I can't really figure out a scenario where Texas makes the playoff at this point. Everyone who rooted for Oklahoma to beat Alabama should feel bad forever.

At this point the locks for the playoff look like

Ohio State

Indiana

aggy

Alabama

Georgia

Ole Miss

Texas Tech

Notre Dame (Unfortunately)

Some ACC dogshit

Some G5 dogshit

One of USC/ORE/MICH

One of the other 1 or 2 loss teams (who cares)

Will you be tuning into the playoffs at all or just pretending the season is over after aggy and the Alamo bowl?

I personally think I'll be adopting Indiana mainly for the story and the hilarious outcome of a nothing program coming up in 2 short years under cignetti with NIL and the portal.

Hoping everyone loses or they cancel the playoffs isn't an option.

Will you actually watch playoff games at all? It's a question that I honestly haven't even thought of until now because Texas has participated in the last 2 and watching the other games meant something until they lost in the semis.

If the matchup is good, sure. If meh, then I’ll pull up baseball games from last season. LA/SD-SD/LA from last June sounds like a good place to start.

We have three losses, just got smoke by Georgia. Who gives a shit about the playoffs.  This is like a Aggie team that has three losses who hasn’t beaten anyone good that we would make fun of for making a case for the playoffs in the past.  Beat them and salvage the season and don’t go 8-4. But this team doesn’t deserve playoffs and won’t win anything anyway in the playoffs anyway.

Indiana, duh.

Yeah, IU, or gulp ND.

I'm not sure IU is going to fare very well against intense competition, but we'll see.

For all the reasons we have to hate ND, Freeman is a likable guy with a likable team.

Not sure why Bama would be a lock over ou.

I'll probably root for Tech as the best chance to threaten the B1G-secsecsec duopoly.

BYU, ND, and any non-Miami ACC team too I guess (preferrably GT)

That's what I said. People before were saying OU winning gives Texas a better chance at the CCG. I was like fuck OU they should always lose.

I’ll watch., and root for, whichever G5 team makes it.  Once they get get knocked out the football season is over for me.  I’m not watching whatever piece of shit bowl matchup UT is in.  It’s time for college baseball.

my diploma says University of Texas. I will not watch the playoffs without Texas in it.  no point.

I like Marcus Freeman a lot but sick of ND. Half my family went to Tech so if they roll I will be happy for my family, particularly my uncle who had a stroke a few years back and is in poor health. I will hope for Indiana to fuck shit up I guess. What Cig has done there the past two years is nothing short of remarkable. Prior to his being HC there in Indiana’s entire history they never had a 10 win season, they now have two and that’s damned impressive.

Perhaps it's just because my team is shitty, but the playoffs don't excite me at all this year.  Lots of mediocre football teams.

I feel the same. The name brands in the top 10 are all lesser versions of recent years. Texas isn’t a playoff team. Programs like LSU and Clemson fell off a cliff. Indiana and aggy picked the perfect year to field decent teams. At least Indiana has beat some good teams. I still think aggy is a fraud that was gifted a win at ND (and possibly at Arkansas) by referees, got Mizzou’s #3 QB, an all time collapse by South Carolina, and could beat us to validate their greatness in their own minds. They beat a bunch of nobodies, but to their credit avoided stepping on their own dicks to lose to those mediocre teams in typical aggy fashion. I will never cheer for OU or aggy to win, even if some Texas berth is on the line (e.g. 2003 Big 12 championship KSU-OU).

And to think my rage was contained largely to whether or not Disney would make a deal with YT so I wouldn’t miss out on critical games. I bleed orange but I need to shelve my expectations in order to be a die hard fan. It’s painful. We were fool’s gold. That’s the lure of Sark and his talent. I fully expected a close win last night since we appeared to be on a roll and we had a bye week to get ready. The end result was we don’t belong with the teams vying for a spot. We got asswhipped. Go Indiana I guess. It’s hard not to root for Cig. Especially since he re-upped with Indiana and took himself out of contention from the coaching carousel and Penn State. They proved they can finish last week. Like to see what they can do. I’d like to think we use the next few weeks and bowl appearance to get in much needed practice and evaluation and growth but I don’t know what the fuck we are actually doing in practice.

This is always the answer, always, always, always. If you think different you are regarded.

I'll watch the whole thing with the sound off and sort of pay attention while I type at people in my computer, just like every other sport I watch.

That’s kinda been my ritual. All kidding aside I thank god for surly even if I get on everyone’s nerves. At least we can talk football. My mom is like “strip the ball! QB sneak! Damnit!” And that’s too much even for me. I will watch all the games. I’m just tired of missing College Football Final on purpose lol. I hide out after losses.

No shot at what? If we beat Pitt we are in. I know we have no defense but I think we can outscore them.

I'm rooting against Indiana so that Curt has more free time to talk to CDC and we are more likely to get a new coach sooner.

That's some 2008 thinking right there.

Why don’t you just root for your undefeated Alma mater.

Was that meant for me? If so, I bleed orange and have a degree from The University of Texas. I just don’t vomit nonsense over this board every time I have a thought.

If it wasn’t meant for me, carry on.

Ole Miss, Indiana, G5/ACC Cinderella as long as it's not Miami, whoever plays OU/A&M

Imagine being a college football fan and not watching the Playoff, y'all trying to say you'll watch baseball reruns instead are just being performative.

I Dont Morgan Freeman GIF

Whoever is playing A&M, OU (if they make it), and the other qualifying SEC teams. Fuck 'em all.

I'm for chaos that results in an expanded FCS-type playoff. January madness

I'd enjoy tech beating the shit out of aggy while the broadcast showed some Mike Leach quotes mocking their military cosplay.

Then tech losing by 80 in their next game.

As for ou I'd enjoy the entire ou team and campus being picked up by the first ever EF9 tornado with 400 mph winds and getting deposited somewhere, somehow, in the Van Allen belt never to be heard from again.
