When people say, "What do you mean by that?", when I say, "rent free", I'm just gonna send them a screen-grab of this^^
My favorite part was "leaving OUR conference AGAIN"

I dont recall ever being in MWC or Big Least, and technically this will be our first time leaving any conference...but I drank a lot back in the day.

Daniels, Bethley, Coleman, and their safety, Carter. I’m pretty sure they all missed SMU game and are supposedly gonna be back

Carter has played in every game, he just got moved to corner (where he played for Memphis) vs SMU because one of their corners (Ceasar) got killed vs Cal. TCU then had two safeties (Clark and McCuin) go down at some point vs SMU, so they had to move Carter back to safety and reinsert Ceasar, who then gave up several passes

It's unclear if McCuin and/or Clark will be back for Texas, but it seems that CB Daniels is back, which allows TCU to play Carter at safety

Daniels has supposedly been practicing for weeks, and it's a mystery why he hasn't been playing

Their DE Khari Coleman, who won Big XII freshman defensive player of the year in 2020, might be coming back, but as of last week he hadn't practiced since before their first game, so he might not be in the best game shape

So we will win by 35 points.

UT left the dying/dead SWC to be part of the then-new B12. Frogs got left behind. UT now going to SECX3, leaving Frogs behind.
Should be noted that Frogs have consistently left conferences when presented with a better option, and would do it again tomorrow if they get a P12 or similar offer.

Not disagreeing with you, but did the SWC really merge with the B8, or did the B12 members leave both the SWC and B8 behind to form the new B12?  My understanding has always been the latter, but I may be mistaken.

Wow - there are some strange rankings. Iowa St. at 15 and Iowa at 28. Clemson at 7 and Wiscy at 11? Aggy at 12 with the 52nd ranked offense? They need to phase out the preseason rankings much faster.

You would be right.   There was no merger (despite the BS Nebraska used to claim).  8 teams and 4 teams left their conference and formed a new one.  It is why when you go to Big 12 record books, everything starts in 1996.

Thanks. That was the right move at the time, except for bringing Baylor. Because F Baylor.

Better chance that Texas loses this weekend than against OU.  Destroyed Tech last Saturday while seeing an inept TCU get bulldozed by SMU, plus have the RRS as a lookahead.

Really tough and challenging coaching job this weekend for Sarkisian.   Very interested to see how the team plays / responds.

The Aggy rating is curious. You would think offense would be given markedly greater weight in a “predictive” metric since it tends to be stickier than defense.

I'm willing to bet that after going on road and getting ass whacked that getting the team ready for a team that has beaten them multiple times over the past several years won't be an issue.

But for Patterson, beating SMU is an expectation. @ztejas and I have stated on here in the past that the Iron Skillet game is a win-win for SMU and no win situation for TCU. If SMU loses they don't care(at least not very much back in the day) since TCU is usually favored. However, if SMU wins, TCU throws a fit and the boosters lose their shit.

Also, we better stay focused on squashing the cockroaches and not look ahead to Oklahoma.

This has changed a bit now that we don't suck anymore but for awhile that was the case - with younger SMU fans at least.

If pat actually does look ahead to Texas instead of taking SMU seriously then it might wind up costing him his job.

But - I don't believe that. Just look at the hissy fit he's throwing right now in the media. At the time the game has been played the past 2 times SMU has just been the better team.

Again - Patterson can keep looking past SMU if he wants but it won't align him with their fanbase.  Also - again - I don't buy it because they didn't seem to have a problem beating our fucking ass from 2012-2018.

TCU HATES losing to SMU. More than losing to Texas. They probably enjoy beating Texas more but losing to Texas is at least somewhat acceptable.

So does this upcoming deluge in Fort Worth favor more, us or TCU?

Both teams have good RBs, though we have more of them. Probably takes away from our long balls, which Duggan blows at. Increased randomness by-and-large favors the underdog. I'd say it favors TCU, but not really by much.

Rain also probably depresses turnout for what is not usually a very raucous home crowd.  I haven't been to one of our games at AGC, but I've been to a couple of other Big 12 games there, and there were a lot of empty seats even for perfect weather and when TCU teams were still in good shape for the season.  Their students enjoy the tailgates much more so than the games, and don't always make it from the former to the latter.

lol not true at all.  He used his phone during a high school game, whoop de doo. Still had offers from every major program and was the #1 recruit in the nation at one point. Every school would have taken him and he choose TCU over them.  Well every other school besides UT perhaps because y'all already had Bijan but nobody at TCU would trade Evans for Bijan, I'm sure y'all feel the same. Evans is the best RB in the nation from the view of Frog Fans. He has been an exemplary young man since arriving on Campus, above and beyond what anyone could have asked or hoped for.

I'm not sure if you're just trolling or not, but Evans was going to UGA until they said nah. He was damn near begging during the all-star game for people to give him another chance, and basically everyone said nah. He went past signing day trying to figure out his options, and eventually just settled on TCU.

Man it's ok. You can admit that you took a huge character risk that every bluechip passed on. If he doesn't fuck around for all 3 years it's actually pretty good and impressive. He's still extremely talented, it doesn't take anything away from that.

Surprised y'all couldn't do anything with Marcel Brooks - rapist or not, dude is a fucking athlete.
