Yeah, I agree with all that in principle, but fuck all connections at PHX, and most of them at CLT.

Hartsfield says hi. Hate that fucking place

Flying out of LAX tomorrow. Wife and I are flying SWA to Vegas, daughter is on AA to London. We’ve flown in and out of there before. It’s big and a bit of a pain, so we just allow time.

aight

Having a pleasant cup of coffee 1:50 before our flight departs. Walked in, did bag drop in 5 mins (have a checked bag because we schlepped a bunch of bbq to our family trip), nobody in TSA line…from getting off the rental shuttle to having. A cup of coffee, maybe 20 mins? Super easy.
Of course, the girl is flying international out of terminal 4…and is already at HER gate. About as easy an airport experience as you can have.

I fly into and out of ATL Hartsfield 2 to 3 times a month as a connector from SHV. For me, of all of the multiple airports, domestic and international, I find it to be the easiest to navigate.

I can't stand ATL because it's one long row and if you are at T and need to get to A or whatever, it takes forever. The only worse set up for me in that regard is CVG which makes you walk 2 miles before taking a train, all in the same direction.

CVG is indeed a mind-boggling design.

All-Star games at the pro level.

Name your all-pros and let them earn their bonuses.  Give them and their families a nice trip.  Don't play a fucking game though.

Awards show at end of season is cool too.  Don't play a mixed roster fucking game though. It ain't remotely the same.

Before baseball had interleague play, it was cool. Now, it's pointless.

The fact that "streamers" are wildly popular multi-millionaire celebs.  Had no idea who this dude was, till he showed up at the MLS all-star game and everyone under the age of 20 was taking pics of him:

I get it. I mean, also don’t get it.

I remember the first time I heard someone’s tweet quoted as “news”. I remember thinking oh, wow, someone said something, who gives a flying fuck. Why the fuck is this news?

I also remember thinking that I was probably in for a whole lot of not getting whatever was going on from that point forward. A lot of things these days make me think of this quote:

“You always own the option of having no opinion. There is never any need to get worked up or to trouble your soul about things you can’t control. These things are not asking to be judged by you. Leave them alone.” — Marcus Aurelius

Totally agree with this. I think I'm more confused as to how they became famous than why they're famous right now. This guy and another guy Kai Cenat. They started off their streaming careers just reacting to videos he saw online. Simple as that. Didn't star in a movie, didn't sing any song, didn't get really good at a video game, he just posted his reaction to other people's content and became a celebrity.

Other streamers had to be really good at something like Ninja, Dr Disrespect, shroud, etc.

Clicks seem to be the new “currency” of Generation Z.

It’s not just gen Z. It’s everywhere. The ability to get people to tune in to you moves the needle for everything now.

Apparently there are AI generated influencers now. They aren't even real. The AI likeness is pictured at some event and get a bunch of follows and likes and the sponsors start rolling in.

I don't know about the other ones, but the MLB ASG proceeds all go to the players' union pension fund.  Back when they started it, it was the sole source of funding.

But you're not wrong, and some of the other leagues are starting to agree.  The NHL clearly found the magic alternative with the 4 Nations tournament.

I don't get the recent obsession with trying to force sports into places designed for other sports. Like bowl games in baseball stadiums and this baseball field inside a NASCAR track. The views look terrible and I don't get the appeal, like at all. "Cool, it's a race track, but with baseball." The only version of this that makes sense is NHL in baseball and football stadiums becasue it seems cool to play a cold weather sport outside...in cold weather. This is just stupid imo.

It’s “turnt up” and that is all you need to know and accept.

I was in the north end behind the goal.  Kids were going nuts about this guy the whole time - much more so than for the soccer players.  There was even a middle school aged pitch invader that ran out there looking for the Speed fella.

I know they couldn't do it for liability reasons, but would be cool if the NFL All-Stars did a Superstars-type competition. Running, some field events, cycling, swimming, kayak, add in home run derby, long drive, 3-point shootout, etc. End it with the old obstacle course with rope, wall, blocking sled, hurdles.

Get Renaldo Nehemiah out of retirement to whip all their asses.
