Fair enough but I was talking about American domestic terrorism.

Plus, part of me wishes he had actually been able to buy the Bills, for we all know just how disastrous that would have been for the franchise, and the NFL as well:

They would have lost five consecutive Super Bowls?

Not by me he's not.  Any Carol Burnett Show skit with both Tim and Harvey in it had a chance to make you laugh so hard you pissed your pants.

Fans of the Bills would have looked back lustfully at the era of losing 4 straight.

In other words, whatever you think of Jerry Jones as an owner who meddles with his team, multiply that by 50, nay, 100.  That is what Trump would have done to the Bills.

And I couldn't give a shit about the Bills, or for the most part the NFL.  I'm a casual fan of it (strongly prefer college) but knowing what we know about Trump, well, you get the idea.

Truth. I watched High Anxiety again the other day. He and Cloris Leachman were so perfect together in that movie.

They'd gone belly up(yo, Ted Cruz) and now be playing in the CFL.

That whole cast is amazing. Vicky Lawrence was cast straight out of high school and Carol Burnett and Harvey Korman basically took her under their wing, but it took her several years to feel comfortable enough to assert herself... which she did all at once, when Tim Conway wouldn’t let this scene end:

Dick Van Dyke is still performing occasionally, but he died in 1974.

He got Nichols spared from the death penalty .  I think he also taught at UT law.  He was probably a bad ass.  I never met him.

1) that is 100% one of the great comic moments in human history.  I have seen it 100 times, and laugh every time.

2) have you seen Dick dancing, like, TODAY?  Mofo can still MOVE better than I ever could in my whole life.

I handed out so much rep I think I have no more, but thank you for the derail with Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, et al. Just what I needed.

Top skit for me is probably the elephant one, but the Nazi interrogation skit with Korman, Conway, and Lyle Waggoner and the skit with Tim Conway as the soldier who swallowed a grenade are up there too.

Absolutely some gems and they are a wonderful escape from grim moments.

You know, one of the frustrating things in life is knowing that there are people out there like this.  So no matter how hard I ever try to be cool, no matter how much effort I put in.....he'll still be 100X cooler than me, even when he wakes up and takes his morning crap.  I'm sure he does even THAT cooler than anything I've ever done in my life.  Fucker.

Geritol, icy hot, and sex?

Was never really a fan but DVD is one talented mofo, and add the Dentist skit with Korman/Conway up there in the echelon of great tv/comedy moments.

No, the Archdiocese made the change. So Ingraham, like a true moron, is contradicting herself, arguing that politicians should override the church's decision.

That's on top of it being politicians from another country. She's arguing for the United States Federal government to get involved in church business internationally and not allow the church to make its own decisions. It's essentially the most horrific argument one could make against religious freedom. But she won't care.

Even at the time, it was clear to me that while this show was setting Archie Bunker up for ridicule with one segment of the people, a very large segment was also embracing him. So many dads in my upper middle class neighborhood had posters of Archie Bunker over their wetbars. They'd deny the racism (unconvincingly) and embrace Bunker's disposition towards just about anything else.

I never liked the show. I didn't like the other Norman Lear stuff either, but this show bothered me. I never liked the format either.

He was unrepentant, that still appeals to a lot of people. Even if one has a 'safe space' there is more discomfort in society if one is out front with it, what with cameras and consequences and all.

The deed (of noble thoughts or actions) and not the glory is no longer a concept for which we seem capable of striving. Doris Miller was a real life hero and someone to emulate, Archie Bunker not so much.

Funny thing was Carroll O'Conner was a liberal Democrat in real life.

If he were that cool, he and Laura Petrie wouldn't have had separate beds.

Yep, the jihadists are right-wing. Al Qaeda is right-wing and 9/11 was a right-wing terrorist attack. Theocracy is right-wing.

Most Republican voters don't know right from left and believe Trump when he falsely claims that "far-left fascism" is a thing. These are the same people who think the Nazis were left-wing because "Socialist" appears in the party name (and because they listened to Fox News comparing Obama to Hitler for eight years).

He was so cool, Laura couldn't handle being in the same bed with him.  She'd have never gotten any sleep.

I've seen that on message boards along with the "Democrats are the slavery Party." Do people that post that kind of thought truly believe it in earnest? I assumed (perhaps mistakenly) that they were being deliberately contrarian/trollish.

He was a stud. Heck, when he was part of the trio in Ben Stiller's Night at the Museum, those old dudes were hilarious and it made me wonder if Stiller, Owen Wilson, Robin Williams, et al had more fun making that movie than getting the paycheck for it.
