Trump was a draft dodger. Why is the coward on a tank?

Well, see....he’s a two-bit lying propagandizing cocksucker. Once you realize that, everything that’s happened the last 18 months makes a lot more sense.

Marching would cause his bone spurs to flare up.

He was a draft dodger and hasn't separated from his business interests.  He's sacrificed exactly nothing.  They love playing the victim card.

Civil War 2 Battle of San Jacinto is rained out.  Will be rescheduled at a later date.

Bullshit.  Trump had his own personal Vietnam slaying hairy clap infested 70s pussy and worn out post porn star HPV infested pussy in the 00s.... often bareback.  He is a fearless brave warrior.  Many are saying the bravest of all time.

They spent plenty of money on that movie, and tried to make it somewhat authentic, but apparently nobody had a ruler lying around.

Yay someone got my Enjoli reference!

And, no joke, that jingle is something I still sing in my head when I’m feeling particularly feminist.

I’m sure some 20-something gal has written her thesis on why that commercial is now considered problematic but as a little girl that song made me feel like a superhero.

I like the wrestling champion belt buckle. Fake fighting championship.

This appeals to a substantial part of our electorate. He's the Defender of the Faithful, Fearless Leader, and Protector of Our Purity of Essence.

Men and women with hands calloused or rough from work look up to this lanolin-softened snowflake as their guy. He's risking his life for the sins of a once great country that he only seeks to make great again. Where did the imagined common sense and values of this part of the electorate go?

Oh yea, they bought into hate, ignorance, and mendacity. Thanks, GOP and radio accomplices!

It's the college educated supporters of Trump who should be the most ashamed. They are the ones who should be shunned by their social peers.

You mean like the dozens of idiots backing Trump on this website?  Yeah, I agree.  I guess a decent SAT score doesn't necessarily correlate to common sense or decency.

I agree about the shame. Still, you figure a guy who works and struggles for a living with no higher education or history of intellectual pursuit would be the first to dismiss a stuffed shirt rich boy like Trump.

Then I look at the context of competing candidates and realize that none of them likely appeal to the sensibilities I'm describing either. Writing this, I recall what I thought of Trump's strength as a campaigner: he actually talks to his audience. He doesn't assume a fake cadence like the robo-candidates (Hillary's greatest weakness as a campaigner), he speaks in I gotta tell yas and you won't believes.

And he played a stern boss on a TV gameshow.

Maybe I overvalued the common sense of the working person. There as stupid as everybody else. SAD!

Lol.  I’m a very stable genius. Believe me.

Just back from our nice small town parade/festival/slice of Americana.  It was great to see so many of my neighbors enjoying themselves, proud to be Americans, and celebrating our great country.  We are truly fortunate to have won the lottery and been born in this time in the USA.  Time to hit the pool with kids and grill.

With that I’ll say Happy 4th of July to everybody, even the losers and haters that would rather our country experience hard times, than have it and our President succeed.

Many people in this country are experiencing hard times precisely because Donald Trump is president.

Go fuck yourself.

Yeah, after eight years of Obama it's hard to take anyone on the right seriously when they proclaim dismay at anyone not wanting the president to succeed.

Serious pearl clutching.

Worthless trumpkin opens his mouth and spews bullshit. Shocking. Your president will be removed from office with your party’s and your shame on display for all to see. Can’t wait.

"Ok so Trump has given control over America to Putin, and now bows to him in Putin's oval office like the president to Zod in Superman 2... but man you liberals sure are losers and haters that want our new President Putin to fail! Sad."

Oh I understand the end game, better than most here.

China is not ready to assume the mantle and it fits both their political model and their temperament to wait us out.  Wait for our debt and political instability to create the real opening, all while milking the current trade arrangements and continuing to steal intellectual property from our corporations for years til it’s time.

Trump’s actions and threats are pressing the issue before China is ready.   Their economy is more fragile than meets the eye.  Their leverage makes our look modest.  They magically hit 7% GDP every quarter. They need things to keep chugging along without major hiccups for a while.  Trump is challenging that.  Thus, they would like him out.  It will hurt segments of our economy, but at least Trump sees the threat.  It’s wayyy the fuck bigger than Russia or Putin that the numbnuts here get all worked up about.

But maybe you’re right.  Maybe I have no idea what I’m talking about.

Sure. And similarly, Putin was scared of Hillary Clinton by your logic.

What you have to realize is, he was lying.

I can't think of any commodity or manufactured good which has as much of an effect on Americans as the price of oil.  Too low, the oil patch is fucked.  Too high, everyone else feels a headwind.  I wouldn't say there is no sweet spot, but if there is, we're probably close to it, and prices could inch higher without really hurting most Americans.

Of course, Donald zigs when he should zag.

Yeah. But they’ll blame it on Obama.

I know it's a tired cliche at this point, but if Obama had said anything other than "Happy 4th of July!" today, "the right" would have lost their minds.

I thought that was the whole reason that Putin wanted Trump?  Clinton seemed to want to take a hard line on Syria and thus Russia.

I didn’t want aspects of Obama’s agenda to succeed, but I didn’t root against the US as a whole.  Like people like Bill Maher wanting a recession or other terrible people I work with who cheer when market tanks a couple percent in a day because they hope it reflects poorly on Trump.  These people root against America.  Shameful.

It's not rooting against America.

It's hoping for some sort of event to wake up the morons.

Big difference.

So you’d like for millions of people to lose their jobs in a recession?  To give them a wake up call?  Some patriot you are.

I never once claimed to be a patriot.

I'm not rooting for shit.

But keep waving that flag... Only thing it's gonna do is make your arms tired

Oh, for crying out loud.  No significant fraction of the left is rooting against America.  People are screaming to the mountaintops that Donald Trump is a moron and a traitor who is doing everything he can, willingly or not, to assfuck America to destruction.

Stop with the mischaracterization.  We are rooting FOR America.  Support of Trump is tacitly doing the opposite.  That's on you, and you will pay, one way or another.
