November 6, 20241 yr This guy likes the CFP committee: Quote Texas A&M football rewarded with respect by CFP committee despite AP voters slow to buy in on Aggies Texas A&M football, sitting at 7-2 right now, fell to 15th in the AP Poll after losing to South Carolina this past weekend. Of course, they were only ranked 10th right before that, despite having a very strong case to have been ranked ahead of several teams that were in front of them. This was a great example of 'poll inertia'; no matter what the result of a given game is, voters will only move a given team up so far. Despite the Aggies' impressive winning streak, including a resounding victory over then-8th-ranked LSU, A&M only climbed to 10th. Now that they've fallen to 15th, though, they've moved right back behind LSU in the AP, right after they tanned their hide in Kyle Field. This is obviously laughable. The CFP committee, however, did not make this same mistake. The Aggies came in at 14th overall, directly in front of 15th-ranked LSU. The difference in number is obviously not huge, but getting what should have been a simple order correct is. The AP—which, admittedly, is a conglomeration of ballots—should have been able to do this with ease, but they didn't. Even though the AP comes from many different voters, the fact that LSU was ahead of A&M meant that there were enough individual voters who placed the Tigers ahead of the Ags for the Bayou Bengals to end up ranked ahead in the final poll. That, again, is laughable. The Aggies now need to only rise a couple of spots to get into that top 12. Some teams ahead of them have to lose—Georgia and Tennessee still have to play, for example—and A&M will get their chance at another top win in Kyle Field when the Longhorns come to town. There's a lot that has yet to happen this season.
November 6, 20241 yr aggy would get waxed by pavia and vandy in Nashville if they played this weekend. But don’t let that get in the way of your argument pat.

November 6, 20241 yr Wait a second, why does the #4 team in the conference need extra focus to beat the #8 team in the conference when the #4 team is playing at home and the #8 team is clearly overrated?
November 6, 20241 yr Popular Post Bill Connelly looking at a texags boycott: Quote Texas A&M's loss to South Carolina was like nature making a course correction. This time last week, the Aggies, with their unbeaten SEC record, were basically conference co-favorites with Texas, while Georgia, the No. 2 team in the polls, was the No. 3 favorite. As impressive as A&M had been, that didn't feel quite right; nature took care of it.

Exactly!!! This is what he wrote, like actually put this down for an argument: They’ll need it to tamp down Auburn (who, again, despite sitting at 3-6, has some danger to them as a team) and especially to take down Texas. Which is it? We are number 8 and suck, according to him, or ags suck? And how does he spin an ass whipping out on display at their house? I really love this guy with the mental gymnastics! How does he spin a #12 Texas, according to his later rankings this season, somehow being in the SEC conf game while the #2 Ags aren’t even sniffing the CFP?

November 8, 20241 yr Popular Post As for cheese fries, the best in my book are Snuffers. I got introduced to them when I dated a SMU girl in college. The cheese fries at the OG snuffers on Greenville were amazing. They’re still the best.
November 8, 20241 yr Popular Post Adding toppings to fries makes them worse, not better. Toppings should be added on the side, to prevent compromising the structural integrity/crispiness of the fry. the same concept applies to those godawful piles of “noach” that ladle heaps of toppings on the upper layer with no even distribution thru the layers of tortilla chips. i appreciate the differences of opinion on this matter, while also recognizing that you should be put into camps if you ruin fries.

I know there's a "Napoleon, like anyone could even know that" aspect to it, but I'm sure Snuffers didn't mind the recognition, and it didn't keep me away.

More info on cuts Well, first it was aggie board of regents that made the choice. It was 38 programs, didn't find a list. Faculty had no input allegedly. To me this appears to be aggie state reps using their power to "unwoke" aggie academics. This is ebbing quickly into CR so I'll just note that I don't see Texas board of regents following the same path as aggie board of regents. Then again, I know shit and I'm apt to go full regard.. so..

November 8, 20241 yr Who found a reason to be butthurt about the CFP rankings? THIS GUY! Spoiler Quote Despite correction to AP Poll faux pas, Texas A&M football should still be ranked higher in CFP rankings Texas A&M football came in ranked at 14th in the first College Football Playoff rankings this past Tuesday evening. This was a correction, in one way, to their unfavorable position in the AP Poll, which placed them below LSU despite the Aggies defeating the Tigers just one week prior and both teams currently holding the same overall record. It's really not a terrible position to be in, strategically speaking, for the Aggies, either. 14th is close enough to the top 12 that it's quite feasible for A&M to get into the CFP field if they win out this season. However, college football statheads have taken a look at these rankings and, using statistical models, have shown where the committee has erred. Kelley Ford of KFord Ratings broke down how good of a job the committee did using his "most deserving" metric—a combo of power rating and resume rating—to show which teams were overrated and underrated. Two things jumped out to Aggie fans who saw this graphic: first, A&M should be about two spots higher based on their performance thus far this season. The Aggies, rather than being at 14th, should be up in the top 12. Again, this isn't a huge deal strategically speaking, as there is a clear path for A&M to get there in the final rankings, but it could have ripple effects down the line one way or another. The other is that the Aggies' most recent opponent, South Carolina, is being given absolutely no respect by the committee. The Gamecocks have three losses, yes, but all were to ranked teams—with two that should have arguably ended with SC on top rather than their opponent. A win in Nashville this weekend would put the Gamecocks in the top 25 without question. Shane Beamer's squad has a chance to make some real noise down the stretch of this season. It's also worth noting the teams that are far overranked: Notre Dame, Colorado, Texas, and a few others. The Longhorns in particular currently have no impressive wins, unless you count eking out a three-point victory over Vanderbilt as impressive. I think a 10-2 Texas, given their current ranking, may make the playoff as one of the least deserving teams to ever make the field. If they lose to Texas A&M, their best win of the year would be over Vanderbilt, and they would have lost to both good teams they played in Georgia and A&M. But sitting at 5th right now means they likely would still get in the field anyway.
