthy and have game planned for them for 2 weeks. Advantage us. Kirby Smart apparently controls the refs. Advantage them.  We have played like absolute shit on the road all year with at least one of our units (offense v OSU, defense v Florida- though O wasn’t great, offense v Kentucky and defense v MSST).  We need a complete game, called well by the coaches and officiated cleanly to win. It also would help if the ball bounced our way just once- unlike the 6 bad breaks we got in the SEC title game last year. That seems like a lot. I’m betting against it until I see it.

Booooooooooo Hisssssssssssssss!!

I was born in Georgia before President Roosevelt croaked in Warm Springs.
Got out of there within three weeks and haven’t been back since.
No regrets at all.

It’s an opportunity I’m not expecting these Longhorns to cease……unless the pass-blocking performance against Vanderbilt was a show of growth and improvement in pass pro, and not just an exposure of Vanderbilt’s lack of athletes on the defensive side of the ball or better play by the unit in front of a home crowd

Posted

It really all depends on Sark and his game plan. Is he going to let his ego win out and force a square peg into a round hole? Or is he going to spread things out, simplify the blocking schemes, and get the ball out of Arch's hands quickly? I just have this feeling he's going to want to use his offense against Kirby and the results will be predictable.

Offense is improving but pass defense is bad. Gave up 31 and 38 in back to back weeks with guys running wide open all day. Getting Taafe back will help but expect Kirby to pick on Guilbeau early and often via Humphreys and Branch.

Hope I'm wrong.

When you crunch all the numbers, we have no chance…zero….don't even know if we should even get off the bus.  But…we generally play better after a couple of week’s rest.  If the refs lay low….who knows?

Watch their tight ends.

The last bye week we had we prepped for Florida and came out looking the worst Texas has been in ages.  I don’t trust Sark in bye weeks. I don’t trust sark in big games. Kirby continues to pants him.  He’s been out coached a lot but our athletes have stepped up

this ga defensive line is going to do nasty things to our joke of an O line.

which arch do we get shell shocked scared arch.  Or let’ your nuts hang first half Vandy arch.    That will be the deciding factor

we were light years better team last year and couldn’t do it.  But whatever I’m posting this in hopes I can say I was wrong and eat crow.  But we’ve yet to put together a complete game

plus the refs in Athens with Kirby standing mid field in their ear all game won’t bode well for us

Pussy. We’re winning this game and then all of you can pee your pants about the Aggies

We are less than a year removed from a game where we outgained Kirby by 100+ yards and would have won with a kicker that wasn’t afraid of his own shadow.

There seems to be a lot of misremembering of how that SEC title game played out just because we lost at the end. We were the ones throwing punches early.

A big part of this is emotion. Kirby gets his team rabid and frothing at the mouth to beat Texas. He'll have them believing we are a 40 point favorite.

Would be nice if Sark could match that intensity. Otherwise he'll be squatting on the sideline looking lost again while his team is going down 14-0.

Almost every indicator screams Texas gets smoked.

That’s what bothers me. My normally pessimistic attitude would just kick into top gear and I’d proclaim Texas as losers - big losers. But, something feels a little off. I can’t explain it.

But maybe just maybe Texas beats their ass. On the road. With a weak OL and a leaky secondary. Arch and a few others lead them to a 6 point win.

Correct. We did that with a far superior team than this year and still lost.

It wasn’t a pantsing as you said. It’s a 2 game sample size where we arguably outplayed them in one of the 2.

A pantsing is what we have done to Brent Venables.

Makes sense.  I can see that

Perhaps the biggest challenge is the fam talking Brazilian all-you-can-eat brunch next Saturday.  Consuming that much cow and pig just hours before a night-game alcoholic consumption of Dionysian proportions could be a recipe for disaster

Unless Stockton gets hurt, or starts throwing INTs like a mad man, we won't be within 2 scores. We all know it and our entire team knows it.

that game was ours for the taking.  we lost that game way more than UGA won it.  of course we knocked out the QB we would have most certainly beat and then there was our "kicker".

If we don't turn the ball over and we have everyone healthy on D, I like our chances.

Edit: and we get a fair shake from the stripes

Georgia isn’t better than us

Ackshually, they probably are.  They've been stacking talent wood longer than we have, and possibly/probably more intelligently.

By most accounts, their DL is down from last year.  But within the expected delta of a team of its stature.

We've gone wildly outside the expected delta with subpar OL recruiting/development.  And they are positioned to make us pay.

That's before you get to coaching, and offensive skill position talent, which are either too subjective or intertwined with OL performance, or both.

That's not to say we can't or won't win, but I think UGa is, overall, a better team than we are.

We ran the ball for a total of 60 yards over 2 games against Georgia last year, and that inability to grind out yards and control some of the game ultimately did us in.

We can't effectively run the ball at all against anybody with a pulse this year, sans a decent effort against OU (where we still averaged less than 4 yards a tote)

So no, I won't count on us beating Georgia unless that somehow miraculously changes.

And this is why I keep saying our OL last year, as talented as it might have been, wasn't championship caliber.

It wilted against UGa (x2) and tOSU, particularly in the run game.  That may have been partially the RB's fault, but only partially.

I mean- maybe?  Maybe not. Maybe go fuck yourself gif. They should have been beat by Auburn and Florida but for some ref fuckery. They got beat by Bama about like we got beat by Ohio State. Last year we outplayed them big time in the SEC title game. We had more guys get drafted last year. Our ratings in recruiting and portal are pretty much the same. If they are better than us (or the other way around) it’s marginal and not the reason they beat us was the point I was making. The coaching, home field, luck or refs would probably be more likely to be the cause of a loss for us than “they are better than us”.

The same people responsible for all that had us preseason 1.

We sniff our own 9.95 farts.  Shit, we don't sniff em, we huff those motherfuckers.
