Channeling my inner Burton - "Interesting."

I don't like playing this game either.  I'd probably be inclined to say Manning though, choosing to ignore the clunkers earlier in the season.

Good receivers make their QB's look better though.  Sayin looks a lot better with both Smith and Tate on the field.  Evans made Manziel, etc.

I don't know about the off-field stuff (all just rumors at this point) since he got to Texas, but his hiring and playcalling decisions are bad and the off-field decisions before landing at Bama were publicized and suboptimal. You can't get away with shenanigans unless you're winning nattys.

I’m NOT saying he’s a bad guy, I’m just saying I don’t have enough info to say he is or ain’t.

He’s certainly guilty of his share of bad choices (so am I tho, so…)

This isn't a meltdown, it's people started asking wtf is up with this team and when the digging started there was immediately some things uncovered.

The meltdown was short lived to the middle of Sunday.

We must have very high meltdown standards around here, because this sure looks like a meltdown.

@immamacneeds to buy a Luby’s franchise but add a bar and bus in olds on Horseshoe Bay and we can ride our Temu speedboats to the dock. This is what happens. Olds all over the Austin area will sign up in their assisted living homes to go to a Luby’s on the lake with booze. Profit. We watch smoke come from the tower when we pick a new HC.

Aggie has the record we should have had with our Team if Sark wasn’t phoning it in. Harsh I know but Elko is riding the wave of a fairly easy schedule but he’s also NOT losing games. We had a much more difficult schedule no question. But we screwed the pooch. They have the record we should have. If they beat us then we have swapped places and that might be enough to wake up the real BMD dragons who have been oddly silent as this all unfolds.

Will this get embarrassing is the question people need to ask themselves… 😢 🤘🏼

I remember Surly telling me that Elko was recruiting nothing but three stars and that they would suck this year.

We on the other hand lost to one of the worst conference teams on our schedule and have not played a full four quarters of a game in over two years.

Sark was clearly asleep at the switch as it relates to this year’s roster and being out coached is becoming a trend.  Everyone can choose to not believe that there is smoke around his personal life but I’ve heard it as well going back to last year.  I don’t know if any of it is true because I haven’t seen it. But, I do know that people who have a connection to the university either by substantial donation status or it is where they get their paycheck are saying it. If it’s not true, or not based upon some kernel of truth, why are they saying it?  I always ask myself when I hear a leak of something what is the motivation for the leak?  Here, I don’t have an answer for it.  Maybe it’s just our own brand of dysfunction. But, even when his neighbors are saying things about what they observed, I wonder if he’s not distracted.

Putting all that aside, I know what I have seen with my own eyes. Inconsistent and undisciplined play. Poor preparation and lack of adjustments in game. A terrible OL this year which is choking the life out of the season. Not having a run game which has put a ton more pressure on a young but talented QB to be a hero at all times.

I’m not one of those people who think he ought to go undefeated every year. But, I do think with his resources he should win the games he is supposed to and be competitive in the rest.  Our staff did not have our team ready to play coming off of both bye weeks this year. That’s inexcusable. They were embarrassed by the Georgia staff on Saturday.  Even with our OL issues, the talent disparity was not that great against Georgia. We played like shit. Our game plan was shit. Our play calling was shit as well as our decision to allow them to pick us apart with soft defensive coverage.  I don’t know if it is true, but ESPN reported the day before the game that Sark had only practiced two days last week and that he had given the team a lot of time off. A good portion of our defense was at the basketball game on Wednesday night. Maybe they deserved a break, or maybe they could have been looking at film. Who knows?  They sure didn’t play like a team that had time to kill.

I fully believe that we should beat A&M.  But, I don’t think deep down that we will because I have no faith that this staff will put our team in a position to win. I also have no faith that our head coach can focus up and see things as they are instead of how he may want them to be.

Honestly, when was the last game where you felt like we came out and played a full four quarters where we looked good from start to finish against an opponent with a pulse?  For myself, I can’t remember. Maybe some of yours is better than mine.

Yall are fucking nuts!

This team has lost to Ohio State and Georgia which are 2 legitimate top 6/7 teams in the country. The team also has a terrible loss to a Florida team who managed to put some talented players on the field who had been previously hurt against Texas.

Now people are talking about losing to Arkansas at home? This team isn’t losing to that pile of shit in Austin. It may be closer than we want but they aren’t losing on Saturday.

I still think the A&M game is a coin flip as they haven’t really been that impressive this year.

This season has clearly not been what we want. I’m hoping for a strong finish and they go out and fix the OL in the portal which will make every unit on this team better.

I agree with all of this.  I didn't expect us to win the national championship this year, but I expected us to be competitive.  We have looked like dogshit in at least 1 phase of the game if not 2-3 in every game this year.  This is year 5.  These are Sark's hand chosen players.  These are his coaches, his schemes, his roster.  There are no excuses for being young in today's portal era.  The reason we are young, was because "the staff loves this roster".  Really?  They love these players?  UGA and Ohio State lose more than we did to the draft and turnover yet they are both top 5 and beat us decisively with neither game ever being in doubt.  I know we lost by 7 to tOSU but that was a 14-0 game most of the game and they simply burned clock until our 4th down score late in the 4th.  Why is it that those staffs can manage turnover and have disciplined teams yet we look like shit.  We were ranked 100+ in penalties last year, and we are 2nd to last this year.  This is a COACHING problem!  We are undisciplined and soft, yet this is top 3 roster from a budget and NIL stand point.  I'm not sure how Sark is going to really fix this without cleaning house because we return the bulk of the same undisciplined and soft players next year.  Oh btw, don't look at 2027 recruiting.... aggy is about to kick our ass and take the cream of the crop.  I bet that is going to sit really well with the donors considering the money they have invested while watching this drunk coast through the year and coast through recruiting.  Dude couldn't show up to the most important junior day this year.  Shit I'm sick half the year and I make it to work, let alone on one of the most important recruiting days for your program.  It's clear he has personal life issues, it's clear he neglected his job, and it's clear he's looking for an exit.  I think these reports are definitely not from Sark's side.  This is someone that is trying to create a rift and force his exit sooner than later.  Who and why? I have no idea.  CDC and the board better not get caught with their pants down with signing day approaching and portal window opening.  With that said, who is hiring this dude?  I wouldn't even hire him as a OC in the NFL or even college considering he struggles to put up 7 points against good defenses.  Unless we fire him for cause, not sure we can get rid of him even as I'm not sure who would invest in him with all his issues.

they got blown the fuck out by Georgia and were hardly competitive with Florida. No one cares about the Ohio State loss even if you replace it with a rice win or some other bullshit win. They played like such dogshit against SJSU that they wouldn't have stayed #1 and probably would have dropped to at least 2, maybe even 3 or 4 based on the rest of their dogshit ooc schedule that they didn't take care of business for. So they would likely have been similarly ranked when they LOST TO UNRANKED DOGSHIT Florida BY TWO FUCKING SCORES (one technically, because 2 pt conversion, but fuck off it was a 2 score game). They would have dropped out of the polls either way. Manning looked like ass. The second half of OU was magical, but it doesn't make up for sucking shit through a straw in Kentucky and Mississippi state, then coming home and whipping a fraudulent vandy team, then turning around and getting blown the fuck out by Georgia in a more than 3 score assfucking.

other 2 loss teams (don't count ohio state loss and count it as a whatever win)

Notre Dame - Losses to Miami (lol) and a robbery loss to TAMU on the last play of a game - a must if they win out

Oklahoma - Losses to Texas, ugly but rivalry, and down to the wire Ole Miss a real contender one loss team - a real contender

Alabama - Losses to FSU, WTF early season loss, and down to the wire w/ Oklahoma - a real contender

Miami - Two wtf losses to louisville and SMU - certified ACC dogshit.

Vandy - Losses to Texas and Alabama - a pretender trying to be a contender.

USC - Losses to a decent Illinois and Notre Dame - A wildcard deserving a spot if they win out

MICH - losses to Oklahoma (not good, but freshman qb first big away game), a contender and USC a good team - a wildcard earning a spot if they win out

Texas - Losses to absolute dogshit florida by 2 scores and a complete fucking blowout by georgia a real contender -

Theres 8 no or 1 loss teams. So out of the above you can pick a maximum of 4 teams. ND and Alabama are for sure in barring chaos. that's 2 teams left out of that group. Oklahoma wins out and they are in, you can't take that away from them. so 1 team left. Out of every other team available there with everyone winning out you choose Texas over a USC or Michigan that knock off Oregon or Ohio State? - now lets say that none of that does happen, then sure Texas looks like it has the furthest outside shot left, except OH MY GOD WE NEED A G5 TEAM AND AN ACC LOSER FUCK TEAM - theres no room for Texas in this playoff with it's resume EVEN IF IT HAD ONLY 2 LOSSES.

So here we are again, no way we lose to Arky, but if we do will everyone agree this team is not what we were told they were. Just a big ol pile of failed execution, failed expectations, failed evaluations, failed preparation. Who was in charge of this train wreck, please no more excuses.

You nailed it. Great post. Our most significant shortcomings have come on the o line. Sark was privately telling at least one major donor that Arch is ready to fly high out of the gate this season. Really talking him up. Not only was that not true, but Sark failed to mention that Arch was going to be running for his life and getting punished regularly.

Along the lines of Sark missing on evaluations, I'm dying to know how the donors that ponied up big time are enjoying the Ryan Wingo experience. Sark pounded the table for that guy and apparently he was not cheap. He was telling these donors that Arch is a golden god and we needed Arch's big weapon to take the top off of the defense. He failed to mention that the guy has dicks for hands. Whoops.

What are the NIL guys supposed to think about Sark at this point? Was he blowing smoke up their ass or was he so detached from his team due to off the field nonsense that he genuinely didnt know how bad his o line was?

Either way, doesn't exactly keep the people happy that he absolutely needs to keep happy. Most people dont enjoy lighting millions on fire.

This brings us back to all our supposedly highly touted recruits are projects while the other blue bloods are getting guys ready to contribute. Wingo has been on campus two years and still hasn't won a 50/50 ball. Livingstone has been playing just this season and already has at least one. Sark's decision making is questionable too. You could tell Arch was told to get the ball to Wingo. We targeted him 11 times, and let him run it twice. What did we get for it? He tripped over his own feet on a screen that was blocked up pretty good. He tripped again on an end around. Dropped two passes in crucial situations, and got body slammed twice. Flip the channel and see what Jeremiah Smith does with 11 targets. Or what Wesco at Clemson looks like. Wingo is a 2 star receiver with 5 star physical ability. We also likely have better receivers on the bench, but Sark likes a small rotation.

Cam Williams was the same way. 5 star size but 2 star play. Dude was constantly getting penalties. Constantly busting protections. That's the only way somebody with all his physical traits gets chosen in the 6th round. I think every tipped ball came from his side. 14-21 and driving to tie up the semi-final CFP game and this dude, like usual, completely whiffed on his man.

Again, we have to stop taking these "he could be good" players, and start doing better homework. Somewhere someone thought Matthew Golden was only good enough to play at Houston. Find that guy out there and bring him in. Quit wasting snaps on the Wingos of the world who will leave by the time they finally pan out.

I honestly think he is just a bad offensive coordinator at this point. A good coordinator has to put in the work grinding film and he is probably not doing it. It's foolish of him to think he can be an elite OC while also owning the other aspects of being HC. Especially if there is in fact additional personal life shit taking place.

I was mostly joking with a couple of friends regarding film study and offensive planning for opponents.

Either

1) Our staff is getting teams mixed up on who we're playing

2) Are falling asleep during film review prior to planning

3) Are surfing Surly during film review

4) Don't have a clue what they are looking at.

5) Simply skip film watching day in favor of "prospecting transfers" in San Marcos.

Texas is out of the playoffs at this point, might not have Hill on defense, and Arkansas can score.

While I don't believe Texas will lose, I won't be shocked if they do. Sark seems checked out and Texas is a rudderless ship at this point.

We didn't get blown out against Georgia.  It was a 14-10 game.  We had the momentum and they ran a gimmick play to get a 4th down and then we took a stupid penalty on another 4th down.  Then they did a gimmick onsides and it was ballgame.  That's not a blowout.  We make 1 stop and we win the game.

We didn't get blown out against Georgia.  It was a 14-10 game.  We had the momentum and they ran a gimmick play to get a 4th down and then we took a stupid penalty on another 4th down.  Then they did a gimmick onsides and it was ballgame.  That's not a blowout.  We make 1 stop and we win the game.

same for you.
