That’s probably a good thing.

the James comey shit really killed Hilary at the end. Well that and it helped trump also win the “ voters who hate both” category too.

biden is currently winning the voters who hate both category tho.

Hillary being Hillary is what killed her at the end, that along with Manafort and the russians.

Its probably not fair, but Hillary was severely disliked by a large part of the populace, which is why she was probably the only person on the planet who could lose to trump. Again not saying its fair or warranted, but it is what it is. Or was what it was.

Biden will win. One of the simply reasons for that is he is not Hillary Clinton.

I understand everyone is freaked out about it right now. And for good reason. But the only thing that is in doubt is how large Biden will win by and given that factor, how hard will Trump try to steal it anyway, especially if its close.

That was a point Jeff Roe made. I think he’s pretty smart. Anyone who can get Ted Cruz to the final 4 has to be pretty smart.
but he said that this is the point of negative campaigns and trump can still shift some voters his way in the “dislike both” category.
I mean, I don’t think Trump has any real chance, but if he does that’s probably the roadmap.

Another thing people often forget is that Wisconsin hated Trump so much in the early 2016 republican primary that they actually picked ted Cruz over Donald trump.

if Ted Cruz can beat Trump in Wisconsin, Biden should be able to as well.

Well that new NBC poll in FL and the Latino vote isn't good news for Biden.

Kamala is heading there on Thursday, I believe.  Not sure it's something to freak out about, but they definitely need a game plan for that.

Biden is doing better with old, white voters than Hillary. And the olds fuckin vote

You could argue that WI and MN splitting fron thev rest of the midwest are due to the events in Kenosha - WI voters gravitating towards Biden after seeing both of their responses, MN voters, located next door, reminded of how poorly Trump handled things when Minneapolis was the epicenter.

I have no idea if thats the case but at least there's a thread there. TX, NC, and AZ moving together makes sense. FL gonna FL. Did anyone ever buy a comfortable Biden lead there?

Without PA Trump has to get all AZ, WI, AND a long shot state (like MI, MN, or NH).  At this point Trump’s focus shouldn’t be on getting to 270 but rather setting up to dispute/prevent Biden from getting to 270.  Pure defense.

That there’s zero question in anyone’s mind who will win the popular vote, and the path to victory for Trump is so narrow, but yet people still know this is a “close” election is very damning of our process.

Yeah. Trump won the democratic states and the dipshit (read SEC states). The few states that can go GOP in a general and aren’t total shit holes/morons didn’t go for trump.

Wisconsin is basically the pinnacle of a red state on my mind. Texas bc of size and economy is premier but Wisconsin is probably the crown jewel otherwise, of states trump won last time around. Either that or North Carolina. It’s not a long roll call though, of states you’d want to live in that went Trump. In fact, depending upon how you feel about Florida that might be the entirety of the list.

I’m mean I said depending upon how you feel about Florida. I feel like there’s probably places there I could live on the water in the panhandle, or parts of Miami I’d be happy living in. All that said- I’m not pretty enough to love in Miami, so I guess that’s out.
But yeah, nice coast and decent sized economy could certainly make it worth living in. My wife is all in. I’m not a fan.
I guess I forgot Tennessee. That’s probably, along with North Carolina, a place where most here could find somewhere to live.

Trump’s “Keep America Great” rallies scheduled for this weekend in Nevada have been canceled, according to the co-chairman of the president’s campaign in the state.

Trump was scheduled to rally supporters in Reno on Saturday and Las Vegas on Sunday.

“Outrageous! @realDonaldTrump rally venues in NV canceled,” former Nevada attorney general Adam Laxalt, co-chairman of the Trump campaign in Nevada, said in a tweet Wednesday afternoon. “Welcome to Sisolak’s Nevada — home of partisan political retribution. This is unprecedented — to cancel an incumbent President’s campaign stop inside 60 days of a major contested election in a swing state. This isn’t over!”

I mean it's technically 'in play" but he needs to be a lot more worried about holding on to the states he won last time.

Trump is running his own campaign the way he wants to because he won it doing his thing last time. He isn't listening to anyone.

Worth noting that the CNBC/Change polls have been consistently weaker for Biden than others for pretty much the entire election cycle. This batch shows either small upticks or no change in Biden's leads compared to their pre-RNC polls released on 8/26. In other words, absolutely no bounce whatsoever for Trump.

AZ: +2-->+4

WI: +5-->+6

PA: +3-->+4

NC: +1-->+2

FL & MI: No Change (+3 and +6).

But then you see polls like this which you know is BS

Meh, it might be a little off, but it's not egregious. Last 3 elections in CO:

2016: Clinton 48.2%, Trump 43.3%, Johnson 5.1%

2012: Obama 51.5%, Romney 46.1%

2008: Obama 53.7%, McCain 44.7%.

I'd imagine this year we'll see a result in Colorado that's closer to 2008 than 2016.

Meanwhile the USC poll that has a reliable reputation is holding steady at double digits

This poll has a weird methodology where the double digit lead isn’t as significant as the two point movement to Biden.  This poll draws its random sample from the same limited pool of people.

It’s not measuring general public opinion as much as it’s measuring people changing their minds.  It is the directional movement that matters in this one, not the overall spread.

“Build the Wall!”

“Lock her up!”

”Ban all Muslims”

A thing that gets overlooked by nearly everyone, including the Democratic Party (at their peril), is 2016 Trump ran on some big ideas.  They were horrible and stupid ideas but simple enough to appeal to a significant section of the electorate. Enough to win the nomination and the presidency.

 It’s why watching this election play out is so painful for me.  I want to grab the Democratic leadership and shake the shit out of them saying, “Please for the love of god come up with something better than ‘Build back better’ and a bunch of convoluted policy gestures.  It doesn’t even have to be a popular progressive idea.  FFS just say you’re going to legalize marijuana or pimp a public option for healthcare.  SOMETHING BIG that motivates more voters to vote FOR YOU!”

I’m terrified of a Trump second term but I’m equally terrified of what might come after Trump simply because the democrats are so weak on ideas.

And there's this.

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/09/09/biden-outraised-trump-150-million-410832

Quote

Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee raised $210 million in August, falling $154 million short of Joe Biden’s haul over the same period.

Biden and the Democratic National Committee previously announced raising a stunning $365 million last month, a record-shattering total that Trump failed to match. Neither campaign has yet released their cash-on-hand totals, but last month’s fundraising disparity increases Biden’s chances of closing Trump’s once-formidable cash advantage.

I fucking loathe most elected Democrats.  But if y'all would just repeat this simple mantra, "FIX THIS SHIT, FIX THIS SHIT, FIX THIS SHIT!"...I will not only vote for you and round up everybody I know to vote for Biden this cycle.  But I'll max out every possible contribute I can across the board.  You don't need any ideas, you need to be bag-men, janitors, fixers.  Dumber versions of Michael Clayton.  That's it, that's all.  That's the very best most of us are looking for right now.  You guys figure out your own internal progressive v. moderate, socialist v. populist bullshit next time around.  For now, Fix This Shit.....you have no idea what a sexy slogan that is to most of us.

Trump wants to go to Nevada to visit casinos that make money.

Trump (privately touring the Nevada casinos)..."Oh, so you guys skim after the real estate is complete, equity hurdle is met, and casino is cash flow positive?  Right, right.  Got it.  See, we were doing the grift the opposite way in Jersey, explains a lot.  Right, right.  Thanks for the tour, we're gonna go meet Carmine.  Listen, lots of luck with the joint, we'll see you later."

What's he doing spending two days in Nevada this close to the election? Please tell me flipping Nevada is part of their plan.
Nevada is underpolled and with the service/hospitality workforce in Vegas decimated the organizing power of labor, which has been the driver of flipping the state, could be significantly diminished.

It's a better play than some of the other stupid ass pipe dream flips people mention like NM or MN.

Hillary won Nevada and 2018 was a blowout, IDK what their plan could be
