Here are some federal stats on civil appeals from a few years back. You will note that the DC Circuit in civil appeals has an average of 2.8 months from oral argument to opinion.

Oral argument was Jan. 9.    So the appellate court is NOT delaying this for Trump.

Simma down hippos…

Yes, but this circuit has shown it can move quickly when it chooses, and this isn’t the run of the mill case involving the federal government.

I totally agree.  My only point was that the DC circuit court of appeal was not sitting on this to do Trump favors - or to drag this out for reasons unknown. They aren’t doing either.  And if people don’t think appellate judges spend more time on an opinion with a high likelihood of Scotus Writ Grant, they are naïve.

I keep thinking of tonight sort of like "A visit from St. Nicholas"

T'was the night before disgorgement and all thru Mar-A-Lago...

......

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

Don Junior high on cocaine and not in clothes but tatters!

Some of you with better literary skills than I can fill in the remainder.

Or sell his company to someone he hates (Soros or some tech billionaire) and have them make meeellions while he watches from his jail cell.

And then rename everything: Biden Tower, Clinton National Golf Club, Mar-a-Fani, etc

He’d have a heart attack and croak in 24 hours

Did he actually fire habba? I mean she’s out of her element period in a court room but appellate work is specialized from my loose grasp of attorneying

This. It seems more likely she’s sidelined rather than fired. We will see if any real lawyers turn up for this job.

They lost.  She had to be fired.  He only hires winners.

Habba was already paid in advance IIRC.

Remember the lawyers are being paid by the various PACs (MAGA, Save America PAC, etc.) so this isn't a Rudy situation for these guys - none are taking the work unless the money is up front or not coming directly from Trump.

Rumor is these entities paid over $50 million in legal fees last year alone

Save America PAC is in especially dire financial straits.

Nikki Haley are trying to raise hell about this but I don’t think it will matter.

Not sure where “are” came from.

There's some graft going on there, I guarantee. How can he have spent $50MM if he doesn't pay his lawyers?

The PACs pay the lawyers directly.

Yep she's never had full responsibility for any of his cases before now, someone else has always first chaired trials and handled appeals. In Carroll I it was Mr Bob Dobalina Taco Pina. But Blanche signed the appeal brief.

Trump PACs spent an estimated $50 million of donor money on attorney fees and related expenses in 2023: report

What governs what pacs are allowed to pay?  Why should they be able to pay for personal legal bills unrelated to a campaign?

why even more should they (can they) pay for legal bills against a company that a candidate has ownership of, that is unrelated to a campaign?
