Agreed. Everyone’s going to a bowl anyhow.

Unless there’s a CCG upset, it’s going to be Bama-ND-Clemson-Ohio State. Quit wasting time with cancellations.

At this point all BIG-10 games impact the ccg and indirectly the playoffs.

To be in the BIG-10 CCG, you have to play at least 6 games, UNLESS the conference average for games played is under 6, then you can be in 2 games less than the average.

In order to reach that average of 6 conference games, the BIG-10 needs to play 6 of the final 14 games scheduled these next two weeks.

If  tOSU has either of their last two games canceled (likely), they badly need lots of conference games canceled.

Oh man, the SEC is so pissed they didn't think of it first.

Well, with ND playing in the ACC this year, at the very least ACC+ND=SECX3.
SECX3 has never been about top to bottom quality. It’s been about Bama and whatever flavor of the year is second fiddle, whether it’s Gata, or LSU, or UGA, or once every 5-10 years, AU. The rest is a mishmash of mediocre and dog vomit teams, just like every other conference. But every year, we have to endure the speculation that the four team invitational might be comprised entirely of SECX3.
Now that ACC+ND is official (for this year), SECX3 is seeing the same block in the four team invitational that the rest of us have seen for a long time.
If tOSU gets left out because of lack of games, and it’s an invitational consisting of only SECX3 and ACC+ND, do we finally get over the hump and expand to a true playoff?  Maybe?

I think the B1G could get creative and play the last 2 weeks as exhibition/scrimmages and name OSU and NW as the champions and then have them play in the CCG.
They will fluff it up and say it is a way to not penalize teams with Covid issues, and to not put pressure on teams to play when they shouldn't

BYU (-10) @ Coastal Carolina 12/5 4:30 CT on ESPNU

Love it.  Would love to see more of this shit from small schools/leagues every year.  Fuck it- you want in the playoffs do something like this every year in the last 2 or 3 weeks before the selection shows.  Like the bracket buster events that they started doing in college hoops- but 2 or 3 weeks of it.
I'd be a lot more likely to stan for Cincy in a title game if they went and beat BYU and then Boise State after they were through with their conference games.  Just schedule all those type of schools backwards- warm up game- 9 conference games- 2 empty dates at the end of the season where you get matched up with someone in other conferences doing the same type of thing.

obviously not Texas this year, but all I can think of is a situation where a uber-fan, never-miss-a-game fan, like Scott Wilson, is going to have their 30,40,50 year attended all games streak end......  Hell Wilson is at 43 years straight for Football right now.

think wedding crashers but for football fans.  Hell, there were people buying the drink vendor's badge and apron for like $250 to get into the RB the year we won.  if someone really wants to get in the stadium, they could probably pull it off

It's amazing how some schools have dodged the virus cancellations most of the year and others can't seem to get a game played.

Some used the standard of outbreaks on the team.  OThers used the 'proximity principle' to mean one + test knocks out the entire team.

Waited til Saturday for this week's update. Probably will still need an edit, but...

I wonder how the players feel about this season.  Are they glad it was played?

I know it's been messy and weird but it's not been overall more dangerous due to Covid than a regular football season it seems so far.

There were a lot of predictions that it might be.

BYU/Coastal was a pretty entertaining game.  It never would've happened in a regular year.  It doesn't really make up for all the crud of this football season but I can't say I would rather have had no football either.
